Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of honesty value education based on teacher exemplarity and religious habituation at SDN Kemiri Sewu 1 Pandaan, Pasuruan, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors within the context of Islamic character education. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, Islamic Education (PAI) teachers, and students, as well as documentation of daily religious activities. The data were analyzed descriptively through the stages of reduction, display, and verification. The findings indicate that teacher exemplarity is the core strategy in fostering honesty values through the hidden curriculum, where teachers’ behaviors such as discipline, integrity, and the courage to admit mistakes serve as moral models for students to emulate. Religious habituation through activities like salat dhuha, tadarus, and collective prayers acts as a reinforcing mechanism that strengthens moral awareness and internalizes honesty into daily behavior. The supporting factors include the principal’s leadership, the school’s religious environment, and positive emotional bonds between teachers and students. In contrast, inhibiting factors arise from family background diversity, digital media influence, and limited time allocation for formal PAI learning. This study concludes that the synergy between teacher exemplarity, religious habituation, and the school’s moral ecology effectively nurtures honesty as a spiritual and moral identity grounded in Islamic faith and practice. Abstract

Instilling nationalistic values in Generation Z at Islamic boarding schools faces significant challenges amid rapid technological development and globalization. Many Generation Z students are strongly exposed to global culture through social media, which has weakened their orientation towards national values. Although Islamic boarding schools play a central role in character education, research examining how Islamic boarding schools can effectively instill nationalism in Generation Z is still very limited. This study aims to identify the role of the Sunan Bonang Panca Mulya Islamic Boarding School in instilling a spirit of nationalism in Generation Z students and to reveal the challenges faced in the process. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and analysis of documents related to national education programs. The results of the study show that although the pesantren has integrated nationalism education into the curriculum, several major challenges, such as low interest in history and limited technological facilities, remain obstacles to effective implementation. This study contributes by offering recommendations on innovations in technology-based nationalism teaching, as well as the use of social media as a more attractive means of national education for santri.

Abstract

This study examines the tendency to simplify the meaning of the obligation to wear the hijab in society, where this obligation is understood only as a physical covering and disregards the ethical and social aspects mandated by the Quran. The main objective of this research is to examine the essence and scope of the hijab through an interpretation of Surah An-Nur verse 31 and Al-Ahzab verse 59, in order to formulate an ideal implementation framework that is adaptive to modern challenges. The method used is qualitative, focusing on an in-depth literature review of the Quran, tafsir works (especially Al-Misbah and Ibn Kathir), and academic literature. The findings indicate a close relationship between personal ethics (khimar, Ghadul Bashar) and self-representation in public spaces (jilbab). It is concluded that a complete Muslim woman's identity requires complete harmony between the visual manifestation of the hijab and internal moral integrity, where moral values must be the primary foundation of one's appearance. This research contributes to presenting a conceptual model of Islamic law regarding the limitations and nature of the hijab to support moderate religious practices.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze Islamic views and paradigms regarding motivation and their application in the educational environment. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a focus on text and context analysis from primary Islamic sources as well as interviews with relevant parties in the educational environment. Through in-depth analysis of classical texts, hadith, and contemporary literature, this research gains an understanding of Islamic views on motivational factors, such as life goals, spiritual satisfaction, and social responsibility. The results of the research show that in the Islamic paradigm, motivation is not only material, but also spiritual and moral. Life goals that are directed towards achieving the hereafter provide a transcendental dimension in individual motivation. Motivation is strengthened by inner satisfaction and balance between worldly and spiritual needs. Social responsibility is also a motivator, in which individuals are motivated to provide benefits to society and the environment
