Abstract

The process of Islamization in Java is carried out in a peaceful and creative way so that it can touch all levels of society. The spread of Islam is done by inserting Islamic values into the traditions of society. People's habits seem to be a tradition that must be carried out in order to bring good things in the continuation of life. One of the traditions carried out by the Javanese people, contains Islamic values, namely the seven monthly ceremony or familiarly called tingkepan/tingkeban, in general, it means salvation which is held by a pregnant person to pray for the future child he is carrying so that the birth process is safe and becomes a pious child. and sholihah. In practice, pregnant women who hold tingkeban events have to perform several rituals and prepare many dishes in the form of food, all of which have symbolic meaning. The tingkeban ritual has educational values both from a historical and social point of view, one of which is character education. The values of character education in the Islamic-Javanese tingkeban tradition come from universal noble values, namely the character of love for God and all of His creation, independence and responsibility, mutual cooperation and generosity as well as the characters of tolerance, peace and unity.

Abstract

Islamic boarding school life, with its culture and learning system, is an educational institution that is unique and different from other institutions. In the context of character education, Islamic boarding schools have an essential role in shaping the attitudes and behaviour of students. The reality of the pluralistic Indonesian nation requires students who can behave multiculturally in society. Meanwhile, Islamic boarding schools, with their deep-rooted values and learning systems, can contribute to forming students' multicultural attitudes. In this study, we discuss Islamic boarding schools' values that play a role in developing the students' multicultural attitudes. These values are the values of honesty, democracy, tolerance, equality, love of the country and respect for cultural diversity. These values form the multicultural attitudes of students by integrating these values into the learning and life of Islamic boarding schools. In the end, values integrated into students' social and education spheres can form a multicultural attitude of students by being tolerant, open, and appreciative of differences and can become role models for students with a multicultural attitude

Abstract

The development of science in the digital era has had a significant impact on Islamic culture. In this era, the dissemination and access of information has become faster and wider, enabling Muslims throughout the world to interact and share knowledge. Digital technology has facilitated the spread of Islamic teachings through various platforms, such as social media, mobile applications and websites. However, this development also brings challenges. For example, false or misleading information about Islam can easily spread, and this can affect Muslims' religious understanding and practices. Apart from that, the digital era can also influence Islamic cultural values and traditions, because Muslims are increasingly exposed to various other cultures and lifestyles via the internet. However, the digital era also opens up new opportunities for the development of Islamic science and culture. For example, digital technology can be used to preserve and promote Islamic art and culture, such as calligraphy and music. Apart from that, digital platforms can also be used for Islamic education, such as online Al-Qur'an learning. Overall, the development of science in the digital era has a complex and diverse influence on Islamic culture. Therefore, it is important for Muslims to understand and navigate these changes wisely.
