Abstract

As a generation that lives in the era of technological development, Generation Z sees smartphones no longer as devices but more as a lifestyle. The rapid growth of technology makes the smartphones that they hold offer many innovations that can facilitate all aspects of their lives, including worship by reading the Al-Qur'an through Islamic applications. It is believed that an Islamic application with various features and flexibility can improve the user's Al-Qur'an reading ability, especially the technology-savvy Generation Z. By involving 85 Muslim respondents of generation Z through an online survey, this study seeks to find out how practical Islamic applications are to increase the skills of reading the Al-Qur'an for generation Z Muslims. Various opinions of respondents are presented and then categorized so that these opinions result from a percentage stating that Islamic applications are declared quite effective to improve Gen Z's skills in reading the Al-Qur'an.

Abstract

This study aimed to elaborate the thoughts of Muhammad Sa'īd Ramadhān al-Būthī regarding women and Islamic teachings that are considered discriminatory against women. As for several Islamic teachings discussed in this study, specifically hijab, women's leadership, inheritance rights, and polygamy. This research is library research and uses a qualitative approach. The theory used in this research is Hans George Gadamer's theory of effective hermeneutics. The results of this study are: 1) Hijab does not isolate women from all activities in life. But an extreme understanding of QS. an-Nur: 31 that caused disturbance to women which led to the decline of Islam; 2) Women's leadership is justified as long as they are not the head of state with certain conditions; 3) QS. an-Nisa: 11 (li adz-dzakar mitsl haẓẓi al-untsayayn) is not a general rule in the distribution of inheritance. This rule only applies in certain conditions; 4) Polygamy is questioned by Western feminists because of the fundamental differences in perceptions between Islam and the West in seeing the essence and concept of marriage and adultery; 5) True equality is equality that does not contradict the nature that God has given to humans.

Abstract

Actions of radicalism and terrorism have hurt Muslims and placed them at fault. The teachings of jihad in Islam are often the target of accusations of being the leading cause of violence in the name of religion. Many Islamic teachings direct a Muslim to be moderate. This article explains the verses and hadiths related to Moderate Islam's character and describes the implementation process in PAI learning in public universities. This research is qualitative research by reviewing the verses of the Quran and hadith and observations on the implementation process through Islamic learning in several universities on the island of Java. The results show that the characteristics of moderate Muslims in the Quranic hadith lead to Muslims who can balance their attitudes and views. At the same time, the implementation process is realized through the PAI curriculum, which contains Islamic moderation values, supported by moderate lecturers, which directs students to understand Islamic teachings textually and contextually.

Abstract

The nature of scientific verification of knowledge distinguishes it from mystical knowledge in empirical sciences. Islam is a religion and a civilization, historically connecting various stages of human history for more than fourteen centuries. The Islamic ethics and law “Sharia’h” are coherent legal system to protect private property within a comprehensive and rational system. Capitalism and the industrial revolution of western world dramatically transformed resulting in a socio-economic schism consequently emerged as a domineer for existence and affected the Islamic world. The secular and rationalized legal framework needed capitalism, which is incompatible with the nature of Islamic law. The western science in this civilization is also separated from morality and noble values because it has adopted materialistic philosophies and ideologies, such as Pragmatism, Darwinism, Existentialism and any other philosophy that is against the Islamic religion. keywords: Islamic civilization, western world, empirical sciences, Islamic ethics, Islamic law “Shari’ah”, materialistic, human History.

Abstract

This paper explores women's genitalia as far as QS sees it. al-Ahzab [33] verse 59. The specific explanation is related to the use of the veil, which is widespread in the Indonesian context. This study uses a thematic analysis method of the verses of the Qur'an, and it is concluded that there are differences of opinion regarding women's genitalia, especially regarding the face and palms, whether they are classified as aurat or not. This difference then developed in the legal issue of wearing the veil for women. Regarding the use of the veil, scholars consider social conditions so that there are scholars who require women to wear the veil since there has been a lot of slander spread in the community. Some scholars do not require women to wear the veil because the veil is considered a culture that grows from the local culture. However, wearing the veil for women remains relevant in Indonesia because, in addition to the veil protecting women from naughty views of the opposite sex, it will also affect their subconscious to improve religious practices in their lives.

Abstract

Tik Tok is a new platform that young people love, and kids are no exception. This platform encompasses all levels of society, including adults and even the elderly. TikTok has both positive and negative sides like any other medium. Therefore, this study aims to determine the understanding of the community, especially the people of Palopo, about the benefits of Tik Tok and how to use it. This research is a field study with the people of Palopo city as informants for interviews and documentation. As a result, Tik Tok is used more than a means of entertainment, which sometimes leads to verbal and physical disrespectful behaviour. Some opinions say that Tik Tok is an online media short video that shows recordings of dancing and showing TikTok-er's genitals. The people of Palopo city consider TikTokers more for entertainment filled with dancing. Therefore, it is necessary to limit access to various media, including TikTok, so as not to be carried away by immoral behaviour. Thus, the Qur'an is the key and a solution to protect yourself by not showing your aurat. It means that Tik Tok may dive without showing aurat and indulgence in lust. For further researchers, it is necessary to research the effects caused by the application and the solution before and after being exposed to the syndrome.
