Abstract

Mucuna bracteata is a Legume Cover Crop (LCC) which has many advantages compared to other LCC. The generative propagation of M. bracteata is very difficult because of the seed coat is hard and thick, so that it has a long dormancy period and low germination. Germination without seed treatment, the germination ability only 12% to 18.33%. The efforts are made to break the seed dormancy by soaking the seeds in the sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to remove the lignin layer in the seed coat. The present study objective was to determine the appropriate concentration of H2SO4 for breaking dormancy of M. bracteata seeds. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of the 3rd Campus Andalas University, Dharmasraya, in April to June 2019 using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of 3 treatments with 4 replications. The seed treatments were some concentrations of H2SO4 namely 3%, 4%, and 5%. The observed variables were T50 break dormancy period, germination ability, abnormal germination, dead seed, first count test, index value, and maximum growth potential. The observation data were analyzed by an F test at a 5% level, followed by the Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a level of 5%. The results showed that soaking of M. bracteata seeds in H2SO4 with a concentration of 3% was the best treatment, a T50 value of 8.75 days after planting with a germination capacity of 78.50%.

Abstract

The limitations of paddy fields can be overcome by the use of dry land through the application of the Aerobic Rice system. To increase rice production, the application of organic fertilizer is used as organic material that can improve the characteristics of dry land to nutrients available to plants. This study aims to determine the dose of goat manure that can increase the growth and yield of rice plants through the application of Aerobic Rice technology so as to be able to overcome the problems faced by people in Rejang Lebong District on land productivity and rice productivity. This study used factorial Randomized Complete Design, namely varieties and doses of goat manure on the Aerobic Rice system which were repeated three times. The results showed that real interactions were shown in the nine characters growth and yield observed, namely plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, flowering age, harvest age, panicle number, panicle length and number of pellets and number of pellets per clump. The difference in varieties is clearly indicated by the eight characters of growth and results observed, namely plant height, flowering age, harvest age, panicle length, number of pithy grains, weighted grain weight and number of pithy grains per clump. The application of goat manure doses also significantly affected twelve characters observed such as plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, age of flowering, harvest age, number of panicles, panicle length, number of rice grains, weight of grains, number of grains per clump, grain weight per clump and weight of 100 grains.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang uji kualitas air muara sungai Lais, Bengkulu Utara. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui kualitas perairan dan potensi pemanfaatan untuk perikanan. Penentuan status kualitas air berdasarkanstandar National Sanitation Foundation Water Quality Index (NSF-WQI). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan objek yang diteliti dengan data atau variable dan gejala atau keadaan, tidak dimaksudkan untuk menguji hipotesis tertentu. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan kualitas air muara sungai Lais berdasarkan Water Quality Indexs (WQI) adalah pada kisaran normal (medium) dengan nilai 60 (50-70 normal). Namun untuk peruntukannya berpedoman pada Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2001 tentang Pengelolaan Kualitas Air dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air, dimana kriteria memenuhi baku mutu air kelas empat. Sehingga untuk saat ini belum memungkinkan dimanfaatkan bagi kepentingan perikanan karena masih tingginya fosfat 3.32 mg/l dan Facel coliform 6,755.56 jml/100 ml. Namun perairan muara sungai Lais memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai lokasi kegiatan perikanan dengan perbaikan, pengelolaan dan infrastuktur dengan memperhatikan dimensi lingkungan secara kontinu serta mengikutsertakan peran aktif masyarakat sekitar. Sehingga perairan muara sungai Lais dapat bermanfaat bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar dimasa sekarang dan akan datang.Kata kunci: Water Quality Index, Potensi Peruntukan, Muara Sungai Lais

Abstract

Mycorrhizae and PGPR (Plant Growt Promoting Rhizobacteria) are widely published in scientific research can increase crop production by optimizing nutrient uptake, but studies rarely combine PGPR bacterial groups with mycorrhizae in one application on one plant. Mycorrhizal fungi can help plants absorb phosphorus and water absorption while PGPR can provide nitrogen for host plants. The general objective of this research is to find an effective combination of mycorrhizae, PGPR and Fertilizers. While the specific purpose of this study is to look for the influence of mycorrhizae, PGPR and fertilizer in increasing the production of black soybean plants. The results showed that mycorrhizal and PGPR treatment had not been able to increase nutrient uptake of nitrogen and phosphorus so that the parameters of increased production such as the number of pods, pod weight, seed weight and weight of 100 black soybean seeds were not significantly different. Mycorrhizal, PGPR and fertilizer treatments were not significantly different, treatment between mycorrhizal, PGPR and fertilizer negatively influenced each other, mycorrhiza experienced competition between fungi in the soil, as well as PGPR experienced competition with other microbials that were in the soil or competition between mycorrhizae and PGPR. An effective treatment in increasing the production of black soybean plants is mycorrhiza without PGPR and added 25% fertilizer.

Abstract

Cimbing perch fish is one of the prospective species to be developed into anaquaculture commodity.The purposes of this study was to determine the performance of the results of spawning of climbing perch fish in tarpaulin with different water levels. The study was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The study design used a completely randomized design, three treatments, three replications. The treatment is different water levels: P1 (16 cm), P2 (28 cm), P3 (40 cm). The results showed that different water levels had a significant effect on latent time, number of eggs and survival of larvae (D0 - D3) of climbing perch fish.The study showed that the treatment of P3 (40 cm) gave the fastest latency time, which was 16,077 minutes, 4,347 eggs spawned and the percentage of survival of larvae (D0-D3) 88.82%. Conclusion, the best water level for spawning climbing perch in a tarpaulin pond is 40 cm.

Abstract

Aglaonema in Indonesia has 30 species of diverse colors, currently Aglaonem which has color-irradiated leaves is a trend center for ornamental plant lovers. Rejang Lebong is a hilly area, has a variety of soil types, the average rainfall is 233.75 mm / month, the normal normal temperature is 17.73ºC - 30.94ºC, with physical conditions like this Rejang Lebong has various types of plants both agricultural crops, plantations, medicines, protective plants and ornamental plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of germplasm, characterize and collect Aglaonema plants in the Rejang Lebong plateau. The method in this research is a survey method. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the presence of germplasm of the aglaonema plant found in the Rejang Lebong plateau, was characterized by 37 variants of the aglaonema plant in the Rejang Lebong plateau, and very minimal species of aglaonema found in the Rejang Lebong plateau posed a threat to the scarcity of Aglaonema plants, especially the type of Aglaonema species.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the response of lowland Cauliflower plants cultivated in PMK land using bokhasi palm fronds as an effort to improve PMK land. Another goal is to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers in Cauliflower cultivation so that it is expected to reduce production costs. The study was conducted in Pintu Batu sub-district, Teluk Segara sub-district, Bengkulu city with a height above sea level of 10 m, in May to August 2018 the method used was a one-factor Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 3 replications. The treatments given consisted of 3 systems namely organic cultivation, semi-organic cultivation, and conventional cultivation. The results showed a significant effect of the cultivation system treatment on the growth and yield of Cauliflower plants. Conventional and semi-organic and organic cultivation show significant differences in the growth variable, which are leaf area and wet weights and yield variables, ie crop wet weight. The average crop weight obtained in conventional cultivation is 416 g / plant significantly different from the crop weight produced in semi-organic cultivation is 243 g / plant. Semi-organic cultivation of plant growth is not uniform compared to conventional cultivation which is relatively uniform so that harvest time can be done more than once.

Abstract

The area of ??Rejang Lebong Regency in Selupu Rejang District is the business of the sugar palm business called UD Sari Aren. Granular palm sugar processing business has been running for more than fifteen years. Because UD Sari Aren is the only sugar granular palm industry the researchers are interested in seeing business feasibility through a profitability approach which is a comparison between earnings and capital. This study aims to determine the value of profitability and profit of UD Sari Aren granular palm sugar. This research uses census method, and profitability ratio analysis tool. Purposive sampling technique, with the criteria for one of the businesses that has been in existence for more than twelve years. The results of the study, the production costs incurred by UD. Sari Aren amounted to Rp 2,550,000,000 per year. The production value of this business is IDR 3,360,000,000 / year with a production of 96,000 kg / year. The selling price is IDR 35,000 / kg. the profit obtained is Rp. 810,000,000.- / year. The profitability value from the ratio of profit and capital is 31.76 percent. Abstract

The study aimed to determine growth and yield performance of sweet corn, peanut, red bean as well as string bean on either monoculture and intercropping system on organic farming practice and to determine Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) on the intercropping system. The experiment was conducted at CAPS Research Station (1054 m above sea level) from September through December 2018. A single factor evaluated was arranged in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) as follows: monoculture sweet corn, monoculture peanut, monoculture red bean, monoculture string bean, intercropping sweet corn – peanut, intercropping sweet corn – red bean, and intercropping sweet corn – string bean. Each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed, either peanut, red bean, and string bean can’t be intercropped with sweet corn in organic farming practice due to high weed competition. The LER in all intercropping was greater than one indicating than intercropping of intercropping sweet corn – peanut, intercropping sweet corn – red bean and intercropping sweet corn – string bean is more efficient and more productive the monoculture of each crop.

Abstract

Shrimp head has a high protein content (25-40%,) so that Shrimp head can be processed into fish sauce. The purpose of this study was tocharacterize the quality of shrimp head sauce through proteins, viscicity, and organoleptics analysis.The results showed that shrimp head sauce protein all treatment have meet quality standards,that is above 2,5%. The highest shrimp head sauce protein content is on the treatment of 15% pineapple extract volume variation and incubation time for 24 hour, which is equal to 5,893%. From the results of the study, it can be seen that the highest viscosity value is the treatment of 15% pineapple extract volume with a 24-hour incubation time of 33,260 cP. From the results of the study, it can be seen that the highest viscosity value is the treatment of 15% pineapple extract volume with a 24-hour incubation time of 33,260 cP. The highest organoleptic results for the color, taste, and thickness of shrimp head soy sauce were 15% pineapple extract volume treatment and 24 hour incubation time with color values ??4.6 (very like), taste value 4.05 (likes) and thickness 4, 65 (really like).
