Abstract

Penelitian ini memetakan identitas kesundaan dalam dua periode perkembangan sastra Indone- sia. Pemetaan ini dilakukan pada karya sastra yang ditulis pada zaman kolonial  dan zaman kontemporer untuk memperoleh gambaran yang menyeluruh tentang cara-cara identitas kesundaan ditampilkan dalam sastra Indonesia dari masa ke masa. Objek penelitian zaman kolonial, yaitu dua cerita karya Tirto Adhi Soerjo (TAS) dan zaman kontemporer diwakili oleh karya Remy Sylado dan Beni Setia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, keempat teks menghadirkan perubahan wacana identitas manusia yang signifikan. Pada era kolonial identitas manusia Sunda hadir sebagai bentuk perlawanan terhadap stereotip yang telah berkembang sebelumnya. Pada era kontemporer terlihat upaya manusia Sunda untuk keluar dari wacana-wacana besar yang sedang berkembang. Meskipun demikian, hal tersebut seringkali tidak bisa dilawan dan menimbulkan sikap ambivalen pada diri manusia Sunda itu sendiri.Abstract:This research divides Sundanese identity into two mapping periods of Indonesian liter- ary development. The mapping is conducted on literary works written during the two periods: colonial and contemporary. It is intended to obtain a comprehensive picture on the ways of Sundanese identity  described in Indonesian literature from time to time. The research centers on colonial period represented by Tirto Adhi Soerjo’s two short stories (TAS) and contemporary pe- riod represented by Remy Sylado’s and Beni Setia’s. The results show that the four texts present changes of situation in significant human identities. In the colonial period, the Sundanese identity was  as a form of resistance to the previously developed stereotypes. While in the contemporary period, there was Sundanese  effort to get out from  big developing situations.  The matter, how- ever,  could not be resisted. Indeed, it  created an ambivalent attitude within the Sundanese them- selves.

Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul “Reinterpretasi dan Rekonstruksi Cerita Si Kabayan dan Sangkuriang dalam Kesusastraan Indonesia Modern” dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji transformasi kisah Sangkuriang dan Si Kabayan dengan tujuan  mengetahui perubahan interpretasi dan rekonstruksi kedua cerita lisan tersebut ke dalam sastra Indonesia kontemporer. Cerita Sangkuriang dan Si Kabayan yang pada mulanya merupakan cerita lisan, tidak hanya ditransformasikan ke dalam bentuk tulis oleh banyak sastrawan, tetapi juga bertransformasi ke dalam bentuk drama hingga film. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan enam teks transformasi, yaitu: (1) Sang Kuriang karya Utuy Tatang Sontani,(2) Lelaki yang Terus mencintai Sumbi karya Hermawan Aksan, (3) Kesadaran Sangkuriang karya Dian Hartati, (4) Si Kabayan karya Utuy T. Sontani,(5) Si Kabayan Nongol di Zaman Jepang karya Achdiat K. Mihadrja, (6)  Si Kabayan Jadi Wartawan karya Muchtar ibn Thalab. Dengan menggunakan prinsip sastra bandingan dan teori transformasi ditemukan bahwa Sangkuriang dalam ketiga teks transformasinya digunakan untuk penyampaian ideologi. Sementara itu, Si Kabayan dalam ketiga teks transformasinya digunakan sebagai alat penyampai kritik terhadap berbagai ketimpangan yang terjadi di masyarakat.Abstract: The research aims to study “The transformation of Si Kabayan and Sangkuriang stories and how they are reinterpreted and reconstructed in contemporary Indonesian literature”. These originally oral stories have been transformed not only into written texts, but also into drama and film by different authors. The research focuses on six texts, namely  (1) Sang Kuriang by Utuy Tatang Sontani,(2) Lelaki yang Terus mencintai Sumbi by Hermawan Aksan, (3) Kesadaran Sangkuriangby Dian Hartati, (4) Si Kabayanby Utuy T. Sontani,(5) Si Kabayan Nongol di Zaman Jepangby Achdiat K. Mihadrja and (6)Si Kabayan Jadi Wartawanby Muchtar ibn Thalab, all of which are written transformations of the stories. Using principles of comparative literature and transformation theory to approach the texts, the study finds that in the first three texts, the transformation of Sangkuriang story is intended to convey an ideology, whereas in the latter, the transformation of Kabayan story is intended as a means to critize injustice and inequality that occurs in the society.

Abstract

Untuk sekian lama penulis perempuan pada umumnya mempresentasikan ideologi gender dalam karya mereka. Namun akhir-akhir ini beberapa penulis muda perempuan, seperti Dorothea Rosa Herliany, membuyarkan ideologi gender. Dalam puisinya  Dorothea Rosa Herliany mendekonstruksi dan memparodikan simbol-simbol dominasi dan supremasi kaum laki-laki terhadap kaum perempuan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan karakter tokoh perempuan Jawa dalam novel Indone- sia berwarna lokal Jawa: kajian perspektif gender dan transformasi budaya. Dua belas novel yang diteliti, yakni Burung-Burung Manyar (BBM) dan Romo Rahadi (RR) karya YB Mangunwijaya, Canting karya Arswendo Atmowiloto, Para Priyayi (PP), Sri Sumarah (SS) dan Bawuk (B) karya Umar Kayam. Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk (RDK), Lintang Kemukus Dini Hari (LKDH), dan Jentera Bianglala (JB) karya Ahmad Tohari, Pada Sebuah Kapal (PSK), Tirai Menurun (TM) karya Nh. Dini, dan Pariyem (P) karya Linus Suryadi AG. Hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa karakter perempuan Jawa dalam novel yang diteliti mengalami perubahan yang berkaitan dengan transformasi budaya. Mereka bukan konco wingking, melainkan aktif berperan di sektor publik sebagai pencari nafkah keluarga. Mereka juga bukan perempuan biasa yang pasif, melainkan aktif memecahkan masalah kehidupan. Kesetaraan gender dan transformasi budaya terdapat dalam karakter tokoh perempuan Jawa dalam novel Indonesia berwarna lokal Jawa yang diteliti.Abstract:This research is aimed at describing the characters of Javanese women in Indonesian fictions with Javanese local colour related to gender perspective and cultural transformation study. There are twelve novels observed in the research, namely, Burung-Burung Manyar (BBM) and Romo Rahadi (RR) written by YB Mangunwijaya; Canting (C) written by Arswendo Atmowiloto; Priyayi (P), Sri Sumarah (SS), and Bawuk (B) written by  Umar Khayam; Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk (RDP), Lintang Kemukus Dini Hari (LKDH); and Jentera Bianglala (JB) written by Ahmad Tohari, Pada Sebuah Kapal (PSK) and Tirai Menurun ( TM ) written by Nh. Dini, and AG Pariyem (P) written by Linus Suryadi. From the analysis, it can be concluded that cultural transformation has occurred in characters of the Javanese women in Indonesian fiction. Female characters in the fiction, which are analyzed above, have played an important role in various aspects of  life. They are not only Konco Wingking, but they also take an active role in the public sector as economic actors in a family. They are not the passive women, but women who are creative in solving the problems of life. Gender equality has been obtained by the Javanese female characters in fictions which are analyzed.

Abstract

Tulisan ini ditujukan untuk mengungkapkan identitas budaya hibrid yang ditampilkan dalam tiga cerpen yang ditulis oleh pengarang Afrikadalam buku kumpulan cerpen L’Europe Vue D’Afrique (Eropa dilihat  Afrika). Tiga cerpen itu berjudul ”Femme de Gouverneur” (LFG) karya Ken Bugul, “La Bibliothèque d’Ernst” (LBE) karya Patrice Nganang, dan “Âllo” karya Aziz Chouaki. Identitas budaya hibrid itu tercermin melalui pandangan Eropasentris para tokoh utama dan mimikriyang mereka lakukan sebagai individu hibrid (Afrika-Eropa). Homi Bhabha (1994) dalam The Location of Culture, mengungkapkan bahwa konsep mimikri tidak berarti sepenuhnya meniru karena terkandung juga unsur mengejek (mockery). Oleh karena itu, budaya hibrid yang muncul itu dapatdianggap sebagai senjata untuk meresistensi pengaruh budaya Eropa pada diri mereka, juga untuk mengkritik pengaruh budaya Eropa yang selama ini telah dianggap baik oleh masyarakat Afrika.Abstract: This paper  aims  to describe the hybrid cultural identity shown in three short stories, which were written by African authors in the book of the short story collection “L’Europe Vue D’Afrique”. The three short stories are Ken Bugul’s La Femme de Gouverneur (LFG), Patrice Nganang’s La Bibliothèque d’Ernst (LBE) , and Aziz Chouaki’s Allo. The hybrid cultural identity is reflected through the Eurocentric perspective and mimicry of the main character as individual hybrid (African-European). Homi Bhabha (1994) in “The Location of Culture” describes that the concept of mimicry not only   mimics something but also contains mockery. Therefore, the hybrid culture represented in the short stories can be considered  a weapon to resist the influence of European culture on them and to criticize the influence of European culture, which has been considered superior by the African society.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh Laskar Pelangi terhadap Negeri 5 Menara. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan memanfaatkan teori intertekstual. Data yang digunakan adalah teks yang terdapat pada dua novel yang dijadikan sumber, yaitu Laskar Pelangi karya Andrea Hirata dan Negeri 5 Menara karya Ahmad Fuadi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pembacaan secara cermat kedua novel lalu mencatat peristiwa-peristiwa yang menunjukkan suatu fakta keterpengaruhan cerita yang mendukung proses analisis. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara menemukan hubungan unsur-unsur intrinsik dan ekstrinsik kedua cerita untuk melihat dan menjelaskan pengaruh Laskar Pelangi terhadap Negeri 5 Menara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hubungan interteks kedua novel terjadi secara dekat. Hubungan itu diperkuat melalui penggunaan beberapa simbol, seperti pohon filicium, pelangi, menara, dan awan yang merefresentasikan sebuah mimpi dan cita- cita. Hubungan tersebut sekaligus menjadi penguat keterpengaruhan Negeri 5 Menara oleh Laskar Pelangi.Abstract:This study attempts to study  the effect of “Laskar Pelangi” on “Negeri 5 Menara”. The method used is descriptive qualitative by applying  intertextual theory. The data applied in this study are the  text on two novels, namely: Andrea Hirata’s Laskar Pelangi and Ahmad Fuandi’s Negeri 5 Menara. Technique of data collection is by reading those two novels and making notes for events that show the effect of “LaskarPelangi” on “Negera 5 Menara”. Data analysis is  con- ducted by examining the correlation between intrinsic and extrinsic elements of both stories in order to find the effect of “Laskar Pelangi” on “Negeri 5 Menara”. The result of the research  indi- cates that  intertextual correlations on those two novels had a common thread. Its correlation was strengthened by the use of symbols, such as filicium tree, rainbow, tower, and cloud that repre- sented a dream and a goal. The correlation strongly proves that “Laskar Pelangi” has a great effect on “Negeri 5 Menara”.

Abstract

This research examines how the representation of choragraphy of Nyai’s body in Hanna Rambe’s “Mirah dari Banda”. The theory used is the politics of Sara Upstone's postcolonial space that states that bodies and places are politically related to each other. The research uses a qualitative research method. The result of research reveals two findings. Firstly,   there are choragraphy and ambiguity of self-meaning. There is no meaning or ideas on Nyai’s space and body. Secondly, there are choragraphy in space and body in between. The result of a cross between Nyai and his master is Indo-European children. Both conditions occur due to  her Indo’s child  in European-Dutch power.

Abstract

Makalah ini mengkaji representasi kisah Nabi Ibrahim dalam delapan sajak Indonesia modern, yaitu “Hanya Satu” (Amir Hamzah), “Ibrahim! Ibrahim!” (Remy Sylado), “Bapak Semua Bangsa” (Remy Sylado), “Sajak 10 Zulhijah” (Remy Sylado), “Balada Nabi Ibrahim a.s. dan Nabi Ismail a.s.” (Taufiq Ismail), “Sajak-Sajak Kelahiran” (Abdul Hadi W.M.), “Ibrahim Alaihisalam I” (Ahmadun Yosi Herfanda), dan “Ibrahim Alaihisalam II” (Ahmadun Yosi Herfanda). Kajian terhadap kedelapan sajak Indonesia modern yang ditulis oleh lima penyair tersebut dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan kisah Nabi Ibrahim yang terdapat dalam Alkitab dan Alquran dengan puisi hasil kreasi lima penyair tersebut. Hasil kajian dari delapan puisi tersebut merepresentasikan pewartaan keimanan Nabi Ibrahim dalam menyebarluaskan ajaran ketuhanan. Nabi Ibrahim dipandang sebagai insan yang paling luhur dan mulia karena Nabi Ibrahim disebut sebagai “abu al-anbiya”, yakni bapak segala nabi-nabi atau para rasul Tuhan, sekaligus juga kekasih Allah yang Mahapenyayang. Nabi Ibrahim menegakkan keesaan Tuhan dengan memberangus semua berhala dan mendirikan Kakbah. Hasil kajian ini merekomendasikan agar setiap insan dapat meneladani keluhuran dan kemuliaan budi pekerti Nabi Ibrahim yang senantiasa beriman kepada Tuhan.Abstract:This paper examines the story representation of Prophet Ibrahim in the eight modern Indonesian poems, namely, “ Hanya Satu (The Only One) “ (Amir Hamza), “Abraham! The study of eight modern Indonesian poems written by five poets was done by comparing the story of Prophet Ibrahim contained in the Bible and the Qur’an to the poetry created by the five poets. The study finds that the eight poems represents preaching the faith of Prophet Ibrahim in disseminating the teachings of the divine. Prophet Ibrahim was seen as the most sublime and the most glorious man, hence; the Prophet Ibrahim was so called ‘’abu al- anbiya’, namely, the father of all prophets,  as well as The Lover of God, Most Merciful. Prophet Ibrahim upheld the unity of God by destroying all the idols and set up the Ka’ba. The results of this study recommends that every man can imitate the grandeur and glory of the Prophet Ibrahim who always believed in God.

Abstract

Jayapura has many variaties of folklore. Unfortunately, this potential has not been used optimally as a reference of children reading for basic school.   This paper aims to know the chance of the ‘Ebhi dan Khandei’ story to be a source of children reading reference based on three criteria, namely the simplicity of structure; the character value; and the correlation between the structure of story and the developmental of child intelligence. Data analysis uses theory of structural; theory of developmental intelligence; and character value. It is concluded that ‘Ebhi and Khandei is recommended to be a source of reading for the children under the age of 7-11 years old because the story has a simple structure. The simplicity of structure reflected on the linear plot, the flat character, the concrete setting, the limited conflict, the stile on lexical element uses base world, and element of grammatical uses declarative sentence. Besides those components, this story also contains of good character value. Those characters are honesty and obey to the social rules.
