Abstract

The rising cases of stress, anxiety, and mental health disorders highlight the growing need for inner tranquillity. The Qur’an introduces the concept of al-thuma’ninah, yet its meanings across different verses have not been comprehensively examined through the lens of classical exegesis. Previous studies largely focus on semantic or contemporary approaches, leaving a gap in understanding how classical scholars conceptualised thuma’ninah. This study addresses this gap by analysing the meaning of al-thuma’ninah according to al-Qurtubi’s Tafsir al-Jami‘ li Ahkam al-Qur’an, using qualitative library research and thematic analysis of Qur’anic verses derived from the root ط-م-أ-ن. The research aims to identify the categories of thuma’ninah and explore their relevance to mental health. The findings show that al-thuma’ninah is a multidimensional concept encompassing epistemological reassurance, psychospiritual calm, steadfast faith under pressure, social stability, and illusory worldly tranquillity. These results affirm its relevance as a spiritual foundation for modern mental well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of psychological approaches in enhancing learning effectiveness at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Pesantren Persatuan Islam (Persis) 88 in Cimahi City. The psychological approach utilized involves a comprehensive understanding of students' psychological needs, such as motivation, emotions, and interpersonal relationships, to support the teaching and learning process. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The results show that the consistent application of psychological approaches can increase student engagement, improve interaction patterns between teachers and students, and foster a conducive learning atmosphere. Key factors supporting the success of this approach include teachers' competence in understanding students' psychological aspects, the use of adaptive teaching strategies, and a learning environment that accommodates students' emotional needs. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for other educational institutions in optimizing learning effectiveness through psychological approaches.

Abstract

Advances in information and communication technology, particularly in the form of artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT, have brought significant changes to the world of education, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze the use of ChatGPT by 7th-Semester Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students in Class D, 2024, at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, focusing on its suitability with the foundations of Islamic Education. This technology, although offering easy access and efficiency in learning, is not designed to consider profound Islamic values, such as wisdom, etiquette, and tawhid, which are the basic principles of Islamic education. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 34 PAI students. The analysis results show that students tend to use ChatGPT in a positive and responsible manner, despite the potential for dependence on this technology, which can reduce the depth of understanding of the study of the Qur'an and Hadith. With a very high reliability of the research instrument (0.946), these findings indicate that the use of ChatGPT can enrich the learning of PAI students, provided that it continues to consider the principles of Islamic education in its application. This research confirms that technology integration in Islamic education, when conducted with moral and ethical awareness, can enrich learning without neglecting essential religious values. Going forward, technology integration, such as ChatGPT, in Islamic education can continue to be developed while maintaining harmony between technological innovation and Islamic scientific principles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the small dynasties that emerged in the western and eastern regions of Baghdad during the Abbasid Caliphate. Using a qualitative descriptive method and a literature study approach, this research collects data from various literature sources such as books, journals, and relevant articles. The analysis is carried out through stages of reduction, categorization, and interpretation of the collected literature. The main focus of this study is on the basic principles of developing teaching materials that are relevant to the curriculum, effectiveness, efficiency, as well as theoretical approaches in the fields of education, language, and teaching material development. The small dynasties that emerged as a result of political disintegration in the 10th century demonstrate how local groups such as the Persians and Turks established dynasties like the Tahirid, Saffarid, and Samanid in the eastern region of Baghdad, and the Idrisid, Aghlabid, and Tulunid in the western region of Baghdad. Although most of these dynasties did not last long, they played an important role in maintaining regional stability and introducing semi-autonomous governance that connected peripheral regions with the center of the caliphate. This study is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the political dynamics during the disintegration of the Abbasid Caliphate and its contribution to the development of Islamic civilization at that time.

Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of the multicultural-based Independent Learning Curriculum at SMPN 7 Mataram as a strategy to improve academic achievement and build students' tolerant character. Education in Indonesia faces challenges in developing a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also has strong character amidst diversity. The Merdeka Belajar curriculum provides freedom for teachers and schools to adapt learning materials and methods according to student needs, while the multicultural approach aims to instill values of tolerance and respect for differences. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that SMPN 7 Mataram integrates multicultural values in the curriculum through project-based learning, cooperative learning, and inquiry- based approaches. Apart from that, extracurricular activities and cultural programs also contribute to shaping student character. The implementation of this curriculum not only improves students' academic achievements but also shapes them into individuals who are tolerant and ready to contribute to a multicultural society. Thus, the multicultural-based Independent Learning Curriculum at SMPN 7 Mataram is expected to become an effective model in education that prioritizes diversity and inclusiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the integration of digital technology in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum and learning media, specifically in KMA No. 183 and 184 of 2019. The background of this research is based on the demands of digitalization in education, which require a balance between technology, pedagogy, and Islamic values. The method used was a qualitative approach with document analysis and observation of digital learning media such as LMS, e-modules, interactive videos, and podcasts. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that digital technology integration has been normatively accommodated in the curriculum and is beginning to be implemented in learning practices through various interactive digital media. However, its implementation is not optimal due to its implicit nature in basic competencies, limited teacher digital literacy, and a lack of strengthening of students' digital ethics. Conclusion: The success of digital technology integration in PAI depends heavily on the balance between Islamic content, pedagogy, and technology (TPACK), as well as the strengthening of spiritual values and digital ethics in the learning process.

In terms of Islamic Family Law, the age limit for children to work is not directly explained in Article 98 of the Compilation of Islamic Law paragraph (1) the age limit for children who are able to stand alone or as adults is 21 years, as long as the child is not physically disabled. or mentally or have never been married. Child labor should be avoided considering the harm is greater than the benefit. In Surah Al-Baqarah verse 233 it is explained because providing a living is obligatory for parents.
