Abstract

The preliminary study of this research has found that science learning in MTsN 2 Bondowoso, East Java had the following issues: the average student score for science subjects was still relatively low, student learning activity in the classroom still needed more improvement, and some students had a low environmental care attitude. This was observed from the amount of rubbish still found under the table and according to interviews the students did not yet know how to process the waste. The purpose of this study is to find out the differences of Science, Technology, and Society learning strategy on the conceptual understanding and environmental care attitude for students of grade VII MTsN 2 Bondowoso. This research belonged to a quasi-experimental type with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample involved consisted of 56 students whom were grouped into the experimental and the control class. The hypothesis test used was t test (independent sample t-test). The data collection techniques used were questionnaires for environmental care attitude, interviews, observations, and tests. From the results of hypothesis testing, it obtained t value for students' conceptual understanding of 8.30 and t table of 2.04, and t value for students' environmental care attitude of 4.62 and t table of 2.04 with a 5% significant level. This showed a significant difference in the average score of students' conceptual understanding and students' environmental care attitude before and after implementing the Science, Technology, and Society learning strategy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the habitat characteristics and the distribution of halubi (Eleiodoxa conferta) in Binanga village, Silangkitang subdistrict of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. In an effort to sampling, this study using explore descriptive method. Halubi (E. conferta) found to be analyzed morphological characteristics of stems, leaves, flowers, fruit, and seeds. Measurement of physical-chemical parameters performed in situ. The distribution of halubi (E. conferta) is found 2 point in this village, with the character environment such as temperature (31-32 °c), air humidity (68-72%), pH of the soil (5,5 – 6,9), as well as the type of soil in the form of peat young and clay.

Abstract

The type of research used is Classroom Action Research where the research is carried out by lecturers in their own class by implementing, implementing, and reflecting on collaborative and participatory actions with the aim of improving performance as a lecturer so that learning outcomes increase. The subjects of this research were students of the 6th semester of the Mathematics Education study program in the Elementary Linear Algebra course which consisted of 20 students. Meanwhile, the object of research is the improvement of students 'abilities in mathematical problems, increasing students' self-confidence and the ability of lecturers to learn through the Inquiry method. The conclusions that can be drawn from this study are 1) The ability of student learning outcomes in mathematics learning through the inquiry method in Elementary Linear Algebra is shown by the proportion of learning test results, namely 78.50% with the category "Enough" in the first cycle increased to 86.84% category "Good" in cycle II. 2) The ability of students' self-confidence using the observation method has increased when viewed from the student results in the first cycle with the proportion of 84.45% in the "Good" category, the proportion of observations of students in the second cycle becomes 94.57% in the "Very Good" category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students usingmedia Kahoot and classes that did not usemedia Kahoot for class X MIPA at SMA Negeri 1 Petanahan in the 2020/2021 academic year during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is included in the Quasi Experimental Research with Posttest Only Control Group Design. The sample amounted to 34, each in the experimental class and control class.media are used Whatsapp Group and Google Classroom to support distance learning (PJJ). This study used the experimental classmedia Kahoot in its evaluation, while the control class used conventional evaluation (Google Classroom). According to the results of the research, the data after treatment shows that the average value of the experimental class is 78.16176 and the control class has an average value of 59.11765. The data is calculated by means of hypothesis testing, namely the t-test with the results of tobs 7,286254 and DK of 1,669804. Calculations using SPSS at the stated significance value of 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

Science learning using conventional methods and the unavailability of learning media can make learning atmosphere less enjoyable. Therefore, we need learning media that can make learning more fun. In addition, we need media that can demonstrate the phenomenon of natural and environmental damage and can socialize the dangers of smoking to students. This is because the danger of smoking is relevant to one of the natural science materials in junior high school, namely the respiratory system. This research aimed to develop props about the dangers of smoking and the respiratory system in learning science in junior high school. This type of research is classified as Research and Development with the ADDIE model developed by Robert Maribe Branch. The data collection instruments used were questionnaires given to media experts to examine the validity of the props and questionnaires given to students to gain their responses about the props. The product developed has been tested by media experts and received a percentage score of 88.4% which belongs to the "very valid" category. This product has also received positive responses from students and obtained a percentage of student response scores of 81.81% in the "very interesting" category.

Abstract

his research aims to: (1) to find out whether there is an increase in students' interest in learning chemistry through the use of Schoology applications. (2) to find out how much increased interest in learning chemistry students through the use of Schoology applications. The type of research used is the quantitative description. Sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, the sample divided into two classes, namely the control class 38 students and the experimental class 38 students. The innovative course taught using a guided inquiry learning model utilizing application Schoology, while the control class uses a guided inquiry learning model without the application. The research instrument in the form of a questionnaire the scale of measurement using a Likert scale. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample t test with a significance of 0.05 obtained the results of  tcount (5.561) > ttable (2.377) and significant value of 0.00 < 0.05. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing assisted by SPSS for Windows Version 22.0, that there was an increase in students' interest in learning chemistry through the use of Schoology applications. To find out how much increased interest in students learning through the use of application Schoology by using the gain test results obtained at 35.5% in the medium category.

Abstract

The problem of oil pollution in the sea is starting to get serious attention from the public. This incident caused the mass death of various types of marine organisms. Many cases only become government records without any complete response. An example of a case is oil pollution in Seribu Island. It is known that pollution has occurred since 2003 and in the 2003-2004 period it was recorded that it had occurred 6 times. To prevent and control marine pollution due to oil spills, there are several prevention methods. We know that the case is difficult to do because the oil spill is very done, both in terms of time, continuous work, and in terms of the costs involved. In this study, the design and construction of oil extraction using absorbent media in the oil waste area in the water. The purpose of this research is to design and conduct a study of the efficiency of a belt type oil skimmer using durian skin waste which is moved using a solar panel. It absorbs oil from the air which can be retrieved and collected onto the vessel by providing a piping arrangement. The collected oil can be reused for various purposes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the algebraic thinking process of students in solving open-ended mathematical problems. The research method used was literature review through books, journals, and similar previous research. The results of the study of various literature are that there are three processes in thinking algebra when students are faced with open-ended based problems including understanding patterns, representing, and solving. In the first stage is,  understanding patterns students understand the patterns shown by writing important statements in the problem or stating the patterns in the form of images. At the stage of representing students doing symbolic manipulation of patterns in the form of equations containing coefficients, variables, and constants. At the stage of completing students use the right strategy so that a variety of alternative answers correct. Open-ended can be seen when students go through the stages of understanding patterns and completing.

Abstract

Feed protein sources for fish so far have fluctuated and still have to be imported from abroad, causing difficulties for farmers. Then you need to look for other sources of protein that are cheaper and easier to obtain. This study aims to determine the effect of increasing the value of protein content in artificial feed added to chicken feather flour hydrolyzate and to find out the best composition of chicken feather meal hydrolyzate added in the artificial feed that provides optimal protein levels for tilapia growth. This research method is an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. Control (-): 100% conventional artificial feed (PB). Control (+): 100% Chicken Feather Flour (TBA). Treatment A: 25% TBA and 75% PB. Treatment B: 50% TBA 50% PB. Treatment C: 75% TBA and 25% PB. Proximate tests performed on each sample. The parameters observed were crude protein levels and organoleptic tests. They are analyzed using ANAVA and DMRT tests with a confidence level of 95%, while for organoleptic yield data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that TBA fermentation with B. subtillis could improve the quality of raw materials for fish feed. The highest increase in crude protein in treatment C (10.40 ± 0.22) with a change in physical properties to brown, pungent odor, and blindness texture.

Abstract

The discharge of leachate increasingly exacerbates the condition of the batang ayumi increasingly polluted due to a large amount of garbage and the pollution from TPA Batu bola Padangsidimpuan City. This study aims to analyze the water quality of Batang Ayumi. This study uses a descriptive exploratory method by surveying in advance to observe the environmental conditions of Batu Bola landfill as a consideration for the impact of Batu Bola landfill on the surrounding environment. Water quality measurements carried out at four sampling stations. At each station, two repetitions carried out. Parameters measured and observed were parameters of temperature, pH, DO, COD, BOD, and Turbidity. The results showed that the turbidity value of the Batang Ayumi at station II had exceeded the standard threshold; the quality is 4,7 NTU. In contrast, results of the data analysis of the Batang Ayumi river, it was concluded that the BOD concentration along with the Batang Ayumi, The value of BOD Ayumi Batang river water concentration is between 3.6 mg / l -3.9 mg / l.
