Abstract

STAI Muhammadiyah Probolinggo carries out the Catur Darma of Higher Education policy by adding Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan as the fourth dharma. This policy is explained through the institution's mandatory course, namely Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) which must be taken by all students, including Muslims from Muhammadiyah and non-Muhammadiyah backgrounds. This research focuses on two aspects: (1) the AIK policy at STAI Muhammadiyah Probolinggo, and (2) the implementation of the AIK policy for students with non-Muhammadiyah backgrounds. This research is qualitative, using observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The research results show that (1) students from non-Muhammadiyah backgrounds are required to take AIK courses, with lecturers paying attention to proportions, material presented, and local context; and (2) the AIK learning model involves rules of study, which changes the doctrinal approach to a dialogical one, namely using a theory-based curriculum approachWasathiyah as the main analytical tool.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a variety of cultures or often referred to as multicultural. In this research, the author is interested in discussing one of the cultures in Indonesia, namely the Markobar tradition in Mandailing tribal communities. The Mandailing tribe is one of the various ethnicities in Indonesia. The majority of the people of this tribe inhabit the Mandailing Natal Regency area, North Sumatra Province. Simply put in Mandailing language, Markobar means to speak. This shows that Markobar is the local wisdom of Mandailing tribal people in the form of oral tradition. Local wisdom is a cultural element that must be explored, studied, and revitalized because its essence is so important in strengthening the foundation of national identity in facing the challenges of globalization. The question that arises next is by looking at the rapid development of technology and science whether the Markobar tradition is able to maintain its existence in the midst of globalization.

Abstract

The still high level of corruption among people's leaders in Indonesia shows the importance of reviewing the criteria for candidates for people's leaders in this country. In reality, the candidate criteria that have been set so far in the elections have not provided a positive assessment of the leaders who have been elected so far. On this basis, new views are needed to offer criteria for more ideal leaders in the future. Regarding this leadership problem, Ibn Taymiyyah, a great Islamic figure, gave the idea of the concept of an ideal leader in a country. Therefore, this paper aims to intensively reveal Ibn Taymiyyah's political thinking on leadership issues. Next, the author analyzes his thoughts on how relevant they are to the criteria for potential leaders of the people in Indonesia. This research is library research and the data sources used consist of primary data sources from Ibn Taimiyyah's works related to the concept of leadership and secondary data sources, namely books, which are relevant to this research to strengthen arguments and to complement the data from research result. The data analysis technique used by the author in this research is content analysis. The results that the author got from this study are as follows. First, Ibn Taymiyyah paid great attention to the religious aspects of a leader in his political thinking. Second, for Ibnu Taimiyyah, a leader must have at least two criteria which he calls quwwah and amanah. Third, this view is worth reading and reviewing to provide an alternative view for determining the criteria for a more ideal leader candidate in Indonesia. Based on these findings, the author hopes that there will be further studies to determine practical indicators in Ibnu Taymiyyah's ideas so that these ideas are easier to implement in political conditions in Indonesia
