Abstract

Character education for early childhood is intended to instil good values as the basis for further personal development. Character education for early childhood is to build the nation’s mental and character for the future. Bullying is one of the negative behaviours that children could do as the impact of moral deterioration. Hence, it is necessary to instil character education in early childhood to reduce the number of bullying. This article reports a study about the strategy of building disciplined character for children in early childhood through programmed activities and exemplary in order to reduce bullying for children. The implementation of disciplined character with school programmed activities included in daily learning activities, for example, teachers implementing values like justice, respect, and honesty as part of daily learning either in or out of the classroom. In the implementation of disciplined character by exemplary, teachers and parents become role models in disciplined character habits for the children. The pattern of parents’ parenting style for children influenced the cultural relationship of parental discipline style. The parents' attitudes and behaviours toward children and the environment the students grew up are important for personality development.

Abstract

This article discusses a study about the effect of entrepreneurship on entrepreneurial readiness, family environment on entrepreneurial readiness,self-efficacy on entrepreneurial readiness, entrepreneurial knowledge on entrepreneurial readiness mediated by self-efficacy, and family environment on entrepreneurial readiness mediated by self-efficacy. The population of the study involved 141 students in class XII of the Office Administration Automation skill program at SMK Negeri Mojoagung who had taken the Creative Products and Entrepreneurship learning subject. A simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample and 104 respondents. The technique of the study used quantitative research with the type of a causal associative, and the data collection method used a questionnaire. The technique of data analysis used path analysis. The conclusion indicated that entrepreneurial knowledge has a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial readiness (P Value = 0.008), the family environments did not have a positive effect on entrepreneurial readiness (P Value = 0.182), self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial readiness (P Value = 0.019), there is no significant effect on entrepreneurial readiness mediated by self-efficacy (P Value = 0.068), and family environment on entrepreneurial readiness mediated by self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect with the significant impact (P Value = 0.049).

Abstract

This article reports the effect of the STAD-typed cooperative learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes in class V of SDN 040529 Ajibuhara Tiga Panah Karo in the academic year of 2020/2021. The research approach used in this article was quantitative. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling and involved a number of 31 students. The results indicated that students’ learning outcomes using the STAD model were categorized as very good with an average score of 80.64. It was achieved the normality testing with a significance value of 0.20, thus, 0.20 > 0.05 from the data of class V was normally distributed. In the correlation testing, the correlation coefficient was 0.371 with a significance of 0.040, which means rcount (0.371) > rtable (0.355). Hence, there was a positive correlation between the STAD model and students' mathematics learning outcomes, which was 2.150 > 1.826. Thus, Ha is accepted. It shows that there was a positive and significant effect of the STAD learning model on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article focuses on the study of the relationship between verbal violence and self-esteem for children aged 5-6 years at Lundar Panti in West Sumatra Province. The study was a quantitative research with the type of correlation research. The sample in the study involved 52 parents who have children aged 5-6 years at Lundar Panti in Pasaman of West Sumatra Province. The data collection technique was used through a questionnaire for the parents. Research analysis used the correlation test of Pearson product-moment assisted by IMB SPSS version 23. In conducting the study, the variable of verbal violence was categorized as high with the range of 66%-79%. Whilst the variable of self-esteem for children aged 5-6 years at Lundar Panti in West Sumatra Province was categorized as low with the range of 40%-55%. Based on the results, the Pearson product-moment value was 0.405 with a probability of 0.003. The correlation coefficient value was 0.405 in the range of 0.40-0.599, which meant that there was a relationship that was categorized as moderate between verbal violence and self-esteem directed to negative because the r-value was negative, which meant that the higher verbal violence was, the higher rvalue was, the lower children’s self-esteem was.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of the Adiwiyata program to develop students’ environmental care character at SDN Cibeureum, Tasikmalaya. The study used a qualitative case study with descriptive analysis. The subjects involved the principal, Adiwiyata program coordinator, teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results indicated that the Adiwiyata program effectively developed students’ environmental care character through organized activities, such as establishing a picket schedule, plant care activities including planting, fertilizing, and watering, and proper waste management by distinguishing organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste. This study provides insights into character development through environmental programs and can motivate other schools to implement the Adiwiyata program.

Abstract

This article analyzes teachers’ perceptions of the principal’s leadership style at Public Elementary School 28 in Sungai Lansak, Sijunjung. The study was conducted in 2021 using a quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results indicated that the principal’s leadership was reflected through four dimensions of Transformational Leadership Theory: idealized influence, intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, and individualized consideration. Data analysis showed that teachers perceived the principal’s leadership style as very good across all four dimensions. The findings suggest that effective transformational leadership positively shapes teachers’ perceptions and supports school management.

Abstract

The influence of online learning on students' motivation and learning outcomes in social science learning subjects was conducted by Muslimin and Idawati. The study in this article is designed to 1) determine students’ learning motivation by online learning in social science learning subjects, 2) to find out students’ learning outcomes by online learning in social science learning subjects, and 3) to determine the effect of online learning on students’ motivation and learning outcomes in social science learning subjects. The type of study was descriptive quantitative design. The population involved 110 students at SDN 227 Inpres Takalar II, while the sample involved 51 students at a high-class level. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the path regression analysis technique assisted by SPSS Version 24 for windows. The results of the study indicated that 1) students’ learning motivation by online learning in social science learning subjects was categorized as very good, 2) students’ learning outcomes by online learning in social science learning subjects were still classified as quite good, 3)based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was obtained an R value of the learning motivation variable that indicated a value of 0.079 or 7.9%, which meant that learning motivation was influenced by online learning with a percentage of 7.9%. And the R Square value of the learning outcomes variable indicated a value of 0.001 or 0.1%, which meant that learning outcomes were influenced by online learning.

Abstract

Differences in learning outcomes in the use of online learning media in social science learning subjects lessons were conducted by Idawati and Sulfasyah. The study described in this article is designed to find out the differences between interests and learning outcomes through online learning media in social science learning subjects for students at the fourth-grade level of SD Islam Khairu Ummah, Manggala in Makassar. The study was aquantitative research with a quasi-experimental study and the design used a quasi-experimental design in which experimental class A was treated by using WhatsApp and experimental class B was treated by using Google Classroom. The samples used in the study were 52 fourth-grade students ofKhairu Ummah Islamic Elementary School Manggala in Makassar. The results indicated that (1) there were differences in students’ learningoutcomes through online learning media by using google classroom and WhatsApp in which the learning outcomes that came from the experimentalclass A average value was 69.6 and the experimental class B was 75.38. (2) During conducting students’ learning activities, the students have a good involvement. Students’ involvement could be seen when students paid attention, dared to express opinions and asked questions, did assignments, and were enthusiastic while learning ran down.

Abstract

This article discusses the effect of parents’ parenting style on the students’ learning motivation at the fifth-grade level of SD Negeri 040536 Partibi Lama. The method used in the study was a survey with a quantitative research method. The sample in the study involved 22 students from class VA and 21 students from class VB. The data collection tool used to see the students' learning motivation was a questionnaire that has been tested for validation and reliability. Both classes were normally distributed because those showed 0.200 ≥ 0.05. Based on the correlation test, the calculation result was 0.667, which meant that the correlation value was strong. The significant test was carried out to test the hypothesis by comparing the value of tcount with ttable. The value of tcount was 5,726 while ttable was 2,020. Because tcount 5,726 ≥ ttable 2,020, thus Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Through the t-test, it could be concluded that there was a significant relationship between parents’ parenting style and students’ learning motivation at the fifth-grade level of SDN 040536 Partibi Lama Merek in Karo.

Abstract

The fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Puding Besar have difficulty in understanding the material and heat because the presented material is not appropriated to the students’ character. It makes their learning outcomes to be unfinished. In addition, the students are not aware of the various local wisdom around them. The purpose of the study in this article was designed to develop local wisdom-based students worksheets on the valid, practical, and effective temperature and heat materials for class V. The method used was a Research and Development (R&D) research by using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the study were a score for an average material expert of 96,65% with the criteria of very valid. The average score for media experts was 91,3% with the very valid criteria. The results of practicality by the classroom teacher were a score of 80% with the practical criteria. Whilst the product of practicality based on three students, small group, and large group was an average score of 92,84% with the criteria of very practical. The results of the effectiveness test product for class V was a score of 70,27% with the criteria of good. Thus, the local wisdom-based student worksheets on temperature and heat material for class V were valid, practical, and effective to use in the students’ learning process of class V at SDN 1 Puding Besar.
