Abstract

TRAINING FOR CONSTRUCTING OF THE MINISTER NADIEM’S VERSION OF ONE-SHEET LESSON PLAN FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS. Learning planning is a system that refers to the objective to be achieved because it is the basis of work in carrying out all activities in learning. A system is a unit consisting of a number of components that are interconnected and interact with one another in an effort to achieve the goal. At present, elementary school teachers have difficulty in conducting the Minister Nadiem’s new policy as stipulated in a circular letter No. 14 of 2019 concerning the simplification of the administration of learning, especially related to the implementation of lesson plan of the 2013 curriculum becomes one-sheet lesson plan model. Simplifying the components of the 2013 curriculum learning lesson plan to adapt the model developed by Glaser which is the basic model in constructing lesson plan with the scope of its components, namely objective, learning procedure, and assessment. Thus, this training focuses on mentoring for teachers in developing a one-sheet lesson plan in accordance with the needs of SDN Ules, South Lembor sub-district, West Manggarai regency which is oriented toward increasing teacher creativity and innovation in learning. This training includes four stages, namely (1) needs analysis of the participants (teachers) of the training activities; (2) workshop on constructing of one-sheet lesson plan of the Minister Nadiem’s version; (3) construction and presentation of activities result, and (4) evaluation. The outcome of this activity is the availability of lesson plan model which is ready to be used by teachers in the learning process of academic year of 2020/2021, equipped with portfolio and project assessment guidelines according to subject to achieve meaningful learning goals.

Abstract

INTEGRATED THEMATIC LEARNING TRAINING AND AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT OF 21ST CENTURY COMPETENCIES FOR TEACHERS OF SDN SRENGSENG SAWAH 12 PAGI. Integrated Thematic Learning is an approach in learning that intentionally links several aspects both within intra subjects and between subjects. With this integration, students will gain full knowledge and skills so that learning becomes meaningful for students. The meaning of Integrated Thematic learning is a learning approach that involves several subjects to provide meaningful experiences to students. Identification of partner problems, namely: (1) Teachers lack knowledge in implementing variations of learning approaches and learning models, (2) Lack of teacher understanding related to integrated thematic approaches, and (3) Lack of teacher understanding related to authentic assessment based 21st Century competence. The training activities were carried out in four sessions. Some of the material activities held at this training include: (a) Understanding and Reinforcement of Pedagogical Competence and Teacher Professionalism, (b) Understanding Integrated Thematic Learning,(c) Understanding of Evaluation of Learning Implementation Plans and Learning Assessment, and (d) Understanding of the Authentic Assessment of 21st Century Competence. Participants in this activity were attended by 16 teachers at SDN Srengseng Sawah 12 Pagi. Through the training that has been done, the teachers of Srengseng Sawah 12 Pagi Elementary School can better understand and be motivated to carry out integrated thematic approaches and authentic assessments correctly in the School.

Abstract

TRAINING TO TEACH LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICS BASED ON MONTESSORY METHODS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. An important aspect that determines learning success is the learning method used by the teacher. Teacher prospective teachers should have broad insights related to learning methods. Prospective teachers and teachers need to vary the learning model. Montessori method is one method that follows the natural tendencies of children and teachers need to prepare learning that follows the stages of child development. Based on these thoughts, community service is carried out to help prospective teachers and teachers' insights about the Montessori method. The sequence of community service activities is the training and mentoring of prospective teachers, the implementation of learning by the Montessori method by prospective teachers, evaluation and reflection on the results of implementation, preparation of training materials for elementary school teachers, and the activity ends with the evaluation and training of Montessori methods for elementary teachers. The result of community service is that prospective teachers are happy to have classroom experience and 100% of students are happy because they are involved in innovative learning activities, the Montessori method. In addition, teachers also get experience training in Montessori methods.

Abstract

INCREASING THE COMPETENCE OF SCIENCE TEACHERS OF SMP/MTSN LUBUK SIKAPING THROUGH CONTEXTUAL-BASED LEARNING MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING. This activity aims to improve the competence of science teachers SMP/MTsN Lubuk Sikaping through training development of contextual based teaching materials. To achieve the objectives and targets set, the method used consists of observation, orientation and discussion, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The instruments used are tests of understanding of the material and questionnaire responses of trainees. Data analysis techniques used are paired t test and percentage analysis Based on data analysis, obtained the average value of pretest is 46.2676 and at postest 63.0672. Furthermore, paired t test, obtained results of significance 0.000 <0.05. This indicates that there is an increase in the competence of IPA teachers of SMP/MTsN Lubuk Sikaping through training of contextual based teaching materials. Based on the questionnaire given at the end of the training activities, that the activity is very useful and related to the subjects which is taught in schools.

Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF EMPOWERMENT AND DEMONSTRATION OF “LOW SALT DIET” MENU SKILL ON PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION. There are 60% of people with hypertension ending in stroke, while the rest in blindness, kidney failure, and various heart diseases. JNC-8 recommends limiting high intake of salt as one of the preventions of hypertension. Public facilities or facilities especially health facilities are still minimal, health personnel are still lacking, internet access is very limited, making To'bungku village, Banggai Islands less updated on health information related to education or counseling and health empowerment training about "Low Salt Diet "Button. This activity aims to help people with hypertension to recognize and understand health education programs and low-salt diet exercises. The method used through educational training is through media leaflets, booklets, log books, and LCD projectors, demonstrations of low-salt menu cooking skills, regular meetings, and follow-up discussions. The output of this activity is an increase in community understanding and skills in selecting and preparing low-salt food ingredients. Dissemination of events in the form of scientific publication of products, booklets, and log books as other output material. Educational training activities and regular meetings by empowering participants about the management of hypertension through low salt diet interventions have a positive effect on those who are hypertensive to start implementing a low salt diet. Further involvement of health workers and family support is needed in following-up on the adoption of a low salt diet.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS EDUCATION TO PREVENT STIGMA AND DISCRIMINATION AS A RESULT OF COMMUNITY DIAGNOSIS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS IN NGANGKRUK HAMLET, PILANGREJO VILLAGE, NGLIPAR, GUNUNG KIDUL, YOGYAKARTA. HIV/AIDS cases are an iceberg phenomenon, with fewer people being reported than they really are. The attitude of rejection and discrimination among People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in society are influenced by many factors, one of which is knowledge of HIV/AIDS. Secondary data that has been obtained from Ngangkruk Hamlet showed that the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS was still very low, which can lead to stigma and discrimination. Community diagnosis method carried out includes the following stages: 1.) identification of problems used the PIS-PK questionnaire, 2.) determining priority problems used USG method, 3.) selecting alternative solutions to problems using SWOT, 4.) determining priority problem solving using the effectiveness method- efficiency, 5.) problem-solving actions using HIV/AIDS education programs to prevent stigma and discrimination. Result showed that HIV/AIDS education in order to prevented stigma and discrimination was carried out by means of extension methods used power point media and posters. Assessment of information delivery was carried out using the game “who’s smart”. The responses from the participants showed good enthusiasm for the material presented.

Abstract

ENGLISH TRAINING FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL EDUCATORS IN YOGYAKARTA IN THE TIME OF COVID-19. This community service activity was conducted in the form of an English training for eight teachers of an Elementary School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It was conducted from January 2020 up to April 2020. The elementary school in which the training was conducted was an inclusive school in the process of implementing English as Medium Instruction (EMI) policy. As such, its teachers’ mastery of English became paramount important to facilitate young learners with all their individual differences. The training consisted of ten meetings focusing on giving instructions in class. The first up to the sixth meetings were conducted at the school in a face-to-face mode, whilst the seventh up to the tenth meetings were conducted online, mostly through tele-conferences, due to the Covid-19 pandemic compelling both facilitators and the training participants to work from home. In the ninth meeting, the participants sent their micro-teaching videos on giving effective instructions in class. In the last meeting, the facilitators gave constructive feedback based on the videos sent earlier on aspects that the participants had been good at and aspects that still needed improvements.

Abstract

INCREASING THE ACTIVITY OF LOCAL SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO REDUCE JUVENIL DELINQUENCY IN RURAL AREAS. The economic improvement of the community in Temuwuh Village along with the development of the home-based wooden handicraft turned out to create a number of social problems. These problems occurred due to economic improvement that was not accompanied by increasing in the quality of human resources, especially the younger generation. These problems were: 1) the emergence of various juvenile delinquency, 2) decreasing number of adolescents to continue higher education despite being economically capable, 3) the lack of local institutions social activity, and 4) the lack of participation by the youth in the local social activities. The general objectives of the Community Service Program were (1) increase the activity of local social institutions, especially those based on religion and cultural arts, so they become more positive and guided, (2) improve knowledge and role of the community to identify the potential of their adolescents, and (3) provide character education for adolescents in particular and all members of society in general. To achieve these targets according to the existing problems, a number of activities have been done including: 1) Socialization and counseling of youth potential and character education with counseling, religious studies, and intensive discussion, 2) Skills training for local social institutions with a) training gamelan for karawitan groups and b) training in reading the Qur'an and Islamic art for TPA groups, and 3) Assistance for local social group activities with a) intensive discussion and b) green walk.

Abstract

ANTI-CORRUPTION DA'I TRAINING FOR MUBALIGH-MUBALIGHAH AFFECTED BY PHYSICAL DISTANCING DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN PRENGGAN VILLAGE, KOTAGEDE, YOGYAKARTA. Prenggan, Kotagede, Yogyakarta is one of the villages which is chosen to be the pilot project for anti-corruption by the Corruption Eradication Committee. This village is affected by physical distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It implies to all components of the village that contribute to building the image of Prenggan as an anti-corruption village. One of the elements of the village is the mosque with its Mubaligh (preacher). However, during the pandemic, they contribute the smallest to establish the anti-corruption image. Therefore, they should learn to use online media to spread Islamic teachings in relation to anti corruption. The community service takes the form of online training that includes socialization, counseling, practice, and evaluation or monitoring. The application used in the program is Google Meet and WhatsApp Group. The results show that online training improves the anti-corruption competence of the Da’is and Mubalighs in Prenggan village. The improvement includes three aspects: the understanding of the fiqh (jurisprudence) of anti-corruption, the da’wah rhetoric for anti-corruption, and the skills to utilize the advance of information technology, especially Google Meet.

Abstract

COMPUTATIONAL THINKING INTRODUCTION FOR TEACHERS IN PURWAKARTA. The changing needs of the industrial world must always be responded quickly by the world of education. The needs of the industrial world change along with technological developments. Currently, the industry has entered the 4.0 era or better known as the digital industry. Today’s society only views computers only as tools, not as a science to educate, even negative when viewed from media notifications that report many cases of technology abuse. This causes parents to tend to limit their children’s use of technology. If children who incidentally are the future of the nation are limited or even prohibited from using technology, of course Indonesia will not be able to compete in the digital era of industry. This mindset must be straightened out, that the computer is not only a tool but also a benchmark for thinking patterns. Community service activities will take place in Purwakarta district in the form of counseling and learning Computational Thinking. Beginning with a face-to-face seminar with lecture learning methods, and questions and answers. After the teachers received counseling, then we facilitated their students to test their computational thinking skills through the Bebras Challenge, in collaboration with the NBO Bebras Indonesia.
