Abstract

The majority of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic are reluctant to receive prenatal care for fear of being exposed to the virus, so online counseling is an alternative. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of Pregnancy e-Counseling (PeC) on prenatal health behavior during pregnancy during the COVID-19 period. This research is quasi-experimental research with a pre-post test and control group design. The sampling technique was a simple random sampling of 94 respondents divided by 47 pregnant women in the control group and 47 in the intervention group in 6 health centers in Aceh Besar. The PeC intervention began with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) followed by online counseling guided by a counselor and the provision of specially designed videos about the health of pregnant women during COVID-19. The instrument used was the standard Prenatal Health Behavior Scale (PHBS) questionnaire. The results showed a significant difference between prenatal health behavior before and after PeC in the intervention group with the Wilcoxon Test (p=0.000) and at the post-test between the control and intervention Mann-Whitney Test (p=0.000). Conclusion PeC is a very effective method to improve maternal health behavior during pregnancy, especially during a pandemic. So, it is highly recommended that PeC can be applied as part of a pregnancy visit to improve prenatal health.

Abstract

Convergence is an approach to delivering interventions that are coordinated, integrated, and jointly delivered to prevent stunting for priority targets. The implementation of stunting convergence in Rokan Hulu Regency began in 2018. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the stunting convergence program in Rokan Hulu Regency in 2021. This is a qualitative study with a rapid assessment procedure research design. The research informants consisted of the main informants, namely from Bappeda, the Health Office, the Head of the Stunting Locus Health Center, and the Stunting Locus Village Head. Supporting informants are DP3AKB, Department of Public Works, Department of Education, Department of Food Security, and Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs. Data analysis was carried out by transcribing, analyzing, and forming a matrix of research results, then triangulating the data. The results showed that the human resources in charge of monitoring nutrition at the Stunting Locus Health Center were not all trained. The budget for stunting convergence was from the APBD and the APBN and was considered to have been right on target and in accordance with the budgeting needs given. Facilities and infrastructure tend to be inadequate to implement the stunting convergence program. In the implementation of 8 stunting convergence actions, it was found that every action had been carried out, even though there were constraints in human resources, internet network availability, data availability, and suitability. It was recommended to the Rokan Hulu Government to increase the capacity of human resource managers, complete facilities and infrastructure, and improve coordination between managers of the stunting convergence program.

Abstract

The government of Indonesia instructs the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to be a mandatory vaccine for young women in Indonesia. The HPV vaccine effectively protects against HPV infection by HPV types 16 and 18, which are responsible for more than 70% of cervical cancers. There are challenges in the implementation of HPV vaccination related to parental acceptance. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the acceptance of parents of young women to the HPV vaccine in the Pejuang Public Health Center area. This research performed a cross-sectional design with 197 parents or guardians of young women domiciled in the Pejuang Public Health Center area who were selected using consecutive sampling. Data analysis utilized the Chi-Square, Mann-Whitney, Independent T, and Multiple Logistic Regression with Backward Method tests. The results revealed that only three variables had a significant relationship with acceptance of the HPV vaccine with an odds ratio of knowledge (OR=3.01, p=0.000), attitude (OR=4.76, p=0.000), and health literacy (OR = 2.15, p=0.016). The results of multivariate analysis disclosed that the most influential factor in acceptance of the HPV vaccine was attitude (OR=4.41, p=0.00). This study concluded factors that influenced parents’ acceptance of the HPV vaccine were knowledge, attitude, and health literacy, with the most influencing factor being attitude. Efforts to socialize the benefit of the HPV vaccine in the parental community are suggested to improve the attitudes of young women's parents to support their daughters in getting the HPV vaccine.

Abstract

The problem of mental disorders among soldiers is rarely discussed compared to similar problems among civilians. One form of mental disorder that is often found among soldiers is post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. This research aims to determine the risk factors for emotional mental disorders in TNI AD soldiers at the Iskandar Muda Military Command.  This research is observational analytic using a cross sectional design. The population and sample are all TNI AD soldiers registered in the Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command Rikkeswa who had their health checked in 2021 and 2022 totaling 1047 people. This research uses secondary data. The data obtained were analyzed using logistic regression and linear regression tests. The research results showed that risk factors associated with emotional mental disorders in TNI AD soldiers at the Iskandar Muda Military Command were the SGOT enzyme (p= 0.018), body mass index (BMI) value (p= 0.002). and diastolic blood pressure (p= 0.029). Multivariate analysis of BMI value (p = 0.014) was the factor most associated with emotional mental disorders. The variable most associated with emotional mental disorders was BMI (p = 0.014). It is necessary to carry out a strategic action plan to reduce emotional mental disorders related to blood pressure, SGOT enzymes and BMI. Further research needs to be carried out to detect emotional mental disorders in the TNI.

Abstract

Dementia is a complex disorder with the main symptom being a decline in areas of cognitive function, one of which is working memory. Working memory plays a role in cognitive-linguistic. If language ability decreases, then language skills are also disturbed, so it needs to be improved with activities such as reading and listening. The aim of this study was to compare reading and listening skills to working memory in people with dementia. This study employs a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The sample obtained amounted to 12 people based on the Slovin formula and the sampling technique using cluster random sampling. Data collection lasted 10 days, around October-November. Dementia screening using the MMSE form, working memory using the Numerical Memory Check form, reading and listening using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results of bivariate analysis using multiple linear regression with a coefficient obtained a value of p = 0.381 and p = 0.708, and multivariate analysis with ANOVA obtained a value of p = 0.653, indicating that no analysis of the comparison of reading and listening to working memory ability in dementia disorders was conducted. In conclusion, there is no comparison between reading and listening and working memory ability in dementia disorders in Surakarta.

Abstract

The Ministry of Health reports that smokers will have a greater chance of getting COVID-19 in 2020 compared to non-smokers. This study aims to do two things:(1) determine if smoking habits changed before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, and(2) learn about the causes and effects of people's smoking habits during the epidemic. This study used a mixed-methods explanatory sequential design as its research technique. Before moving on to qualitative research, the study employs quantitative approaches. Directly distributed questionnaires were used to collect quantitative data. Qualitative information was derived from extensive interviews and careful observation. The data showed that smoking locations did not vary before or during the pandemic (p = 0.679). The amount of time spent smoking did not change (p=0.570). Before and during the epidemic, there were various kinds of cigarettes (p=0.008). Cigarette smoking rates were lower before the COVID-19 epidemic and higher after it ended (p=0.030). Because of the pandemic's lack of physical activity and the fact that informants do not experience the health hazards of smoking, they continue to smoke. Smoking has a favorable impact on informants' well-being, leading to feelings of relaxation, comfort, and decreased burdens; it also has an economic impact, since expenditure on smoking is greater than other costs. Recommendation for smokers to cut down on cigarette usage to lower smoking risks.

Abstract

Health literacy is the ability to seek information, understand, and obtain information about health. It is very important for the older adults to have health literacy, because this ability can help the older adults obtain information about health. If the older adults have good health literacy, then they are able to achieve their physical and psychological well-being.. Objective: to explore the relationship between health literacy and depressive symptoms among older adults in community. Methods: The research design used analytics correlational with a cross-sectional approach. Purposive sampling technique was used in this study with a total sample of 98 older adults. This study was conducted on August 2023 by administering the Health Literacy Short Form Survey Questionnaire) to measure health literacy and the Geriatric Depression Scale to measure depressive symptoms. Data analysis in this study used Spearman Rank analysis. Results: The results of the Spearmen's rank correlation test were r = -0.469 with a significance value of p <0.001. This can be interpreted as meaning that there is a significant relationship between health literacy and depressive symptoms in the elderly. An elderly person who has poor health literacy may be at risk of developing symptoms of depression, and vice versa. Conclusion: Health Literacy is an important indicator that a person must have to achieve the desired health. Health Literacy contributes to reducing risk factors for health problems, both physical and mental.

Abstract

Data from the Ogan Ilir District Health Office shows that the coverage of antenatal care services is still not optimal. Only around 60-70% of pregnant women make complete ANC visits (at least four visits during pregnancy) according to the standards set by WHO. Most pregnant women in the Ogan Ilir District enrolled in NHI fall into the Contribution Assistance Recipient (PBI) category. This suggests that contribution assistance is critical in improving access to health services for low-income pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of JKN contribution assistance on the utilization of Antenatal Care (ANC) services in Ogan Ilir District. The research design was a cross-sectional study using secondary data from the Field Learning Experience by the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University in 2023. The population was all mothers with children under five, with purposive sampling with 342 respondents in Pemulutan District and Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. Univariate analysis was used to describe each variable, and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square Test. The results showed no effect of the variables (NHI contribution assistance, age of father and mother, education of father and mother, number of family members, number of children under five, history of illness, and family income) on ANC service utilization. This indicates the need for additional interventions to increase ANC service utilization in the area.
