Abstract

Ibn al-Haytham or better known as Alhazen (965-1040 AD) was a great Muslim scientist who mastered many disciplines. One of his works entitled "Qawl fi Samt al-Qibla bi al-Hisab" describes a mathematical method for determining the direction of Qibla. In this paper, Ibn al-Haytham's algorithm is modified, thus the algorithm can determine the Qibla direction on the entire surface of the globe. Then, Ibn al-Haytham's mathematical method is compared with modern spherical trigonometry methods and our previous research using al-Biruni’s method. The computational results show that all methods have the same accuracy, and show that ibn al-Haytham's method is still relevant now. Therefore, the modified ibn al-Haytham method algorithm was implemented to develop a Qibla direction device and interface based on Raspberry Pi 4, GPS module, digital compass, and Processing 3 software. The implementation results show that the device can display the Qibla direction interface according to numerical calculations with high accuracy, real-time, and dynamic interface.

Abstract

The end of this research is to find PID tuning value on the packaging automation process using the PID method. By finding the most suitable PID tuning value, a fast packaging process is obtained. Herbal ingredients in herbs that are left in the open for a long time tend to be damaged more quickly. So after the production process ends, the herbs must be packaged quickly. With the packaging automation method, the product can be hygienic and does not spoil quickly. One of the most widely and easy-to-use for automation methods in the industry is the PID control method because it can accelerate the system response, stabilize the system to match the setpoint and minimize overshoot. This study will discuss how the design of the PID control system using DC motor transfer function modeling in Matlab and the Second Ziegler-Nichols PID tuning method, the effect of the load on the motor response, and the effect of PID on the production speed. The system was tested with PID tuning values are Kp = 12, Ki = 12,506, Kd = 0.0028785, speed motor 24 RPM and a load of 3,160 Kg produces a good output response are delay time = 0.502 s, rise time = 0.804 s, settling time = 4.023 s, peak time = 133.084 s, Overshoot = 0.125% and Steady State Error = 0%. The effect of PID control on production speed is 83% faster than manual production and 29% faster than systems without PID.

Abstract

This study aims to model the network for the archipelago and tourism on Gili Ketapang. The network model implemented is a wireless WAN network infrastructure to meet the needs of a reliable tourist area. This model implements DHCP and OSPF as the routing protocol. The methodology used is to perform simulations using a packet tracer in designing the network through several scenarios with parameters for assessing delay and packet loss. At the time of implementation, it began with a cluster area with the parameters of the number of business units spread across each hamlet. This network design utilizes OSPF, DHCP, and wireless network infrastructure resulting in the most considerable delay of 0.021 and packet loss of less than 3% so that it is included in the excellent category. The implementation results using the OSPF routing protocol, several paths do not go through the shortest path because they have to go through the backbone area, but because OSPF is a link-state, the cost is meager than the shortest path.

Abstract

Recently, electronic medical record (EMR) has become the source of many insights for clinicians and hospital management. EMR stores much important information and new knowledge regarding many aspects for hospital and clinician competitive advantage. It is valuable not only for mining data patterns saved in it regarding the patient symptoms, medication, and treatment, but also it is the box deposit of many new strategies and future trends in the medical world. However, EMR remains a challenge for many clinicians because of its unstructured form. Information extraction helps in finding valuable information in unstructured data. In this paper, information on disease symptoms in the form of text data is the focus of this study. Only the highest prevalence rate of diseases in Indonesia, such as tuberculosis, malignant neoplasm, diabetes mellitus, hypertensive, and renal failure, are analyzed. Pre-processing techniques such as data cleansing and correction play a significant role in obtaining the features. Since the amount of data is imbalanced, SMOTE technique is implemented to overcome this condition. The process of extracting symptoms from EMR data uses a rule-based algorithm. Two algorithms were implemented to classify the disease based on the features, namely SVM and Random Forest. The result showed that the rule-based symptoms extraction works well in extracting valuable information from the unstructured EMR. The classification performance on all algorithms with accuracy in SVM 78% and RF 89%.

Abstract

The originality of data is very important for achieving correct results from forensic analysis of data for resolving the issue. Data may be analysed to resolve disputes or review issues by finding trends in the dataset that can give clues to the cause of the issue. Specially designed foolproof protection for data integrity is required for forensic purposes. Collaborative Integrity Checking Mechanism (CICM), for securing the chain-of-custody of data in a blockchain is proposed in this paper. Existing consensus mechanisms are fault-tolerant, allowing a threshold for faults. CICM avoids faults by using a transparent 100% agreement process for validating the originality of data in a blockchain. A group of agreement actors check and record the original status of data at its time of arrival. Acceptance is based on general agreement by all the participants in the consensus process. The solution was tested against practical byzantine fault tolerant (PBFT), Zyzzyva, and hybrid byzantine fault tolerant (hBFT) mechanisms for efficacy to yield correct results and operational performance costs. Binomial distribution was used to examine the CICM efficacy. CICM recorded zero probability of failure while the benchmarks recorded up to 8.44%. Throughput and latency were used to test its operational performance costs. The hBFT recorded the best performance among the benchmarks. CICM achieved 30.61% higher throughput and 21.47% lower latency than hBFT. In the robustness against faults tests, CICM performed better than hBFT with 16.5% higher throughput and 14.93% lower latency than the hBFT in the worst-case fault scenario.

Abstract

LoRa Technology is one of the devices used on Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN), which is a viable alternative wireless communication technology for the Internet of Things (IoT). The LoRa device is meant to traverse a large distance while using minimal power. However, because it uses single-hop communication, the Gateway's farthest nodes will die prematurely as a result of the increased energy usage. This research attempts to improve the range of LoRa networks utilizing multi-hop uplink communication while also reducing energy consumption by adjusting the LoRa transmission power to the lowest possible dBm in each hop. As a network model, a star topology-based tree made of some rings with a gateway as the central point is chosen. The performance of two forms of uplink communication, single-hop and multi-hop models was tested in terms of energy consumption and coverage. The results show that the network structure in the multi-hop uplink model can extend coverage over a greater distance while using less energy than the single-hop uplink model. This model can be used as a supplement to the LPWAN's uplink communication in the IoT to enhance the network's coverage range and lifetime.

Abstract

Image captioning is a task that can provide a description of an image in natural language. Image captioning can be used for a variety of applications, such as image indexing and virtual assistants. In this research, we compared the performance of three different word embeddings, namely, GloVe, Word2Vec, FastText and six CNN-based feature extraction architectures such as, Inception V3, InceptionResNet V2, ResNet152 V2, EfficientNet B3 V1, EfficientNet B7 V1, and NASNetLarge which then will be combined with LSTM as the decoder to perform image captioning. We used ten different household objects (bed, cell phone, chair, couch, oven, potted plant, refrigerator, sink, table, and tv) that were obtained from MSCOCO dataset to develop the model. Then, we created five new captions in Bahasa Indonesia for the selected images. The captions might contain details about the name, the location, the color, the size, and the characteristics of an object and its surrounding area. In our 18 experimental models, we used different combination of the word embedding and CNN-based feature extraction architecture, along with LSTM to train the model. As the result, models that used the combination of Word2Vec + NASNetLarge performed better in generating Indonesian captions than the other models based on BLEU-4 metric.

Abstract

Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use, navigate, and interact with the website. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has provided important guidelines on web accessibility known as the Web Content Accessible Guidelines (WCAG). The Indonesian government encourages the use of new media, namely website, via Presidential Instruction number 3 of 2003 concerning the National Policy and Strategy for e-government development, which mandates every government agency to build a website. In the previous study, the tools used had limitations and were unable to complete the websites evaluation. Therefore, in this study, WCAG 2.0 standard was applied to analyze the websites of provincial governments in Indonesia. Two accessibility evaluation tools were employed, namely TAW and aXe. In addition, for data analysis and interpretation, descriptive statistics and normality tests were applied. The results showed that the most common violation was found in perceivable principle. It was expected that the findings of this study could provide insight and recommendation for web developers working on provincial government website in Indonesia.
