Abstract

The purpose of this classroom action research (using spiral model by Kemmis and Taggart) was to improve learning process (including teacher activity and student activity) and learning result of free verse writing by applying Teams Games Tournaments method. The subject were 5th-B grade Cileuksa Elementary School Paseh Subdistric Sumedang Regency. Students struggles by decided an idea, and free verse writing with personification and simile figuartive language. The research was doing up to three cycles with learning process result was increasing in every cycles until reached the target. The learning result, it was also increasing in every cycles and reached the target. First cycles reached 26,9%, second cycles reached 73,91%, and third cycles reached 86,95%. The analizet data was qualitative data, enhanced with free verse writing test evaluation. Result found that application of Teams Games Tournaments method improved students free versewriting skills.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical understanding among elementary school students is still low one of them on geometry material some students still find it difficult. As an alternative to improve the ability of mathematical understanding of RME approach. The RME approach is a learning that uses concrete objects toward abstract concepts, or learning can use shadows. The research method used experiments with pretest and postest group design. The population in the study were elementary school students in Rancakalong sub-district with the sample of SDN Pasirbenteng II as the experimental class and SDN Pasirbiru as the control class. The results of the research that the RME approach can improve the ability of mathematical understanding, the enhancement of the mathematical ability of conventional learning can be categorized similarly with RME learning, through RME approach the students give positive responses to the learning of mathematics, and the supporting factors are group learning and media help students understand the concept while the factors The inhibitor is not yet used to learning with RME and less management of the class.

Abstract

Music is an idea of feelings that are written in tone and rhythm. The learning of musical instruments applied in elementary school is very supportive during its growth and development, because giving practical experience means opening the mind to be ready to receive broad insights and knowledge. This study aims to examine the learning of Drum Band music instrument at SDN Citengah which has contributed to the improvement of musical skill of the students. Qualitative descriptive is the right method to describe the phenomenon. Description of the learning process, learning outcomes, and factors supporting the success of learning into the formulation of the problem in this study. Data collection techniques used to describe the learning of musical instruments Drum Band is an interview technique, observation, documentation, and field notes. The results describe the learning process that has three stages, namely the repetition stage, the stage of giving the material, and the training stage. Lessons learned have improved students' musical skills and improved their discipline.

Abstract

According to the research at fifth grade students in SDN Merapi for Social subject about Time Zone Divining in Indonesia that hasn’t run maximum. The researcher tired to solve the problem by using Class Act Research with inquiry methode. The method plan can fixing the students learning process and the result. Based on the results that have been obtained from the implementation of action found fact that is for learning planning activities and implementation activity of teacher performance in 3rd cycle is 100%. Student activitiy and result learning also have been improved. The student activity at 3rd cycle is 97,7%, the result obtained exceeded the expected target of 88%. The result learning has been increased in 3rd cycle is 97,5%. The result has reached the target is 86%. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of inquiry methodes can improve students’ result learning.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills need to be applied to students, both in the home, school, and community. One way that can be done to develop and improve creative thinking skills is to apply problem-based learning. This study aimed to find out the improvement and difference in the improvement of creative thinking skill in high, medium, and low group students after being treated in the form of problem based learning. The method in this research is pre-experimental method with one-group pretest-posttest design. The samples are students grade III SDN Sukaraja II. Instruments used in this study is test and non-test. The results of this study showed that of the Paired sample t-test of the three groups and one-way anova had P-value of 0.000, this means there is a significant increase and difference in the increase in the creative thinking skills of high, medium, and low group students.

Abstract

This research is based on the problem of Indonesian lag in mathematics that is analyzed based on PISA test result. One of the contributing factors is the problem solving ability of elementary school mathematics that is still low. An alternative way to improve that ability is through learning by realistic mathematics education. The research compares the effectiveness of realistic mathematics education with conventional learning specifically on circumference and area of trapezoidal and kite. The research design uses pretest-posttest control group design. The population of it is all the elementary schools in Ganeas sub-district with sample of SDN Ganeas 1 as experiment class and SDN Wargaluyu as control class that is chosen by random. The research instruments are test of mathematical problem solving ability, observation, note, and interview. The result of research in the level of significance α = 0.05 that realistic mathematics education and conventional learning can improve students' mathematical problem solving ability significantly. Students give positive responses to learn with realistic mathematics education. The use of active media and student activities are the supporting factors of learning with realistic mathematics education. Meanwhile, the obstacle factors are that students are not yet accustomed to answer  the questions that train the problem solving abilitity of mathematics.

Abstract

Based on the observation of social studies learning on the material relics and figures of Hindu-Buddhist and Islamic kingdoms in Indonesia in V grade of SDN Cisambeng 1 Palasah Majalengka. Learning only focuses on the delivery of teachers, only some students who demonstrate the learning model so that the others just look at it. Efforts to solve these problems by applying cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type. Using Classroom Action Research Method with Kemmis and Taggart research design consisting of 4 stages namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Using teacher performance observation sheet instruments, student activity observation sheets, field notes, test of learning outcomes and interview guidelines. The research completed by 3 Cycles, with the final result of planning stage of 100%, 100% implementation stage, 90.99% student activity and 87.30% learning outcomes, conclusion that cooperative model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type can increase Student learning outcomes on material relics and figures of Hindu-Buddhist and Islamic kingdoms in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the science process skills improvement students learning model by using inkuiri on thermal energy of matter in class IV SDN Bangkir and SDN Parakanmuncang I. The research is used a method of pre-experimentals with one groupz pretest posttest designs research. The instruments test used in basic ability of IPA (KAIPA), test of science process skills. The results of this research show the results of calculation of average difference test pretest and posttest high group by using paired t-test, for medium group by using the wilcoxon test, and for low group by using a paired t-test that shows the results of the p-value (Sig) 0.000 which means that p-value significance level α α = 0.05 indicates an increase in science process skills students in the high group , medium and low group learning model by using inkuiri.

Abstract

Human life always involves mathematics, so needed mastery of mathematical understanding ability, and mathematical disposition (MUA-MD) since early age. Innovative mathematic learning through Sundanese culture ethnomatematics (SCE)-based contextual approach is chosen as a solution in improving MUA-MD. This study aims to determine the improvement of students MUA-MD that learn through SCE-based contextual approach, and conventional learning, knowing differences in improvement between SCE-based contextual approach, and conventional learning, knowing the positive relationship between MUA and MD. This research used pretest-posttest control group design with samples of grade V SDN Cibeureum 3, and SDN Licin  in Sumedang. Conclusions of this research are: 1) SCE-based contextual, and conventional approach can improve MUA-MD significantly, 2) SCE-based contextual approach is significantly better to improving goals than conventional approach, 3) There is positive relationship between mathematical understanding ability, and mathematical disposition.
