Abstract

At this time the population is increasing, along with this the needs of society are also increasing. The community is starting to carry out various kinds of development to meet these needs, one of which is in the residential sector, namely apartments. Apartments are the choice of urban communities as a place to live because of their strategic location and offering various facilities. As a place to live, apartments need to prioritize comfort in order to improve the quality of life of their users. Bioclimatic architecture is a concept for creating a building that responds to the surrounding climate so that there is a balance between humans and the environment. The design principle of bioclimatic architecture is to prioritize climate adjustment to achieve energy efficiency and thermal comfort. This research examines the concept of bioclimatic architecture by taking the One East Surabaya Apartment as an object. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with secondary data collection through sources in the form of literature studies. The aim of this research is to identify and provide insight regarding the application of the concept of bioclimatic architecture based on aspects of the principles of bioclimatic architecture in apartment buildings. From the results of this research, it was found that the One East Surabaya Apartment has met bioclimatic building standards obtained from the transition space/balcony, relationship to the landscape, design on the walls and the use of passive shading tools.

Abstract

The sensory system is an effort created to increase intelligence for children, one of which is through rides. Visitors to Taman Prestasi are predominantly aged 24-120 months, guided by parents. Taman Prestasi as a children's companion facility should be able to reveal how multisensory principles are applied to hone intelligence not only with theory, but great intelligence in the real world. The research aims to describe the extent of multisensory principles in the park design, by analyzing aspects of children's multiple intelligence consisting of visual-spatial, linguistic, gestural, mathematical logic, musical, intrapersonal, interpersonal, and naturalist intelligence. It is expected that Taman Prestasi can support the stimulation of children to achieve multiple intelligence. The research used descriptive method of qualitative approach by comparing journal samples and combining observations by means of interviews and observations of a sample of 10 children aged 12-72 months divided into 2 age ranges. The results of the study explained that in terms of macro, Taman Prestasi rides meet the criteria of multisensory architecture, but in micro the rides only apply some multisensory theories so that the stimulation of multiple intelligence is less realized.

This aim of this research is to analyze local identity presented in arts and culture center buildings as an effort to preserve local culture or identity. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach with a case study method. This research takes a case study covering 2 objects, namely the Yogyakarta Cultural Park and the Radjawali Semarang Cultural Center Building. So the data was collected through literature study, observation and interviews. The research results show that by presenting local identity at the arts and culture center as an educational facility the aim is to preserve local arts and culture and commemorate the history of the building. In addition, by presenting local identity in the architectural form of these two objects, it shows the differences and uniqueness of each in promoting and preserving local arts and culture.

Abstract

Edu-tourism is a tourist activity that is carried out with the aim of providing a fun and useful learning experience. The development of edu-tourism areas often causes negative impacts on the environment, such as ecosystem degradation and natural damage. Kampung Coklat in Blitar is one of the edu-tourism destinations that attracts the attention of many people, especially students and tourists who want to learn about the process of making chocolate. This research aims to evaluate the extent to which ecological architecture principles have been applied in the development of the area. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with inductive analysis, which combines observational data and literature theories. The findings can serve as a foundation for further development in the management of edu-tourism areas in Kampung Coklat and other similar areas.

Abstract

The demand for air transportation continues to increase every year. To meet consumer demand, the Indonesian government is expanding the scale of airport development in Indonesia, especially in the East Kalimantan region. In the process of implementation, this development has a negative impact on the environment because the large use of energy in airports contributes to the occurrence of GHG emissions. In this case, the role of architecture is considered capable of minimizing negative environmental impacts by applying the concept of environmentally friendly architecture. The concept of environmentally friendly architecture considers the use of energy, maximization of sunlight, and utilization of water conservation in buildings. This study aims to assess the extent to which the application of green building aspects in the SAMS Sepinggan airport building. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with secondary data collection from relevant literature research, such as journals, web, and articles. Then, for each criterion, a suitability analysis was conducted using the Greenship standard for new buildings version 1.2. The results of this study indicate that Sultan aji Muhammad sepinggan Airport can already be considered as a green concept building. by obtaining an assessment of 35 points, which already meets the minimum points to get a bronze predicate as a building that applies the green building concept.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are the key to maintaining coastal ecosystems. However, mangrove forests in Indonesia itself have been reduced due to the reasonable transfer of land from tree felling due to infrastructure development. Meanwhile, a conservation architectural design approach that focuses on creating a balanced and mutualistic relationship in buildings with nature and surrounding living things has not yet been developed. Kisho Kurokawa's symbiotic theory and the concept of architectural biomimetics have similar principles in creating a beneficial relationship between humans and nature, aiming to preserve nature in architectural design. The aim of this study is to develop an architectural approach by comparing the principles of symbiosis and biomimetic for mangrove conservation design. The research method starts from studying and comparing the principles of symbiotic and biomimetic design, then the data results are examined whether they have been applied in the Surabaya Mangrove Botanical Garden. This comparison resulted in six a mangrove conservation design strategy, there are aspects of natural forms, connecting humans with nature, raising traditional aspects of the environment, natural materials, adapting to the environment, and maintaining sustainability. These six aspects improve traditional values ranging from social and cultural while maintaining the surrounding mangrove environment.
