Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the written mathematical communication skills possessed by junior high school students. The material used is a flat quadrilateral. The subjects in this study were students of class VII E at SMP Negeri 4 Purworejo. Data collection techniques used observation, mathematical communication skills test results, interview results, and documentation study. The analysis technique used is in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research and discussion, junior high school students' written mathematical communication skills on rectangular plane material are classified as high-level mathematical communication skills and have been able to achieve all indicators of mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

Reasoning is needed in everyday life. One of the subjects that uses reasoning is mathematics. Mathematics trains a person's reasoning abilities. Mathematical deductive reasoning ability is a characteristic of mathematics itself. However, today educators tend to teach mathematics in other ways that make it difficult for students to interpret real mathematics. It is as if mathematics stands alone. Meanwhile, mathematics is born from everyday human life. In the end, many people don't like math. Therefore, this study aims to describe the mathematical deductive reasoning abilities possessed by prospective mathematics teachers. The material used is geometry. The subjects in this study were students of mathematics education in the academic year 20117/2018. Data collection techniques used observation, mathematical deductive reasoning ability test results, interview results, and field notes. The analysis technique used is in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and documentation study. Based on the results of research and discussion, prospective teachers' mathematical deductive reasoning abilities on geometry material are classified as high-level mathematical thinking skills and have been able to achieve all indicators of mathematical deductive reasoning abilities. It was also found that students were able to visualize images according to the information obtained.

Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is an active learning approach to improve (mathematics) students'  creative thinking abilities in mathematics learning. In the learning process, STEM combines four main areas, namely knowledge, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning model that teaches concepts through a student-centered project so students can work creatively and collaboratively. The purpose of this article is to describe and provide many things related to STEM as an approach that can integrate knowledge, technology, techniques, and mathematics as well as design the implementation of STEM learning approaches with PjBL models to enhance students' creative thinking in mathematics learning. The method used is a literature review. The results of the study show that some essential competencies in mathematics learning can integrate with the STEM approach in the form of routine activity of the STEM approach in the classroom and the provision of projects to students. Thus, the implementation of the STEM approach to mathematics learning can be done in Indonesia to prepare quality human resources and be ready to face challenges and competitions in the industrial revolution era 4.0 in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of the national high school science exam questions for the 2018/2019 school year, which is defined based on the SOLO taxonomy and examines what operational verbs are in the subject. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. The source of this research is the text of the National High School science Mathematics national examination for 2018/2019 academic year. The data collection technique used is the data analysis technique, according to Milles and Huberman. The object retrieval technique used is using a comparative method. The question used in this study were 20 odd number questions on the text of the Mathematics science high school national exam. The results of this study are as follows. The level questions on the national mathematics high school mathematics national exam 2018/2019 includes four levels in the SOLO taxonomy with uni structural breakdown of 5%, multi structural 10%, relational by 75%, and extended abstracts by 10%.

Abstract

Dermatoglyphics is derived, and each individual has a different fingerprint pattern even if they are born twins. Fingerprint patterns generally divided into three models, namely Arch, Loop, and Whorl. Fingerprints can widely used as a means of identifying a person in terms of biological decline and differences between ethnic groups. The purpose of this study was to determine variations in dermatoglyphics in students at FKIP Labuhanbatu University from different ethnic marriages. The sampling technique in this study is Purposive Sampling. The method of taking fingerprints is done by sticking student fingerprints on a piece of paper using a blue stamp bearing. The type of fingerprint only observes the results of fingerprint collection. The results showed that variations in the types of fingerprint patterns were found in students with Malay-Javanese, Malay-Batak, Javanese-Batak parental by having Arch, Loop, and Whorl. The most commonly found fingerprint pattern is the Loop type, with a percentage of 71.7% (Javanese - Batak), 61.8% (Batak - Minang), and 60% (Aceh - Batak).

Abstract

SMA Negeri 4 Padang sidimpuan is a government agency engaged in education. At SMA N 4 Padangsidimpuan which already has a scholarship program for underprivileged students. Scholarships are gifts in the form of financial assistance given to individuals with the aim of being used for the continuity of the education being taken. Scholarship programs are held to ease the burden on students and especially for parents who do it selectively according to the type of scholarship being held. One of the methods used to search for prospective scholarship recipients is the application of Profile Matching because it is able to select the best alternative from a number of alternatives, in this case what is meant by alternatives, namely those who are entitled to receive scholarships based on specified criteria. The results of this study are the determination of underprivileged and high-achieving scholarship receipts into the ranking based on the calculation of the Profile Matching method that has been applied. From the existing ranking results will have the highest Profile Matching score who gets a scholarship and the application of the Profile Matching method into the application, ranking students according to predetermined criteria.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe students creative thinking in solving mathematical problems during the pandemic Covid 19. The type of this research is descriptive research with a phenomenological approach. A subject chosen by using purposive technique. The subject of research consisting from 2 students with high ability. Data collection techniques using test, interviews, and field notes. The research instrument was in the form of student’s creative thinking test on geometry material and interview guidelines. The validity of data with triangulation technique. The result of this research is student with high ability have creative thinking level 3 (creative). The student were able indicator fluency and flexibility. Indicator of fluency is characterized by ability of students to provide answers that are diverse and is true. While, the indicator of flexibility is characterized by ability of students to use different methods or approaches in solving mathematical problem and is true value.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of artificial feeding on the growth and reproduction rate of Monopterus Albus species. This research is meta-analysis research. The data source comes from a search of 18 national and international articles published in 2010-2020 related to feeding the Monopterus albus species. Data obtained from google scholar database, DOAJ, ScienceDirect, sagejournal, Springer, and IEEE. The data analysis technique is a qualitative descriptive analysis with JASP software. The results showed that 35% of artificial feeding affected the growth of Monopterus albus and 28.5% affected the reproductive rate with an effect size of 1.2. This shows that artificial feeding is effective in increasing the growth and reproductive quality of Monopterus albus.

Abstract

Minyak jelantah yang tidak terpakai dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sabun. Namun karena sifat minyak jelantah yang telah rusak, maka sabun dari minyak jelantah juga mudah dihinggapi jamur. Penambahan ekstrak daun Cengkodok (Melastoma Malabathricum L) sebagai anti jamur diharapkan dapat mengatasi permasalahan ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penambahan ekstrak penambahan daun Cengkodok (Melastoma Malabathricum L) dapat menghilangkan jamur pada sabun dari minyak jelantah  dan berapakah jumlah ekstrak daun Cengkodok (Melastoma Malabathricum L) yang dibutuhkan agar sabun dari minyak jelantah terbebas dari jamur. Metode pada penelitian pengaruh penambahan ektraks daun Cengkodok (Melastoma Malabathricum L) ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen. Tahapan yang dilakukan adalah persiapan alat dan bahan, penjernihan minyak jelantah, pembuatan ekstrak daun Cengkodok, pembuatan sabun dari minyak jelantah, uji organoleptik sabun dari minyak jelantah serta pengamatan variasi lama penyimpanan sabun dari minyak jelantah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun Cengkodok. Pada penelitian ini juga membuat sabun dari minyak goreng sebagai pembanding. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Terpadu Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ekstrak daun cengkodok berpengaruh terhadap pencegahan jamur pada sabun minyak jelantah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the planning, process and evaluation of learning using e-learning based learning media on the use of smartphones in mathematics at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with research subjects consisting of class VII mathematics teachers, amounting to 2 teachers and class VII students totaling 24 people with the researcher as the key instrument. The data collection procedures for this research are observation techniques, interviews, and documentation using smartphone media.The results show that, firstly in terms of planning, teachers have prepared themselves to face students properly using technology on smartphones. This can be seen from the readiness of planning archives and their compatibility with PermenDikbud No. 22 of 2019. Second, the teaching and learning process that is carried out encourages students think more critically, actively and independently in accepting the material presented. Third, the evaluation which is held every two to three times a week is going well.
