Abstract

This study explores the role of human resource management policies specifically promotion, demotion, and transfer in enhancing professionalism and teaching quality in the education sector. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, the research synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed journals and credible sources. The results highlight that promotion significantly improves educator motivation, job satisfaction, and commitment to professional growth, especially when based on clear performance metrics and transparent procedures. Demotion, when applied fairly and proportionately, functions as a corrective measure to uphold institutional accountability and teaching standards. Meanwhile, transfer policies contribute to organizational agility, equitable workforce distribution, and career development, particularly in addressing staffing imbalances across educational units. The study concludes that these policies are most effective when grounded in competency-based evaluations, supported by ongoing professional development, and implemented through transparent and communicative institutional practices. These strategies not only improve individual performance but also cultivate a dynamic, professional, and high-performing educational environment.

Abstract

The research is titled “The Relationship Between Smartphone Addiction and Academic Procrastination Behavior Among Students.” The aim of this study is to assess whether there is a correlation between the level of smartphone addiction and academic procrastination behavior among students of the Guidance and Islamic Counseling Study Program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The population of this research consists of all students from the 2022 cohort of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program, totaling 81 students; thus, the sampling technique used in this study is probability sampling (random sampling), amounting to 55 students. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire comprising 23 statements, with the decision-making basis being if rCount > rTable, then the statement is considered valid. The data analysis technique utilized the Pearson product-moment correlation test, with the decision rule being if the value of the Pearson product-moment correlation > rTable, then there is a relationship between the two variables. The findings of this research indicate that the Pearson correlation value (0.606) > rTable (0.266), with the interpretation value falling within the interval of 0.61 to 0.80. Based on the hypothesis testing results obtained by the researcher, it was found that there is a relationship between the level of smartphone addiction and academic procrastination behavior among students of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This is evidenced by the Pearson correlation value (r) of 0.606, indicating a "strong" relationship between the two variables, with the correlation being positive; in other words, as the level of smartphone addiction increases, the level of academic procrastination among students also increases.

Abstract

Literacy skills are an important foundation in character building and mastery of knowledge in the 21st century. According to a survey conducted by the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) in 2022, it was revealed that the literacy rate in Indonesia is still relatively low and is a major challenge, especially in the education sector. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems and determine the factors that cause low levels of student literacy and to develop strategies to foster reading literacy habits among students at MTs Al Hidayah. The research methods used include observation, interviews and literature reviews. The results of this study explain that internal factors such as lack of motivation and low interest in reading, as well as external factors such as technological advances and developments that divert students' attention and limited literacy facilities are the main obstacles to low student interest in reading. The solution is to overcome low student literacy by implementing the School Literacy Movement (GLS), optimizing library facilities, and the importance of the active role of teachers in cultivating reading, as well as synergy between families, schools, and communities in order to encourage the growth and development of literacy in the school environment and build a generation with more character. To follow up on the results of this study, recommendations are needed from various institutions.

Abstract

In today's modern era, especially with the development of technology and the rise of social media, many individuals are increasingly exposed to standards of beauty or ideal body shape, which are often unrealistic. One of the negative impacts of this phenomenon is the increasing incidence of body shaming, which is the act of shaming or criticizing people based on their physical appearance, such as body shape, weight, skin color, or other physical characteristics. Body shaming can happen anytime and anywhere, it can also be in various environments, both on social media, school, friends, and family. According to research conducted by Sahrina, body shaming has a negative impact on victims which can cause victims to experience decreased physical health and insomnia. In psychological explanation, people who are victims of body shaming can trigger depression, excessive anxiety and have thoughts of committing suicide. [1] It is undeniable that this act of body shaming can make victims blame themselves and punish themselves. When someone has become a victim of this body shaming treatment, they will tend to feel ashamed. Just like someone gets comments because their body looks fat, they will try to diet to become thin.

Abstract

This study explores the application of marriage simulation as an innovative method for understanding fiqh munaqahat in higher education, specifically in Islamic Education programs. Fiqh munaqahat, which deals with marriage, divorce, and the rights and duties of spouses according to Islamic law, often presents challenges for students who struggle to connect theoretical knowledge to practical life situations. The marriage simulation offers a solution by allowing students to actively engage in all stages of the marriage process, from the akad nikah (marriage contract) to the ceremonial hajatan (wedding reception), applying Islamic principles in a real-world context. This hands-on experience enriches students’ understanding of the complexities of marital life, enhances their practical skills, and prepares them for the future responsibilities of marriage, making the learning process more applicable and engaging. The study emphasizes the benefits of this method, not only in deepening theoretical knowledge but also in providing crucial emotional and social skills necessary for successful relationships.

Abstract

Conflict in educational settings is a natural phenomenon that requires effective management to create a conducive learning climate. This research analyzes conflict management approaches in education through a systematic literature review using the PRISMA method. Data were retrieved from Google Scholar using Publish or Perish (PoP), resulting in 200 articles. After selection, the last 15 articles of the last 5 years were selected as the sample through identification, screening, and eligibility processes. Results showed conflicts arose due to differences in values, ineffective communication, unfair distribution of resources, and academic pressure. A collaborative approach involving all stakeholders (teachers, students, parents, school management) is effective in resolving conflicts constructively. Conflict has a dual impact: it can drive innovation or reduce productivity if unmanaged. A systematic process-from problem identification to solution evaluation-is key to success. Bruce Tuckman's team development model (Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, Adjourning) emphasizes conflict as a natural stage that strengthens teamwork. In conclusion, effective conflict management not only resolves problems, but also optimizes the potential of conflict as an opportunity for the development of educational institutions. Practical recommendations include conflict resolution training, collaborative approaches, and strengthening communication between parties for a harmonious and productive learning environment.

Abstract

Ma'na cum maghzāh approach initiated by Prof. Sahiron Syamsuddin. This research is based on the understanding that fasting is not just a ritual of holding back hunger and thirst, but rather a form of worship that contains deep spiritual, social, and moral dimensions. Through the ma'na cum maghzāh method, this article explores the literal meaning (ma'na) of the verse and explores the goals, wisdom, and moral messages (maghzāh) that are relevant to the challenges of contemporary life. The results of the study show that fasting, as mandated in the Qur'an, has the ultimate goal of achieving piety, which is not only vertical (relationship with Allah) but also horizontal (social relations). This approach interprets fasting as a means of tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) and character formation that has implications for the creation of spiritual and social awareness, fostering empathy, justice, self-control, and social solidarity. This article concludes that a contextual understanding of fasting through the lens of ma'na cum maghzāh can present a more applicable and transformative meaning of worship for Muslims in facing the complexities of modern life.
