Abstract

This study aims to describe the readiness of prospective mathematics teachers in implementing the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in mathematics learning. The method used is qualitative descriptive, involving 8 students from 4 universities—2 in Ponorogo and 2 in Yogyakarta—as research subjects. The data collection instruments consist of questionnaires and interviews designed based on four main aspects: conceptual knowledge of STEM, perceptions of STEM learning, self-efficacy in integrating STEM, and pedagogical knowledge of STEM. The questionnaire results indicated that the students' readiness was in the high category, with an overall average score of 84.23%. In-depth interviews revealed that the students had a good understanding of STEM concepts and demonstrated positive attitudes toward their application, but still required reinforcement in practice and assessment. These findings suggest the need for practice-based training and hands-on experience to enhance prospective teachers' readiness in effectively implementing STEM-based learning in mathematics classrooms.

Abstract

The background of this is due to the low understanding of mathematical concepts in the material of addition and subtraction operations of whole numbers in class VII MTs Hidayatul Islamiyah, this is due to the lack of student learning motivation. Therefore, this study aims to increase students' motivation and interest in learning through the application of MOBILBUT number line media in learning mathematics. This research was conducted offline in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year, involving 11 students of class VII MTs Hidayatul Islamiyah. The research method used in this article is to use a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and learning documentation. The results showed that MOBILBUT is effective and easy to use, encourages active student participation, and increases student motivation and interest in learning. This can be seen from the observation results which show an increase in students' active participation during learning. Students reported increased learning motivation in interviews, with some students stating that MOBILBUT made learning math more interesting and easy to understand.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a canva-assisted e-module teaching material as an effort to improve the mathematical reasoning skills of class V students of the Pringgodani Group on addition and subtraction of fractions as well as to analyze the effectiveness and feasibility of canva-assisted e-modules. This research is a development research with the Plomp development model. Data analysis was carried out by normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The results of the study showed that the feasibility assessment of e-modules by material experts was 84.6% on the very feasible criteria, 94.2% on the very feasible criteria, and practitioner experts at 92.5% with very feasible criteria. Based on the results of the t-test and the N-gain test on a limited scale and a wide scale, the e-module was declared effective in improving the mathematical reasoning skills of students in class V of the Pringgodani Group.

Abstract

This research aims for explore draft mathematics in Tombi-Tombi Mandar, accessories traditional from the Mandar Tribe, as source study in perspective ethnomathematics. This study uses approach qualitative with method ethnography for understand integration culture local in learning mathematics. Data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at the Mandar Museum, Majene, west Sulawesi. The results of the study show that various type Tombi-Tombi Mandar, such as Tombi A'di-A'di , Tombi Ana'i, Tombi Cucur, Tombi Bu'ang, and Tombi Jijir, contain draft geometry and patterns numbers. The concept of square, rectangle, semicircle, circle, triangle, and parallelogram, and repeating patterns. This finding confirms importance integration culture in learning mathematics for increase understanding student at a time to preserve cultural heritage. By utilizing Tombi-Tombi Mandar as source learning, expected learning mathematics become more contextual, interesting, and meaningful.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is a process of building mathematical knowledge by teachers to students. However, the learning outcomes obtained are still relatively lacking, especially in SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an influence of the Discovery Learning learning model on learning outcomes in the similarity material in class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The population of this study was all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda as many as 325 students divided into 11 classes. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was class F as an experimental class of 35 students who applied the Discovery Learning learning model and class E as a control class of 36 students who applied the Conventional learning model. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class were 55.886, while the control class was 41.056. The results of the inferential analysis using the Independent Sample t-Test with right-hand testing showed a statistical significance value <the test significance value, which was 0.001 <0.05 so that H_0 was rejected. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Discovery Learning learning model on learning outcomes in the similarity material in class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda.

Abstract

The lack of application of learning models and media makes students less active when participating in learning activities. The lack of student activity during learning activities makes students less able to understand the material, resulting in low students' mathematical concept understanding ability. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the average value of students' mathematical concept understanding ability before and after using the TGT model assisted by PADIDAS media. This study is a quantitative pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at SD 4 Troso with a sample of 30 fourth grade students. In this study, data collection techniques used tests, interviews, observations and documentation and data analysis techniques used normality tests and hypothesis tests with the Paired Sample T-Test test. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05 so that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. From these results it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average value of understanding mathematical concepts before and after using the TGT model assisted by PADIDAS media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Komet QR media on the problem-solving abilities in geometry of fourth-grade students at the Budi Utomo Cluster, Mijen, Semarang. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The subjects consisted of two classes: the experimental class, which used the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Komet QR media, and the control class, which used conventional learning methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure students' problem-solving abilities. The data were analyzed using t-tests and gain score analysis. The result of the n-gain test was 0.6512, which falls into the medium category, indicating a significant difference in problem-solving ability between students who learned using Problem-Based Learning assisted by Komet QR and those who did not. This is further supported by the average posttest scores, with the control class scoring 68 and the experimental class scoring 81.

Abstract

The level. of creative thinking ability among students in Indonesia is still relatively low. One solution to overcome this is to implement differentiated learning based on learning styles through the PjBL model. This study was conducted to analyze how students' creative thinking abilities vary according to their learning styles. This research employs a qualitative approach, with the research instruments including a questionnaire on learning styles, a creativity test, and an interview guide as supporting tools. This study identified that: (1) Visual learners met the fluency indicators and fell into the creative category; (2) Auditory learners met the fluency and detail indicators and fell into the creative category; (3) Kinesthetic learners met the fluency and flexibility indicators and had a high level of creativity.
