Abstract

The development of digital technology in the modern era demands that the world of education provides learning media that are creative, innovative, and appropriate to the character of students. However, in practice, Indonesian language learning is still dominated by conventional methods that are less interesting, resulting in minimal learning motivation and low student understanding of the material. This problem indicates the need for learning media that can integrate visual elements, text, and interactivity, one of which is through the use of digital comics. This study aims to describe the role of digital comics as an innovative and creative Indonesian language learning medium and explain how the media contributes to increasing student motivation, engagement, and understanding. The method used in this study is a literature study, namely by analyzing various previous studies, national journals, scientific articles, and relevant books related to the use of digital comics in learning. The literature study procedure includes source collection, classification, thematic analysis, and synthesis of research results. The results of the study indicate that digital comics have a significant role as a learning medium that can increase the appeal of the material, facilitate understanding of text concepts, foster student creativity, and create a more interactive learning atmosphere. Digital comics have also been proven effective in developing students' visual literacy and reading literacy skills. In conclusion, digital comics are a suitable alternative for innovative and creative Indonesian language learning media, and can support improving the quality of teaching and learning in the digital era.

Abstract

TAUFIQ HIDAYAT, 2025. The Effect of the Active Model of the Question-Giving and Answering Type on the Indonesian Speaking Skills of Class V of MIN 1 Gowa. Thesis, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Elementary School Teacher Education. Supervisor I Munirah and Supervisor II Syahruddin. This study aims to determine the effect of the Active Model of the Question-Giving and Answering Type on the Indonesian Speaking Skills of Class V of MIN Gowa. This study employed a quantitative experimental approach (pre-experimental design) with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 35 fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Gowa. The instruments used for data collection were observation, tests, and documentation. Based on the research results, data analysis, and discussion, it can be concluded that the Question and Answer model has an impact on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Gowa. This can be seen from the increase in test scores given before the Question and Answer model was implemented, which only obtained an average score of 56.6, with 71% being in the very low category, 14% being in the low category, 6% being in the medium category, 9% being in the high category, and 0% being in the very high category. After the Question and Answer model was implemented, the average post-test score was 79.6, with 0% being in the very low category, 20% being in the low category, and 17% being in the medium category. Meanwhile, the high category was 46% and 17% being in the high category.The results of students' speaking skills and data obtained using the t-test formula after t = 17 and t = 2.032, then t > t, or 17 > 2.032. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that the Giving Questions and Getting Answers model has an effect on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Gowa.

Abstract

IPAS learning at the elementary school level often leads to boredom among students, especially when studying map material without the use of engaging media. This study aims to describe the effect of implementing YouTube-based learning media on improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 23 Pekanbaru in the map material of the IPAS subject. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with a pretest-posttest design. The research instrument consisted of a learning achievement test related to map material. The data analysis results indicate a significant effect of YouTube-based learning media on students’ learning outcomes, as evidenced by the paired sample t-test showing a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05, which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The improvement is also seen in the comparison of minimum, maximum, and average posttest scores, which are higher than those of the pretest. Furthermore, the N-Gain value of 0.5819 indicates a moderate level of improvement. Thus, the implementation of YouTube-based learning media has proven to be effective in enhancing the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 23 Pekanbaru on map material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers' pedagogical competence in improving students' critical thinking skills in the Society 5.0 era. Using a literature review method, 10 relevant journal articles from the past five years were collected. The findings of this study indicate that teachers' pedagogical competence plays a strategic role in creating student-centered learning experiences, effectively integrating technology, and designing learning environments that encourage inquiry, discussion, and reflection. Strong pedagogical competence has been shown to positively correlate with improved students' critical thinking skills through innovative learning models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PjBL). Teachers still face challenges related to digital adaptation and the need for ongoing training.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a groundstroke skill learning model for beginner tennis players. Groundstroke skills, including the forehand and backhand, are essential components in mastering tennis techniques. However, beginner students generally face difficulties in stroke consistency, motor coordination, and understanding body mechanics when executing groundstrokes. This study used an evaluative method with a quasi-experimental approach through a pretest–posttest design. The subjects were 20 students enrolled in a basic tennis course. The measurement instrument was a groundstroke skill test covering direction accuracy, ball control, and technical accuracy. Data were analyzed using a t-test to determine significant differences between scores before and after the implementation of the learning model. The results showed a significant increase in groundstroke skills in students after the implementation of the learning model. The average posttest score increased significantly compared to the pretest, indicating that the learning model used was effective in improving basic groundstroke technique skills. Therefore, this learning model can be used as an alternative learning strategy in tennis courses to optimally improve the quality of beginner students’ skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the maxim of agreement as a strategy of linguistic politeness in digital academic discourse, specifically in the Bincang Fakultas podcast by Kece Media UNESA. This study uses a sociopragmatic approach with Leech's (1983) politeness theory to examine forms of compliance and violation of the maxim of agreement in the speech of the speakers and hosts. This approach is relevant because it combines social and pragmatic dimensions in understanding academic communication practices in the digital space. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data sources in the form of transcripts of 15 podcast episodes uploaded between 2022 and 2025. The data were analyzed through the stages of identification, classification, social context interpretation, and verification based on sociopragmatic indicators. The results show that the application of the maxim of agreement plays an important role in creating harmonious academic interactions, demonstrating respect for the interlocutor, and strengthening the image of polite academics in the digital public sphere. In addition, violations of the maxim of agreement were also found in the form of interruptions or differences of opinion that were still conveyed politely. The novelty of this research lies in the context of academic podcast media, which shows a shift in politeness practices from formal classrooms to more open but still ethical digital communication. These findings enrich the study of digital sociopragmatics and contribute to the development of academic communication ethics in the new media era.

Abstract

The decline in the learning achievement of elementary school students in Indonesia is a serious challenge in the world of education, as reflected in the 2025 Education Report data. The phenomenon of schooling without learning shows that the presence of students in school does not guarantee meaningful understanding. This encourages the need for an in-depth study of the role of teachers as the main actors in the learning process. This study aims to describe in detail how teachers at SDN 1 Glempang carry out their strategic role in improving student achievement, both through classroom learning and coaching outside the classroom. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out interactively through reduction, presentation, and triangulation-based conclusions. The research informants included classroom teachers, subject teachers, and principals. The results of the study show that teachers at SDN 1 Glempang play the role of facilitators, motivators, classroom managers, and coaches of students' potential. The strategies implemented include identifying and fostering student potential, providing motivation and strengthening of competitive mentality, collaboration between teachers and principals, and managing extracurricular programs as a forum for achievement. All of these practices are in line with the school's vision and mission, which is to form a generation that is faithful, intelligent, resilient, and globally competitive. From here, optimizing the role of teachers collaboratively and contextually is the key to improving student achievement in a sustainable manner. These findings are expected to be practical recommendations for the development of teacher professionalism and the strengthening of evidence-based education policies at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of schools in building religious character in rural communities. In general, the village community is known for a harmonious social life, religious, and prioritizes the value of togetherness. However, the ease of access to information caused by technology and lifestyle changes have led to changes that have an effect on these societies. Although it provides advantages in terms of increased access to information and education, globalization also presents a major challenge to the preservation of local and religious values. In this case, the school as a formal educational institution has an important role in maintaining and reviving religious values among the younger generation. This role is realized through the implementation of religious education curricula, the organization of various religious activities in the school environment, as well as the example shown by teachers. Thus, the school became an effective tool to strengthen the religious character increasingly eroded by the influence of modernity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by applying the case study method in a village involved.

Abstract

Artikel berjudul “Arete dan Paideia: Konsep Manusia Ideal Sokrates dalam Perspektif Pendidikan Modern” berangkat dari kegelisahan bahwa pendidikan masa kini kerap melupakan warisan tata‑nilai klasik yang menautkan pengetahuan dan kebajikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menafsirkan secara sistematis konsep manusia ideal menurut Sokrates melalui poros aretê (keunggulan kebajikan) dan Paideia (pembentukan manusia), serta menilai relevansinya bagi desain pembelajaran modern di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan ialah kajian kepustakaan kualitatif atas literatur klasik dan kontemporer tentang pedagogi sokratik, relasi pengetahuan–kebajikan, dan strategi pembelajaran dialogis, dianalisis secara tematik‑argumentatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Sokrates memandang pendidikan sebagai Paideia yang menyatukan klarifikasi konsep lewat dialog (elenchus, maieutic) dengan habituasi kebajikan, sehingga pengetahuan yang benar menuntun pada tindakan yang baik. Manusia ideal digambarkan sebagai pribadi yang mampu mempertanggungjawabkan alasannya, konsisten pada kebajikan kardinal, dan terus memperbaiki diri melalui refleksi dan dialog. Secara operasional, diskusi kasus, moral dilemma discussion, debat terarah, dan asesmen formatif berbasis rubrik argumentasi mendukung HOTS, karakter, dan civic virtue. Kebaruan penelitian ini adalah sintesis konseptual‑praktis aretê–Paideia yang dipetakan ke konteks kurikulum Indonesia, menjembatani tesis “kebajikan adalah pengetahuan” dengan habituasi moral dan menawarkan perangkat implementatif untuk pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 requires transformation in elementary school learning, including science education. One relevant instructional innovation is Augmented Reality (AR), which offers interactive and contextual visualization. This study aims to analyze the use of Augmented Reality-based media in elementary science learning, focusing on its forms of implementation, benefits, and challenges. This research employed a qualitative literature review by examining relevant national and international journal articles published within the last 5–10 years. Literature searches were conducted through Google Scholar, Garuda, and reputable international journals using a simplified PRISMA flow. The findings indicate that AR is commonly implemented through three-dimensional visualization and interactive simulations for abstract science concepts such as energy, force, and living structures. The use of AR has been shown to improve conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and student engagement. However, challenges remain related to teachers’ digital competencies and technological infrastructure. Therefore, teacher training and institutional support are essential to ensure sustainable integration of AR in elementary science learning.
