Abstract

Dataran Tinggi Village is one of the villages located in the administrative area of East Binjai District, Binjai City. Dataran Tinggi Village has a population of 6,789 people in 2021 which occupies an area of 42.6 H. Based on the results of interviews conducted with the Head of the Dataran Tinggi Village stated that most people have a bad habit of burning garbage. For this reason, activities are needed that can reduce the habits of these people. Implementation methods used are lectures and demonstrations. The dedication activity was attended by 73 participants. The details of the participants included 25 participants in waste management socialization, 18 participants in making verticulture, and 30 participants in socializing waste management into compost. The series of activities carried out included socialization on waste management to elementary school children, socialization on processing waste into compost using the takakura and vermicompost methods, and making verticulture. The results of the implementation of the activity were in the form of increasing students' knowledge related to waste management by 76%, compost, and 3 series of vertical pipes. It can be concluded that real work lecture activities are able to increase human resources and reduce people's habit of burning garbage.

Abstract

Human development is being promoted on an scale by the Indonesian government. The human development index (ipm) of 2021 reached 72.29 percent, showing an increase of 0.35 percent. Ipm improvements can be made through various sectors, health among them. Yet, hand washing and dental and oral health are among the problems faced by school-age children. The method of carrying out the activity is to use the method of speaking and demonstration with the participants of 30 third-grade students in the country of 024772 east binjai. The activity resulted in increased knowledge and awareness of state elementary school students 024772 east binjai demonstrated with the student's willingness and ability to practice good and proper hand washing and brushing of teeth.

Abstract

Leadership style is a characteristic that is described by a leader in leading his subordinates to achieve a certain goal. Supported by good emotional intelligence will create optimal performance. This study aims to determine the effect of leadership style and emotional intelligence on the performance of employees of PT. PLN Medan Customer Service Implementation Unit. The form of research conducted is quantitative research using an associative approach. Sampling through nonprobability sampling technique using 56 samples of respondents. Methods of data analysis using validity test, reliability test, classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the leadership style variable (X₁) did not significantly influence employee performance. Meanwhile it is known that the emotional intelligence variable (X₂) has a significant effect on employee performance. The results of the test for the coefficient of determination show that there is a fairly close relationship between leadership style and emotional intelligence on employee performance with an R value of 0.432. Through the adjusted R square value, it is also known that the variables of leadership style and emotional intelligence contribute 15.6% to employee performance variables while the remaining 84.4% are influenced by other variables not discussed in this study.

Abstract

In today's digital age, a profile website has become an essential tool for promoting the potential of a region. The rise of digital technologies and the increasing importance of the online world have made it easier to communicate and access information. This paper explores the effectiveness of a profile website in promoting the potential of a region, with a case study of the Tanjung Harapan neighborhood. Numerous studies have shown that a profile website can significantly increase public knowledge about the potential of a region and boost tourist interest in visiting the area. In the context of a neighborhood, a profile website can play a vital role in promoting its potential, including its tourist attractions, cuisine, culture, and more. By showcasing the best of what the neighborhood has to offer, a profile website can attract more visitors, thus increasing the area's economic potential. This paper highlights the importance of creating a profile website for the Tanjung Harapan neighborhood in the current digital era. The website can act as a digital brochure, presenting the best of the neighborhood, and giving visitors a taste of what they can expect to see and experience in Tanjung Harapan. The website also increases public trust and opens up opportunities to reach out to a wider audience. The findings of this paper have implications for policymakers and community leaders who seek to promote the potential of their region through digital media.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject whose field of study is abstract and requires the ability to think logically so that to convey it, a medium is needed so that students become more understanding of the material presented and stimulate students to improve their ability to think logically. One of the learning media that is in accordance with current developments is the use of software. Using the GeoGebra Software provides several advantages, including geometric drawings which are usually produced more quickly and accurately than using a pencil, ruler or compass. The existence of animation facilities and manipulation movements (dragging) in the GeoGebra Software can provide a clearer visual experience for students in understanding geometric concepts. Can be used as an evaluation to ensure that the painting that has been made is correct. Make it easier for teachers and students to investigate or show the properties that apply to a geogebraic object. The method used in this activity is an interactive lecture that is chosen to deliver software geoebra which is carried out in three stages, namely the field assessment stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. By using this GeoGebra software, it can increase the knowledge and understanding of teachers in learning mathematics and can produce teaching materials based on GeoGebra.

Abstract

Down syndrome (DS) is a chromosome 21 condition that leads to abnormalities in a number of organs, unusual facial traits, as well as intellectual and developmental problems. It takes more time, effort, and patience to raise kids with DS, which makes it a hard undertaking. Another challenging difficulty is the significant amounts of stress and sadness that DS parents experience. With the help of strategies and local values, this program seeks to educate parents of DS patients so they may create social change (positive deviation). This service is provided in two stages, socialization and education, as well as genetic counseling, to help influence social change in society, particularly in families with DS children. According to socialization research findings, the biggest health issues for kids with DS are metabolic and dietary issues. During discussion, parents' emotional states were also exposed. In order to learn more about the family history of genetic illnesses and risk factors, parents receive genetic counseling. A variety of experts are involved in this service's education, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians, who can give an overview of how to appropriately care for DS.

Abstract

Language is an essential thing that is applied in almost every field of life, including in the field of education, bussiness, industry, entertainment, etc. In the current era of globalization, English is very important to master because English is one of the most widely used international official languages ​​to communicate globally. Learning English opens various opportunities both in education and career of an individual. Children in Titi Payung Village, Batu Bara District, Air Putih District, Sumatra Utara Province have some difficulties in approaching and learning English. Besides English, of course, the local language also needs to be preserved in order to study and introduce culture to the outside world. The people in Titi Payung Village have a diverse ethnic backgrounds, including Javanese, Bataknese and Malay. By that the children in Titi Payung Village are the right target for learning Malay in order to conserve the Malay culture. Based on this, students from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra took part in the KKNT-2022 activities and held programs of theaching languages such as English (English Course) and Malay to the children in Titi Payung Village namely in the Rumah Belajar program. This is done with the aim of improving language skills in children with carry out teaching English and Malay to children in Titi Payung Village and publish every activity to Titi Payung`s KKNT-36's social media account so that it is known and supported by the community.

Abstract

Titi Payung Village is one of the villages in Air Putih District, Batu Bara District, North Sumatra Province. The Titi Payung area has an area of ​​165 hectares, 100 hectares for residential areas and 59 hectares of productive agricultural land. There are a total of 2,551 people there, divided into 6 hamlets. The large amount of agricultural land in Titi Payung Village has an impact on the many Titi Payung Village people who choose to become farmers as their main livelihood. In 2010, the increase in market demand for local agricultural products reached 60%. For this reason, organic fertilizers are needed, especially compost which is more environmentally friendly and can improve the quality of agricultural products. The implementation method used is lectures and demonstrations by inviting farmers to practice directly. The result of the implementation of the activity is an increase in farmer's knowledge regarding the manufacture of good and correct compost. It can be concluded that real work lecture activities can increase the knowledge of farmers in Titi Payung Village regarding the importance of using compost to improve agricultural quality.

Abstract

Titi Payung Village is one of the villages in Air Putih District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. Titi Payung has an area of 165 hectares. There are a total of 2,551 people there, divided into 6 hamlets. Some of the health problems that often occur in school-age children are diseases related to children's personal hygiene and the environment like not brushing their teeth properly and correctly, the habit of washing hands with soap, and so on. Diseases that often arise due to lack of personal hygiene are diarrhea, helmintiasis (stomach worms), toothache, etc. (Saputra, 2013). For this reason, there are several activities that should be encouraged to be able increase knowledge and health quality for students, starting from Kindergarten/Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) students to Elementary School/Sekolah Dasar (SD) students in Titi Payung Village as a form of prevention of diseases from an early age. The Implementation methods used are lectures and demonstrations. The set of activities carried out are the socialization of the importance of handwashing with soap (Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun- CTPS) and socialization of maintaining dental and oral health. The results of the implementation of the socializations were the improvents of students' knowledge regarding the correct way to wash hands with soap and the correct way to brush the teeth. As conclusions, the Thematic Students' Study Service/ Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT) of Universitas Sumatra Utara 2022 helped to increase the knowledge of students in Titi Payung Village and inspire to put more efforts to prevent disease from an early age.

Abstract

The Turi farmer group is located in Sidomulyo Village, Tuntungan, Medan. One of the businesses run by this group is the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. However, this poktan has not been able to produce oyster mushroom baglog independently. Thus, greater capital is needed to buy baglog from the manufacturer. Basically, the process of making oyster mushroom baglog is quite simple and can be conducted manually, but the common problems encountered are the long baglog production time, non-uniform quality and high number of workers. In addition, the production of oyster mushroom baglog can be used as another business by partner groups in an effort to increase the income of group members and cut production costs for oyster mushrooms in partner groups. The purpose of this activity was to improve the insight and skills of the community in the Turi Poktan to be able to produce the oyster mushroom baglog by utilizing a simple technology in the form of a baglog presser to cut the production costs and open up new business opportunities in order to improve the welfare of the community in partner Poktans. The expected results from this community service activity were products in the form of oyster mushroom baglog and the formation of a new business by the turi group as a producer of oyster mushroom baglog so as to increase the welfare of the community in partner groups.
