Abstract

The prevalence of obesity in Pekanbaru City among adolescents aged 16-18 years in 2018 was 4.87%. Obesity in adolescents is mainly caused by excessive food intake. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of energy intake and macronutrient intake to the incidence of obesity in SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. This type of research is descriptive analytic research with cross-sectional design. The research sample was 44 respondents obtained using stratified random sampling technique. Data collection used food recall questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Data analysis used the spearman correlation test. The results showed that 29.5% of respondents were obese, 56.8% had excess energy intake, 75% had excess protein intake, 72.7% had excess fat intake, and 56.8% had excess carbohydrate intake. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between energy intake (p=0.068), protein intake (p=0.085), fat intake (0.081), and carbohydrate intake (0.068) with the incidence of obesity in adolescents. It is expected that health workers provide education about balanced nutrition to students so that optimal nutritional status for adolescents can be realized.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg, which can lead to serious health problems, particularly heart disease. Managing hypertension in the elderly requires effective health strategies, especially non-pharmacological treatments, to control its impact. This study aims to review the effect of relaxation on lowering blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension. The method used was PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis), and relevant articles were searched through three databases: PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. A total of 1234 articles were initially identified, but after screening based on specific criteria, only 10 articles met the requirements for the literature review. Overall, relaxation had a positive impact on elderly individuals with hypertension. This systematic review found evidence that relaxation techniques are an effective non-pharmacological method to reduce blood pressure and stress in hypertensive elderly individuals, and they also help improve quality of life by better managing blood pressure and reducing physical and psychological burdens.

Abstract

Medical services are assessed through indicators that gauge patient satisfaction with the services rendered by hospitals, contingent upon the quality of those services. Numerous complaints from the public regarding Kudungga Hospital persist. This study seeks to analyze the factors influencing outpatient treatment satisfaction at Kudungga Hospital. A cross-sectional approach is employed in the study, utilizing a quantitative methodology. Independent variables include access, admission process, waiting time, physical environment, doctor consultation, information for patients and the dependent variable is outpatient satisfaction. The population is outpatients at Kudungga Hospital in December 2023 as many as 3373 people. The sample technique was purposive sampling technique and through Slovin calculation there were 358 respondents as samples in this study. The research analysis used Spearman Rank and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that the factors associated with employee performance at Puskesmas were access (0.0001), admission process (0.0001), waiting time (0.0001), physical environment (0.015), doctor consultation (0.0001), information for patients (0.0001). The dominant variable was the admission process with 5.24 (95% CI OR = 2.585-10.656). The conclusion is that patient satisfaction will be high if the services provided are good starting from reception officers, hospital facilities, health workers and access to health care facilities. It is recommended that hospital management evaluate the quality of hospital services through suggestions and criticisms from patients who seek treatment.

Abstract

Hot Gas Path Inspection (HGPI) is a high-risk work area with a vast working area and a considerable number of crews. The limited availability of HSE personnel, coupled with the expanding work area, underscores the importance of surveillance using CCTV cameras. X utilizes CCTV surveillance to evaluate worker behavior and working conditions in real-time within the Hot Gas Path Inspection area. The objective of this research is to investigate safety surveillance through digital CCTV worker monitoring during Hot Gas Path Inspection activities at the X Power Plant. This research was conducted from April to July 2024. A qualitative research method was employed, involving in-depth interviews with four informants: a Field HSE Specialist, a Supervisor of the Digital CCTV Command Center, a User Team member, and a worker. The research findings indicate that the implemented digital CCTV surveillance system has demonstrated satisfactory performance in supporting the execution of hot gas path inspection activities. Policies, human resources, infrastructure, work procedures, and existing evaluation mechanisms have been well-integrated. To continually enhance the system's effectiveness and efficiency, the company is recommended to conduct comprehensive evaluations periodically, covering technical, operational, and organizational aspects. This is to ensure that the implementation of surveillance technology remains aligned to improve occupational safety and health.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks second in the world for the highest number of Tuberculosis (TB) cases, with approximately 30% of patients being women of productive age. The lengthy TB treatment process often requires extended leave from work, which can negatively impact mental health due to social stigma and concerns about transmission. This quantitative study aims to analyze the factors influencing the intention of female TB survivors to return to work, by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior and psychological well-being. The survey involved 238 respondents from the PETA-TB community in Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bandung. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS with R-Studio. The results show that subjective norms positively affect both psychological well-being and return-to-work intention, while perceived health influences psychological well-being but not directly the intention to return to work. Psychological well-being is confirmed as a key mediating factor between social support and the intention to return to work.

Abstract

Low birth weight babies (LBW) in agricultural and coastal areas have different health problems thus possibly having different care needs. Inappropriate promotion of child health, especially LBW, in both clinical and community service settings can increase morbidity and mortality rates. The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of LBW babies care needs based on family perspectives in coastal and agricultural areas. This cross-sectional observational study was conducted in June 2023 using a questionnaire to identify the determinants of LBW’s babies care. The population of this study was children and mothers in coastal and agricultural areas. Multistage random cluster sampling with the G*Power application obtained 193 participants per region, resulting in a total sample of 386. Data were analyzed using difference in means between two regions. The results showed that agricultural regions had higher mean on LBW care, parental stress, and family empowerment. Coastal areas had higher mean scores on quality of life, maternal confidence, and food diversity practices. There was a significant difference between coastal and agricultural areas on the determinants of LBW’babies care between coastal and agricultural areas, especially on the variables of parental quality of life (p=0.000), parenting stress (p=0.029), maternal confidence (p-0.000) and family empowerment (p = 0.000). Optimizing health promotion by pediatric nurses in the scope of hospital and community settings can be achieved by empowering families and paying attention to parenting stress, maternal confidence, and parents' quality of life.

Abstract

Depression in adolescents is a significant mental health problem. One factor that can influence the incidence of depression in adolescents is family emotional support. This study aims to examine the effect of family emotional support on depression in adolescents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of family emotional support on the incidence of depression in adolescents and to evaluate the level of emotional support provided by families to adolescents. This study used a cross-sectional design with questionnaires distributed to 202 adolescents aged 15-21 years. Data were analyzed descriptively and with statistical regression tests to assess the relationship between family emotional support and the incidence of depression. As many as 78.7% of adolescents felt comfortable with family emotional support, but 32.18% reported that their families often did not ask about their condition. Overall emotional support reached 67.3%. The study also found that female adolescents were more susceptible to depression although age, gender, and education factors did not show a significant relationship. Family emotional support plays an important role in reducing the impact of depression in adolescents. Although overall emotional support is good, many adolescents feel they are not getting enough attention from their families. Family emotional support has an effect on preventing depression in adolescents. Families need to pay more attention to the emotional needs of adolescents and improve counseling services to help parents understand their children's emotional conditions.
