Abstract

Leadership plays a crucial role in running an institution, be it an educational institution, social organization, or government agency. An effective leader is not only able to direct the vision and mission of the institution, but can also inspire and motivate team members to work together to achieve common goals. The inability of a leader to carry out his duties can have fatal consequences, which at one time can determine the success or failure of the institution as a whole. Therefore, an effective, fast, and responsive leader is needed to maximize the performance of an institution. Understanding Islamic educational leadership from a prophetic perspective is urgent in the midst of these challenges. Emulating the Prophet Muhammad SAW allows us to explore holistic and sustainable solutions. The prophetic perspective provides a strong moral foundation and a leadership model that has proven effective in overcoming human problems. Therefore, this study has practical relevance in answering the challenges of contemporary Islamic education. This paper will discuss the characteristics of prophetic leadership, with the hope of providing better insight into leading educational institutions today.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the protection of citizenship status in Indonesian national law as part of human rights, with a focus on the implementation of Article 15(2) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which prohibits arbitrary deprivation of citizenship. The method used is a normative approach by analysing the laws and regulations governing citizenship in Indonesia and comparing them with the international principles in the UDHR. The results show that although Indonesia has regulated citizenship as a protected right, there are challenges in the implementation of these protections, such as administrative problems of citizenship, dual citizenship, and non-transparent loss of citizenship. The contribution of this research is to provide insight into the importance of protecting citizenship as a human right in the context of national and international law, and to suggest reforms to the administration of citizenship in order to guarantee this right more effectively.

Abstract

Management strategies in the development of education in madrasas play an important role in improving the quality of educational institutions and their relevance in facing the challenges of globalization and modernization. This research aims to analyze the strategies implemented by madrasas in developing education, including improving the curriculum, competency of teaching staff, and improving the welfare of teaching staff. The research was carried out with a quantitative approach that focused on collecting and analyzing numerical data to identify patterns, relationships or comparisons within certain populations in the Diniah madrasah in the Suranenggala sub-district, Cirebon Regency. The research results show that the development of education in madrasas is carried out through several main strategies: first, improving the quality of the curriculum by integrating religious material; second, recruitment and development of teacher competency to increase the professionalism of teaching staff; and third, strategies to improve the welfare of teaching staff and physical madrasa facilities. However, there are several obstacles, such as limited teacher educators who are competent in their fields, financial support and parental support for early madrasah education, which hinder the implementation of this strategy. This research recommends continued support from the government and community to maximize strategic efforts in developing quality madrasah.

Abstract

The Qur'an, as the holy scripture, contains teachings for practicing Islam as a religion of rahmatan lil 'alamin (mercy for all worlds). One of these teachings is the prohibition of riba (usury), with the verses concerning riba being among the last legal verses revealed before the passing of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). These verses are often accompanied by Allah’s warnings. According to the asbab al-nuzul (circumstances of revelation) of Surah Al-Baqarah verses 278 and 279, it is narrated that the Bani Mughirah were significantly affected by riba, leading them to lament, "We are the most miserable people because of riba." On the other hand, Bani Amr felt they could live comfortably by exploiting riba. In Surah Al-Baqarah verse 275, the Qur'an describes those who engage in riba transactions as being akin to a staggering individual. The term "staggering" refers to the condition of those who engage in riba transactions pretending to stand firm when, in reality, they are unstable. The purpose of this study is to explore the concept of riba in the Qur'an and its impact on life by analyzing the asbab al-nuzul of the verses concerning riba. This research employs a descriptive-qualitative method aimed at understanding the concept of riba in the Qur'an and its implications for life. The findings of this study reveal that riba is one of the practices strongly condemned in the Qur'an. This is evident from the frequent association of riba with Allah’s warnings. These warnings are not without reason, as the practice of riba has significant detrimental effects, including moral, psychological, social, and economic harm, as highlighted in one of the narratives related to the asbab al-nuzul of the verses on riba.
