Bekiung Village is one of the villages in Kuala sub-district, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra province, Indonesia. Generally, the people in Bekiung Village, Kuala District have a livelihood in the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors. The main livestock commodities are cows and goats while the agricultural commodities are rice and corn. The partner's current problem is the accumulation of livestock waste that has not been utilized and also agricultural waste such as crop residues that are wasted even though this waste has the potential to be developed because it contains nutrients. Generally, farmers in Bekiung village still practice conventional crop cultivation using synthetic chemical fertilizers continuously, which have a physical and chemical impact on the soil and have an impact on health. The lack of knowledge of farmers in the utilization of livestock and agricultural waste is the main obstacle to overcoming these problems. The purpose of this activity is to utilize agricultural and livestock waste in making bokashi. The solution is empowering farming communities through training in making bokashi by utilizing livestock and agricultural waste in the hope of increasing farmers' income and can also be used in cultivated plants to reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers.

The availability of abundant and easily available clean water has become a strength in the development of the freshwater fish industry in this village. The process of eel cultivation which does not require a lot of equipment and care as well as a large area of land is the main attraction in terms of its development potential. Paya Geli village community. The people of Paya Geli Village only use a conventional cultivation system where the eels are simply left in a mud bath and fed with leftover food. The use of the conventional system will not only have a small impact on productivity but will also encourage a bad and dirty paradigm for the eel consumer society. The solution to this problem is the use of eel cultivation methods with clean water media and partial harvests which will not only increase productivity but also make it easier to control and harvest according to the specifications desired by the market. It is hoped that this service activity will not only increase the productivity of eel cultivation but also become a new source of driving the economy of the Paya Geli Village community and expand employment opportunities through eel farming entrepreneurial activities.

Increasing student literacy and environmental care for elementary and junior high school students is the theme of the Real Work Lecture/Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Group 138 in Pematang Raya Village, Simalungun Regency. This paper aims to describe the community service activities carried out by Universitas Sumatera Utara students in KKN activities in increasing Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka Outcome Base Education (MBKM-OBE) as a forum for providing opportunities for students to experience off campus, interact, identify social phenomena and provide solutions through Project Base Learning and Problem Solving for the community around the location of the Real Work Lecture/Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) carried out by the Community Service Institute of Universitas Sumatera Utara. From the results of observations and assessments of students, the priority scale of the problem is the lack of student literacy and low environmental awareness. The implementation method is carried out during the 2 months students are at the KKN location by making KKNT posts, learning houses and programs that have been compiled and run regularly every week for 2 months. The results of the 138 KKN group service can be seen in real changes, namely increasing student literacy to read as a means of filling spare time, doing homework independently and conscious activities to dispose of waste in its place, sorting organic and non-organic waste and being able to make simple compost.

Used cooking oil that is repeatedly used can be dangerous for health due to changes in composition and the release of acrolein, which can potentially cause cancer. This community service activity aims to raise awareness among the public about the dangers of consuming used cooking oil repeatedly. However, awareness of the dangers of cooking oil has created a new pollution problem related to waste disposal. People still dispose of used cooking oil directly into dishwashing sinks, drains, or even into the ground. The challenge faced by the Green Group partners so far is the fluctuation in the level of public interest and activity in collecting used cooking oil waste. Although the public has been educated about the impact of using used cooking oil waste and its indiscriminate disposal, the amount of oil collected is still not as expected. This challenge is being addressed by selecting one exemplary district, Datuk Bandar Sub-district, in Tanjungbalai City. Education is conducted collectively in village halls, door to door, and through the distribution of brochures and flyers. The public can submit used cooking oil waste to Green Group partners, which can be exchanged for money or basic necessities. The implementation team of the community service program is forming several community groups to extend the chain of public understanding about health and environmental preservation. The sub-districts in Datuk Bandar Sub-district become the pilot location that will later spread to other sub-districts, so that more people understand and participate in the activity. The hope is that the implementation of this community service program will achieve the third Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is to ensure healthy lives and promote the well-being of people of all ages.
