Abstract

Abstract: Stress can affect mental states in adolescents, especially students. Stress in Purbalingga Regency has a prevalence of 62.5%. This condition can be affected by a variety of factors. Islam provides one of the solutions to relieve stress, namely by getting closer to Allah, one of which is by performing tahajud prayers. Most studies have looked more at stress in college students than in college students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the intensity of tahajud prayer and the stress level of grade IX students of Istiqomah Sambas Boarding School Purbalingga. The method used was observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. The technique in the study was a total sampling with a total of 118 respondents and 92 respondents were included in the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The intensity of tahajud prayer was measured by a questionnaire on the intensity of tahajud prayer and the level of stress with a DASS scale of 42. Relationship analysis using the Spearman rank test. The intensity of tahajud prayer was mostly included in the good category, which was 36 students (39.1%) and the stress level of the majority of students was included in the normal category, which was 30 students (32.6%). The Spearman rank test showed a p-value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient value of -0.743. There is a significant relationship between the intensity of tahajud prayer and the level of stress with the direction of a negative correlation, which means that the higher the intensity of tahajud prayer, the lower the student's stress level.

Abstract

Abstract: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) or what we now know as Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a viral infection that has hit the world in the last three years. The management of patients confirmed with COVID-19 continues to be researched. Vitamin C is one of the therapies that can be given to COVID-19 patients from mild to severe or critical degrees. Vitamin C is an antioxidant whose function can reduce oxidative inflammation and greatly affect the human immune system. The dose of vitamin C administration in COVID-19 patients can be given up to high doses. Due to the protective properties of vitamin C, it can affect the treatment period of COVID-19 patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between vitamin C consumption and the length of treatment of COVID-19 patients at DR Pirngadi General Hospital. This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. A total of 66 samples were obtained divided into low and high doses of vitamin C which were then analyzed using Chi Square. The results of the study found that there was a significant result (P=0.039) in the relationship between vitamin C consumption and the treatment period of COVID-19 patients. Vitamin C consumption affects the treatment period.

Abstract

Abstract: The significant decline in the number of patient visits at Beutong Public Health Centre, Beutong Subdistrict, Nagan Raya District, which reached 73% between 2021 and 2022, serves as a critical backdrop for this study. This research aims to analyse the factors influencing healthcare service quality and patients' revisit interest by focusing on five key service dimensions: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles. The study is descriptive-analytical and was conducted at the Beutong Public Health Centre from March to April 2024. The sample consisted of 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data were collected through questionnaires and secondary data from the health centre and analysed using SPSS version 24. The results showed that all five dimensions of healthcare service—reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles—influence patients' revisit interest. Specifically, the assurance variable had the most significant impact, with 77% of respondents indicating positive revisit interest. Reliability influenced 69% of respondents, empathy 68%, tangibles 63%, and responsiveness 53%. However, statistical analysis revealed that only assurance had a statistically significant effect (p 0.05), while reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and tangibles did not show significant influence (p 0.05). Based on these findings, it is recommended that Beutong Public Health Centre improve healthcare service quality by focusing on enhancing staff reliability through regular training, strengthening responsive communication channels to address patient complaints, improving staff credibility and professionalism through certification and continuous training, and upgrading the physical facilities of the health centre.

Abstract

Abstract: Lactobacillus species are the most frequent bacterial colonies in the human microbiome that can be found in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and vaginal microbiota. Lactobacillus gasseri is an important constituent of the female urogenital tract. if there is excessive proliferation of Lactobacillus, there will be changes in the homeostasis of the human microbiome. Homeostasis of the human microbiome can undermine the symbiotic relationship between host and microorganisms, induce physiological changes in the individual, and lead to the development of diseases such as to the development of diseases such as cancer. Legundi fruit extract was found to be cytotoxic against several lines of cancer cells and has antimicrobial activity. This research aims to determine the diameter of antibacterial inhibition of Legundi fruit extract, and determine the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC), minimum kill concentration (MKC) against Lactobacillus gasseri. This research used solid and liquid dilution and diffusion methods with concentrations of 10%, 20%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, positive and negative controls. Extract of Legundi fruit can’t inhibit bacterial growth at concentrations of 10% and 20%. The longest diameter was in the positive control with streptomycin. The higher the concentration of Legundi fruit ethanol extract given, the higher the inhibition ability.

Abstract

Abstract: Typhoid fever is a gastrointestinal infection caused by Sallmonellal typhi and Sallmonella serovar Paratyphi A (an important inhibitor of typhoid fever). Typhoid fever can be diagnosed based on clinical signs and symptoms, and laboratory tests. Leukopenia occurs due to the invasion of the bacterium Salmonella typhi into hematopoietic organs such as lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and bone marrow, thereby inhibiting hematopoiesis. The decrease in platelet production in the bone marrow is caused by viral infections, the destruction of platelet precursor cells in the bone marrow, radiation, aplastic bone marrow, bone marrow disorders or cancers, and other conditions that inhibit cell production in the bone marrow. This study aims to determine the relationship between total leukocyte count and platelet count in relation to Tubex-TF positivity in typhoid patients at RSUD dr. Pirngadi Medan from 2018 to 2021.This research uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of typhoid patients at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan from 2018-2021, which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, totaling 71 patients.Analysis of the data was conducted using the chi-square test for both univariate and bivariate analyses. The total leukocyte count was found to be elevated in the case of a positive Tubex-TF in a patient with typhoid fever.

Abstract

Abstract: The shape of the pedis arcus affects the way of walking. Abnormal pedis arcus results in an unstable position of the legs as a body support when walking. This can cause several complaints such as imbalance, fatigue during long walks, pain and injury. Walking is one way to measure a person's fitness level. This study analyzes the relationship between the shape of the pedis arcus based on the foot print test and the VO2 Max value of FK UMSU students. This research is observational and analytical with a cross-sectional approach. The footprint test was carried out on 67 respondents followed by Clarke's angle measurement to determine the type of arcus pedis for each respondent. The body weight was then measured, followed by a six-minute walking test (6MWT) to obtain a VO2 Max value. The results obtained were that 36 (53.7%) respondents had a normal pedis arcus shape (normal foot), 13 (19.4%) high pedis arcus shape (cavus foot), and 18 (26.9%) flat foot arcus pedis shape. The results of the Somers'd test were symmetrical (P = 0.353), arcus pedis dependent (P = 0.353), and VO2 Max dependent (P = 0.353). A P-value 0.05 means that the variable of the shape of the arcus pedis and the fitness level (Vo2max value) is not proven to affect each other, so it can be concluded that the shape of the arcus pedis is not related to a person's fitness level.

Abstract

Abstract : Health in this world is now affected by obesity. Excessive fat accumulation resulting from a long-term mismatch between calorie intake and energy expenditure is known as obesity. Obesity is considered to exist if the body mass index (BMI) is more than 30 kg/m2. Increased visceral fat is linked to metabolic disorders, which can worsen insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance, thereby increasing blood sugar levels. Prediabetes, which will eventually lead to diabetes mellitus, is a risk factor for this disease. Impaired glucose tolerance or impaired fasting blood sugar levels are symptoms of prediabetes. This research aims to understand the relationship between abdominal circumference and the prevalence of prediabetes in the working area of the UPTD Sipea Puskesmas kacang. The research method used is analytical descriptive research, with a cross sectional study research design, where the researcher only studies the subject once at a certain time. This research was conducted at the PTM Posbindu UPTD Sipea Pea in West Sorkam District, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. Based on the results of the Spearman test, 50 respondents met the prediabetes criteria, with 11 respondents having a percentage of 22% and 39 respondents having a percentage of 78%. The p-value = 0.041. There is a significant relationship between abdominal circumference and the incidence of prediabetes at UPTD Sipea Health Center

Abstract

Abstract: Reading the Qur'an is a form of dhikr and as a meditation in positive benefits for the body. Hypertension is a condition when blood pressure in tFaculty of Medicine he blood vessels increases chronically at 140/90 mmHg. The prevalence rate in Binjai City in 2016 was found to be 366 hypertension patients. Therapy to read the Qur'an harmoniously and carefully can improve biochemistry in the body that lowers blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of reading the Qur'an on reducing blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension at the Binjai Elderly Social Service Unit. This study uses a type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method  with a non-randommized pre test-post test control group design. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an average difference between the intervention and control groups, where the systolic mean was 143.25 and diastolic 88.37, while the systolic and diastolic mean of the control group were 150.43 and 94.75. This is because the verses of the Qur'an read by hypertensive patients can activate endorphins naturally, thereby increasing feelings of relaxation and lowering blood pressure. It was found that  the P value in the final systolic variable was 0.034 which means that there was a mean difference between the final systolic in the intervention group and the control group because P was 0.05, while the P value in the final diastolic variable was 0.001 which can be concluded that there is a significant mean difference between the final systolic of the intervention group and the control group because of P 0.05. Based on this study, it was found that the majority of hypertension is found in women and 60-74 years old. There was a difference in average blood pressure in the intervention and control groups.

Abstract

Abstract: Nutritional status is known to influence low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels. It can be assessed by measuring body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). Individuals with obesity are at greater risk of having elevated LDL levels compared to those with normal nutritional status. In women, hormonal changes, particularly during menopause, can affect lipid metabolism and contribute to higher LDL levels. This study aimed to examine the correlation between BMI, WC, and MUAC with LDL levels in women aged 30-50 years. This descriptive-analytical study used a cross-sectional design involving 38 females’ subjects aged 30-50 years old. Anthropometric measurements and LDL levels were recorded. Pearson’s correlation test was used for data analysis. The results showed a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between BMI and LDL (p = 0,034, r = 0,344), WC and LDL (p= 0,035, r=0,344), and MUAC and LDL (p = 0,046, r = 0,326). This study found a correlation between BMI, WC, and MUAC on LDL levels.
