Abstract

Inclusive higher education in Indonesia still faces significant challenges in fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities to access equal education. This article presents the concept of a "Smart and Inclusive Campus" with a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach and the integration of sensory-based digital technology to create a more inclusive campus environment. A literature study and analysis of inclusive education policies were conducted to identify accessibility gaps and formulate strategies for developing campus facilities and infrastructure. The results of the study indicate that a combination of universal open space design, mobile-based assistive technology, digital navigation systems, and reinforcement of physical infrastructure can enhance the academic and social participation of students with disabilities. Implementing this concept requires the active involvement of various parties, including the government, educational institutions, the private sector, and disability communities. By adopting this innovative approach, higher education institutions are expected to create a learning environment that is equal, adaptive, and supportive of all students.

Abstract

West Nias is a district located in the province of North Sumatra. Tourism in West Nias has good prospects and can still be developed optimally. Diverse tourist attractions are one of the potentials in the tourism sector in West Nias so classified as excellent in generating foreign exchange for the country. The stunning beauty of the islands The islands and beaches in West Nias are one of the attractions for tourists in exploring more about West Nias. This results in an increase in para tourist visitors from day to day. Of course, this is a significant increase in tourists gives rise to various problems. Problems in the West Nias Regency area one of which is the lack of accommodation for tourists. The design of this resort aims to support residential accommodation for tourists, as an internal effort improving the quality of tourism in the Sirombu beach area of West Nias by utilizing its natural potential. The design of the Tourist Center in the Sirombu coast area of West Nias is based on in the neo-vernacular approach, a construction concept consisting of modern elements and trying to adapt to the environment. The concept combines key aspects of form, usability and technology and integrated with the current environment.

Abstract

Sense of place is the concept of emotional, social, and cultural attachments formed between individuals and a place. The formation of sense of place is influenced by three factors, namely physical form, image, and activities. Historical buildings, especially cultural heritage, have a high sense of place, especially in their physical form. This research aims to analyze the influence of the physical form of colonial building facades in the Bosbow cultural heritage area of Madiun City in forming a sense of place. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with the approach of field observation and literature study. The results of this study show that the physical elements of buildings such as roofs, gevels, columns, walls, doors, windows, and other decorations have a role in shaping a sense of place in the form of visual impressions, place identity, and physical comfort. These elements not only represent a beautiful colonial character but also serve as a link between historical values and present-day spatial experiences. So the preservation of physical elements in buildings that have a sense of place value such as historic buildings is very important to strengthen the identity of an area.

Abstract

Education in the millennial generation is very developed and diverse. One of them is interactive learning about nature also hones their concern for the natural flora and fauna as well. The Green School Bali school building is one of the potential large-scale buildings with bamboo architecture that is renewable, elastic and not easy to break. In this study, the researcher wanted to explore the effectiveness of the bamboo design with a parametric design method. This research uses qualitative methods with literature studies and design simulations. Rhinoceros and grasshopper are used as a study tool to implement the parameters of the building's parametric design. The results of the study are expected to show the speed and efficiency of this application so that it can get an overview of the design process in the future.

Abstract

In patients with schizophrenia, hallucinations can trigger emotional dysregulation such as uncontrollable anger, potentially leading to violent behavior. This is often triggered by hallucinations of voices that are perceived to be mocking, although not real. Such anger can be harmful to oneself and the environment. Research shows that construction materials affect psychological well-being through sensory stimulation, which can exacerbate or relieve stress. This qualitative research uses a case study of the observation room at Bali Mental Health Clinic, focusing on whether the selection of finishing materials is in accordance with the Ministry of Health's inpatient facilities standards. The analysis was conducted through field observations and literature studies. The study results show that the materials used are mostly in accordance with health standards. The researcher recommends the use of safer materials to improve the safety of the observation room for patients.

Abstract

Community health centres  play a strategic role in Indonesia’s primary healthcare system by providing various prevention programs, health promotion, and basic medical treatment. However, many Puskesmas facilities still face challenges in interior design, which affect patients comfort and the effectiveness of medical staff operations. These conditions lead to suboptimal healthcare services and user experience. Therefore, a design approach that prioritizes the users needs is essential to create a more functional and comfortable environment. One of the methods that can be applied is Human-Centered Design (HCD), which focuses on ergonomic, psychological and functional aspects to develop an interior design that better adapts to the needs of patients and healthcare workers. This approach not only enhances the aesthetic quality of the space but also improves operational efficiency and user comfort. This study explores the application of the HCD concept in optimizing the interior design of Puskesmas Baturiti 1. The methods used include direct observation, interviews, surveys, and literature analysis on healthcare facility design. The expected outcome of this research is to develop a interior design that enhances efficiency, improves lighting quality, and fosters an atmosphere that supports the comfort and productivity of both patients and medical personnel.

Abstract

Green architecture is an approach to building design and construction that aims to reduce negative impacts on the environment while creating healthier and more efficient spaces for its users. This approach prioritizes the principle of investment by maximizing the use of resources, reducing energy consumption, managing air efficiently, and utilizing environmentally friendly materials. The goal is to create buildings that can support ecological balance, reduce carbon footprints, and provide long-term benefits for both humans and nature. The concept of green architecture plays a crucial role in addressing pollution in Jakarta, a city that is grappling with air and environmental pollution problems due to rapid urbanization. One of the key elements of green architecture is greenery, including the application of vegetation to buildings such as green roofs. These plants function to absorb pollutants, produce oxygen, and help lower the temperature of the city, thus contributing
