Management and Economics Journal (MEC-J) is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that focuses on management and economics fields. This journal publishes original articles, reviews, and also interesting case reports. Letters and commentaries of our published articles are welcome. Subjects suitable for publication include but are not limited to the fields of Marketing Management, Finance Management, Strategic Management, Operation Management, Human Resource Management, E-business, Knowledge Management, Management Accounting, Management Control System, Management Information System, International Business, Economics, Business Economics, Business Ethics and Sustainable, and Entrepreneurship, etc. The papers received by this journal will be reviewed by some experts from several universities in different countries. MEC-J is published three times a year in April, August, and December by Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between determinant variables affecting SME funding decision in Batu City. The approach used is survey research on perpetrators of SMEs excellent products as respondents to test the causality of variables affecting the funding decision. The analysis technique used is multiple regressions. The research found that: (1) although SMEs can achieve profit and increase assets, SMEs in Batu City prioritize internal funding sources. (2) Higher business risk due to increased company size and leverage operations. The SMEs tend to use internal funding rather than debt. SMEs growth does not necessarily use debt. Most the production activities of SMEs in Batu City have reached full capacity.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of job satisfaction in compensation, environment, discipline, and performance in Indonesia Higher Education, exactly in State Polytechnic of Banjarmasin (POLIBAN). To examine the hypotheses and mediator variabel, this research used Partial Least Square (PLS). It found that of ten hypotheses tested, four hypeteses were negative and insignificant. In addition, the test of mediation, by PLS, also showed that Job satisfaction cannot mediate the relationship between compensation and performance. However, it can be a mediator for the relationship between environment or discipline and performance. These results confirmed and contradict to the previous studies conducted.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of talent management and knowledge management on employee performance and the impact on performance of Private Colleges Employees in Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta, either partially or simultaneously. The research method used a survey with a questionnaire measured by a Likert Scale. The population is 104 Lecturers and Education Personnel at three active Private Colleges in Kulonprogo District. The data were analyzed by Lisrel 8.80 software. This study produced seven findings. First, Knowledge Management (X1) significantly affects on Employee Performance. Second, Talent Management (X2) significantly affects on Employee Performance (Y). Third, Knowledge Management (X1) and Talent Management (X2) simultaneously have a significant effect on Employee Performance (Y1). Fourth, Knowledge Management (X1) insignificantly affects on Competitive Advantage (Y2). Fifth, Talent Management (X2) insignificantly affects on Competitive Advantage (Y2). Sixth, Knowledge Management (X1) and Talent Management (X2) simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Competitive Advantage (Y2). Seventh, Employee Performance (Y1) significantly affects on Competitive Advantage (Y2);

Abstract

This research aims to examine and analyze the effect of the work environment and organizational culture on the operational field employee performance of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Provinsi Jawa Timur Tbk Cabang Sidoarjo with mediated work motivation. The population in this research was 134 employees. Data analysis in this research is the SEM using sofware PLS. The results of this research show that influential work environment significantly on the employee performance, organizational culture affect significantly on the employee performance, work environment affect significantly on the work motivation, organizational culture affect significantly on the work motivation, work motivation affect significantly on the employee performance. Motivation work also roles as a partial mediation from the effect of work environment on performance of employees and the effect of organizational culture on performance of employees.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between organizational culture, spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence and employee performance at the PT. PLN (Persero) Distribsui Bali. The research population is employees who are permanent employees with a minimum work period of 1 year totaling 189 people. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with the number of respondents 128 people and using SPSS 2.1 as an analytical tool. Research findings indicate that organizational culture and spiritual intelligence have a significant effect on emotional intelligence. In addition, organizational culture and spiritual intelligence have a significant effect on employee performance. And emotional intelligence has a significant influence on employee performance. This study also emphasizes that emotional intelligence mediates some of the influence of organizational culture on employee performance. And emotional intelligence mediates some of the influence of spiritual intelligence on employee performance. Finally, this study verifies that organizational culture and spiritual intelligence in private organizations are able to provide useful finding such as those found in public organizations (BUMN). This research only focuses on spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence. Subsequent research can investigate other intelligence possessed by humans such as intelligence quotient and physical intelligence. In terms of comparing the two human intelligences with spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence in the hope of verifying whether employees who are intellectually intelligent, physical, spiritual and emotional can greatly help the organization to improve employee performance.

Abstract

The research objectives are follows: (1) to test and prove empirically the effect of human resources on village Financial Reports Quality; (2) to test and prove empirically the effect of internal controls on village Financial Reports Quality. (3) to test and prove empirically the effectiveness of Village Financial System (SISKEUDES) on the village Financial Reports Quality. The research object were villages in Bantul Regency. The samples were 43 villages selected by purposive sampling method. The respondent targets were village heads, village secretaries, or financial staff. This study uses a quantitative method with primary data collection by questionnaires. The study results show that human resources in villages of Bantul Regency are still low due to lack of training and experience to make financial reports. The internal control system of villages in Bantul Regency is quite satisfactory. They have understood the procedures of their respective main tasks and functions, the risks faced of their mistakes and frauds. The Village Financial System in villages of Bantul Regency has been effectively implemented because all villages have used the Village Financial System application in order all the financial reports can be directly accounted for by central government.

Abstract

The apparatus performance is a fundamental problem affecting the organizational performance of West Sulawesi Province Government. Many factors affect it, both individual characteristics and organizational, especially commitment, leadership, compensation and job satisfaction. This study analyzes the effect of organizational commitment, leadership and compensation on job satisfaction and the impact on apparatus performance. The study was conducted on 358 respondents of Government apparatus in West Sulawesi Province. The data was collected by five point Likert scale and analyzed by Structural Equation Model (SEM). The study results found that commitment and leadership affect on job satisfaction and apparatus performance. While compensation only affects job satisfaction and does not affect on performance apparatus.

Abstract

Banking has a high potential as a role model for other industries in applying the principles of Sustainable Development. Islamic banking is a bank that has a potential bank business model by implementing green banking, as well as provisions of Bank Indonesia as the Central Bank which has included Green Banking as a concept to be implemented in its business practices. This study developed a research framework to explore the relationship between green banking products and green corporate image green customer satisfaction, and green customer loyalty for Syariah Banking. Analysis technique used to analyze the data analysis Path (Path analysis). The results showed that for green banking products and green corporate image effect directly on green customer satisfaction but green banking product has not affect directly to  customers satisfaction, opposite green corporate image that affect directly to green customers loyality

Abstract

Interest of investors in investing in the stock market is to get a rate of returnas an element of revenue. Given this background, this study was to determine the influence of ethical islamic return on investment and the value of the company, as well as the effect of the investment on firm value. The research was conducted on companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index for the period 2012-2015. The results showed an increase in income of non-kosher will lower interest of investors to invest, increase the amount of revenue non-kosher will lower the value of the company, an increase in the deviation of investment according to Islamic principles have a negative significant effect to company value, and increasing the amount of income halal through investments based on the principle -prinsip sharia will enhance shareholder value.
