Abstract

In the context of tourism, supporting facilities such as shops / souvenir businesses has a strategic position in its existence, because it is ‘secondary travel needs’. This secondary travel needs are produced and marketed by a an art studio called Nggara Simbelin art studio located in Lingga village. This art studio is the supporting for tourism existence in the Karo District to date, which has been providing souvenirs based on wood, however this souvenir business has various problems. One of which is marketing,it is weak so that it sometimes results in a build-up of goods of those souvenir in the warehouse. During the 4.0 industrial revolution, information is not only as needs however it has become a primary need for millennials today, and nature and local creativity are highly valued interests for tourists. Therein lies the opportunity, where in this research will be packed as an advertisment in the form of a film teaser to support business marketing souvenir so that it can become a commodity information for millennial tourists who visited tourist sites in the Karo District. The movie teaser is expected to increase sales of souvenir products made from wood from Nggara Simbelin art studio in Lingga Village. This study uses the science of phenomenology, participant observation techniques, with data analysis: (1) data reduction; (2) presentation data; and (3) drawing conclusions / verification. The making of tourism films in this study uses 2 theories, a secondary theory, namely: the theory of film making with 3 working indicators: pre-production, production and postproduction of films, while the primary theory is: film theory as a tourism promotion media with 4 working indicators: color, features, properties and ratios. The results of the application of the seven working indicators of the theory produces a true tourism film as a tourism promotion media. From this research, the next study we will examine how is the impact of this advertisment on the sale of wooden souvenirs for the Nggara Simbelin art gallery.

Abstract

The problems of Indonesia, especially correspondence in the cases of standardized punctuation marks, vocabulary, and sentences according to Indonesian principle is presented, including effective letter format in the public service program. The people should take care of Indonesian properly and accurately, especially in a formal or official condition at schools or offices. In this case, the team of public service provided training for the employees at SMP Negeri 7, Medan to foster and development of Indonesian in correspondence so that they will be able to write letters accurately and effectively. The implementation used lecture and explanation method in teachers-students direct interaction; the trainers explained standard sentences, words, and spelling according to Indonesian spelling through LCD media. By using persuasive and educative method, the trainers asked the trainees to practice writing letters so that there was two-way communication which made them enthusiastic in participating the training. Many of them asked questions and were interested in following the program. In the post-exercise, most of them could get much more input. The result was that the employees could write letters effectively and accurately.

Abstract

Childhood is the critical age that determine the quality of children’s future nutritional status and their growth and development physically and mentally. Nutritional status is influenced by many things, such as nutrition intake, motor and psychomotor activity, and infectious diseases. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of teachers and students in balanced nutrition intake and the applicable methode to choose and to consume balanced nutrition so we can achieve the perfect nutritional status. The community service is held in June-December 2019 by doing 1)socialization about balanced nutrition in childhood, 2)explanation of how to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI) per age, 3) demonstration of how to determine nutritional status by calculating BMI per age 4) classify the nutritional status that obtained from the calculation of BMI per age. The result of the community service is the average students have good nutritional status, but some students are obese which means bad nutritional status. The Evaluation result is the increase of knowledge and skills of students and teachers in calculating BMI and determining children’s nutritional status to increase children’s quality of growth and development.

Abstract

UKM Mandiri Jaya is a community group effort that has not been economically productive, but has a strong desire to become an entrepreneur. Members of these SMEs are made up of economically weak communities. They have a very low income. Daily necessities of life are obtained through farming and catfish farming. The effort is carried out on arable land and the home page. Agricultural products are sold, but are not able to meet the increasing needs. Catfish farming is also carried out on a small scale because it is constrained by the high price of feed on the market. With the aim to develop the business of fish farming, SMEs have been given fish seeds, materials and pellet making equipment and fish feed making machines. A fish feed machine is needed so that farmers can increase their income by utilizing existing ingredients as a fish feed composition. Partners have been trained so as to be able to make their own fish feed from quality ingredients and partners have the ability to use the machines provided. Through the feed produced by the use of a given machine, the better fish growth. More fish yields resulting in an increase in income for these partners.

Abstract

Mirror Beach is one of the potential tourist areas in Serdang Bedagai Regency. As the tourism area is synonymous with tourism, the community service activity in this proposal is to develop English-language tourism jargon in the Al-Hidayah recitation group in Pantai Cermin District, Serdang Bedagai District. Al-Hidayah Study Group consists of mothers who live around the tourist destination, Pantai Cermin. As one of the tourist destinations, this location is often visited by foreign tourists. The mothers who are included in this study group are dominant traders who sell around the beach. However, their ability to communicate in English is still minimal. This is due to the lack of understanding of English and the limited vocabulary in English so that they have difficulty communicating in English. The final goal to be achieved in this service is to increase the ability of mothers to communicate using English. The solution offered is to teach English-language tourism jargon so that their vocabulary increases. And also teaching about simple English so they can use it in daily communication. With increasing vocabulary and understanding of English, it is hoped that they will increase their competence and confidence.

Abstract

After the millennium era, the development of information technology (IT) was sufficient quickly, changes in business patterns have also increased sharply. This is called the disruption era. IT technology has also penetrated the world of Education, both in management too learning method. In the world of education now the learning method is not only using conventional methods such as from textbooks and explanations from teachers only, but also with effective learning methods and efficiently by utilizing information technology. An example is the media multimedia based learning. Community service is wrong one way that can be used to carry out information technology correctional. Community service that will be carried out in this study is entitled Utilization of Information Technology in the Implementation of Active Learning in Schools PTPN4 Dolok Ilir Private Middle School In the Face of the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0, with the aim of helping teachers in the process of learning mathematics more interesting interactive and fun, because in general middle school students The first has many uses of telecommunications equipment that is equipped with various kinds of multimedia. The result of this service learning media will be made mathematics that includes the problem of building and space in accordance with the curriculum Junior high school.
