Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between reading interest and students' reading comprehension ability. Research approach using quantitative with correlational study method. The subjects of this study were students of class VA and VB at SD Negeri Karya Bhakti totaling 90 students. The sample was taken by 47 students, then this study was obtained using a five-scale questionnaire for the Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability variables using tests. Therefore, from the data obtained, it was found that a moderate relationship between reading interest and reading comprehension ability was seen from the accumulated calculation results, which was 30% such as using the time to read books in the library, while 70% is influenced by other factors such as students who are motivated by the teacher to increase reading interest so that students can to read a comprehension and other factors are also influenced from outside of students, namely when doing tasks, students are guided and assisted by parents. . Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability in class VA and VB students of SD Negeri Karya Bhakti Odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between supervision, integrity and performance of primary school teachers. The participantes of the study were 150 teachers of public elementary schools in Dumai Barat subdistrict, Dumai city, and the sample was determined using the proposite stratifield random sampling technique. The method of data collection was done by distributing questionnaires for the supervision and integrity variables, while for the teacher performance variable it was with documentation. The results of the study show that there is a positive correlation between supervision on teacher performance, a positive correlation between integrity and teacher performance, and a positive correlation between supervision, integrity and teacher performance.This study concludes that there is a positive and significant correlation among supervision, integrity, and performance of primary school teachers in Dumai Barat Subdistrict, Dumai City.

Abstract

Education in the age of the industrial revolution 4.0 requires teachers to become innovative; teachers need to be able to adapt science and technology innovations to learning trends in the classroom. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach is an alternative learning approach that allows students to have the complete skills desired by 21st century learning. Utilizing the STEM approach in a learning environment allows several topics to be effectively learned in a grade II elementary classroom. One STEM approach used ‘Potatoes in My Head’, has learners learn about food ingredients, using measuring instruments, as well as basic techniques of engineering. This paper is the result of best practices carried out by the teacher in the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year and involved 29 second grade students at a public elementary school in Bukittinggi, Indonesia. The aim is to see the improvement of students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. The knowledge was gathered through observation strategies and assessments of learning outcomes. The findings showed that the STEM approach in the Potatoes in My Head operation helped enhance learning outcomes and the students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Races, ethnic groups, nationalities, and religions are considered important for implementing multicultural education.  the implementation of multicultural cooperative learning in an Islamic public primary school becomes a concern for this study. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the implementation of multicultural education in an Islamic Public School in Grobogan, Central Java. This study used descriptive qualitative, literature review, and a case study in an Islamic Public School. The findings of the study show that 1) multicultural education is a form of policy attention from the government and teachers about a variety of ethnicities and culture. multicultural education can be used as a strategic instrument to develop diverse ethnic and national cultures that can be a personal pride for the ethnic group. 2) Multicultural education is very suitable for a plural society such as Indonesia, which pays attention to the understanding of ethnic, religious, linguistic and ethnic differences, which requires new innovation democratic society. 3) Application of multicultural education in an integrated curriculum or integrated with other subjects. 4) The application of integrated multicultural education can use cooperative learning models. 5) The basis for efficient group formation is the formation of non-permanent groups with session agreements or face-to-face meeting agreements, which allow students to interact in turns with classmates. 6) Familiarization with the basis of the formation of varied groups in the cooperative learning model will develop an awareness that life now and later for students is no problem in adjustment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an RME-based hypothetical learning trajectory of least common multiple for elementary school students. This study used research & development based on the Plomp development model. The subjects of this study were 9fourth grade elementary school students in Pekanbaru, Riau. The data of this study was collected by distributing questionaires and conducting interviews. The data collected was analysed by using descriptive and quantitative analysis. The results indicated that the hypothetical learning trajectory developed was very valid with an average score of 84.37% and was very practical with an average score of 89.38% from the students and 88.89% from the teachers. Therefore, the RME-based hypothetical learning trajectory of least common multiple can be further used by elementary school students and teachers.

Abstract

This research purpose determines the effect of learning facilities and family environment on motivation to learn of prospective elementary teacher education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau on online learning. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The data used are primary data obtained directly from filling out a questionnaire by prospective elementary teacher education Class 2018, 2019, and 2020 students totaling 180 students. The results showed that there was a positive and significant effect of learning facilities and family environment on motivation to learn of prospective elementary teacher education in learning during, with the results of testing with the F test that obtained an F value of 21.272 with a significance value of F of 0.000 or a sig F value of <0.05. The multiple regression test results show that the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.440 or 44%.

Abstract

It is very important to transform cultural values in society so that they are known, accepted and lived up to by the community. The philosophy of Parennialism views the past as a chain of human life that cannot be ignored. The past is an important part of human time travel and has a strong influence on present and future events, therefore the values of the past are valuable must be passed on to today's young generation. Based on the explanation above shows the importance of value education in society. The potential that must be developed in this educational process is the values in local wisdom, especially in the formation of social integration in a society. Character education in primary education with an ethnopedagogical approach through a culture of education based on local wisdom of the Madurese ethnic can function as development: developing the potential of students to become good behavior for students who have attitudes and behaviors that reflect the culture and character of the nation. Improvement: strengthening the work of national education to be responsible for developing the potential of students who are more dignified. Filter: to filter the cultures of one's own nation and the cultures of other nations that are not in accordance with cultural values and national character.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the mathematical literacy skills of fifth grade elementary school students. This study was conducted in one of the primary school in Pekanbaru from January to March 2020. The type of research used was a case study. The subject of this research was 37 fifth grade elementary school students. The instrument was arranged referring to the questions issued by PISA. After the instrument were validated by two experts and tested on students, the next step was used to retrieve data. The data collected is then grouped and categorized according to the device that has been created. The results of the data processing showed that most of the subjects had not been able to answer the questions at level 4 or above, while for the answered level it was broken down as follows; the mathematical literacy achievement of fifth grade elementary school students that reached level 1 were 38%, in level 2 there were 54%, and in level 3 there were 8%. From these data results, it appears that in general the fifth-grade elementary school students have a very low level in mathematical literacy skills, meaning that the learning technique they have gained so far has not been able to build mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Character education is an effort to create a generation that is intelligent and has noble character and has an Indonesian personality. The success of character education in learning does not necessarily come from the perspective of the cognitive domain, but rather how to balance cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains whose estuary is to create a complete human being, likewise with cultural values. Foreign cultural values are growing rapidly along with technological advances, which have significantly shifted local cultural values in Indonesia, one of which is batik, most people, including university students, do not know the uniqueness of local wisdom in their respective regions; this Soendari Gallery has a batik based on strengthening character education. The purpose of this study is how to analyze the content of character education contained in Grombol Batik at the Soendari Gallery. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The subject of this research is Grompol Batik from Soendari Gallery. In Grompol batik, there is a circle or oval shape, which is one of the five characters, namely mutual cooperation. Besides that kawung is also known as a symbol of strength and justice which is also one of the dai character education. It can be concluded that the Grompol batik contains character education in it. This research is expected to provide many benefits for the community and the artists.

Abstract

Prospective teachers who get the 7th semester of Drama and Dance Education courses must have competence, one of which is that the teacher can present interesting learning for children with a drama approach, as a multidisciplinary knowledge that can be taught using role playing methods that are taught more interesting, fun, meaningful, interactive and rich experience. As a student, you can develop multiple intelligence in this subject. Programmed and scheduled musical drama training systems are indeed interesting, because each student is given the freedom to give assessments, provide reinforcement, support, correct weaknesses, mistakes and even object to the work of other groups with the strengths and points of view of the subjectivity expressed by each. students. As a result, sportsmanship is needed in this regard. Through an empirical qualitative approach, with lesson study-based inductive thinking logic. This study aims to describe the various intelligences that appear in learning dance drama, especially the work practice of dance drama projects (musical dramas), both individually and in groups obtained from the performance appraisal contained in the instrument. Important notes in the discussion found several findings about the application of Multiple Intelligences in learning dance and drama, namely: 1) Tools to achieve success that are more concerned with the process of achieving results, 2) Integrative Learning dance drama combines various intelligences, 3) Learning dance and dance drama becomes full of challenges, and more fun, 4) Care for the individual differences of students so that emotional management is needed, 5) Instructional based learning is firm and clearly measurable, 6) The importance of reflection for further improvement, 7) Clarity of goals, achievement of competence and each student's feedback needs to be done.
