Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of third-grade students at UPT SDN 10 Makale through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model based on an ethnomathematics approach. The identified problem was the low learning outcomes in mathematics, caused by the lack of connection between the material and students' real-life experiences and local culture. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, formative tests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed significant improvements in students' learning outcomes, both in terms of mathematical concept understanding and learning motivation. In the first cycle, 60% of students met the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKTP), while in the second cycle, the completion rate reached 85%. The application of the CTL model based on ethnomathematics had a positive impact on improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts by linking the material to local culture, particularly the Toraja carving motifs. This study recommends the implementation of similar models to enhance the quality of mathematics teaching in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of group guidance services using snakes and ladders game media in improving the learning interest of class IX C students at SMP Negeri 2 Selogiri in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Selogiri and involved ten students who were categorized as having low learning interest. The research employed Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) implemented in three cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through learning interest questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a gradual improvement in students’ learning interest after the implementation of group guidance services using snakes and ladders game media. In the pre-cycle stage, students’ learning interest was 54% and categorized as low. It increased to 60% in Cycle I, 70% in Cycle II, and showed a significant improvement to 83% in Cycle III, with a total increase of 29% from the initial condition. This improvement indicates that learning interest indicators, including enjoyment, attention, interest, and student involvement, met the predetermined success criteria. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that group guidance services using snakes and ladders game media are effective in improving the learning interest of class IX C students at SMP Negeri 2 Selogiri.

Abstract

English language learning at the elementary education level, particularly in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, plays an important role in developing students’ basic language skills from an early age. However, vocabulary learning in lower grades is still commonly conducted using conventional methods such as textbooks and memorization, which often result in low student participation and boredom. Therefore, learning innovations are needed to create more engaging, concrete, and meaningful learning experiences.This study aims to describe the innovation of English language learning through the use of flashcard media in Grade II of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Unggulan Bustanul Ma’arif. Specifically, the study seeks to describe the implementation process of flashcards, students’ responses and learning activeness during the learning process, and changes in students’ English vocabulary mastery after the use of flashcard media.This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of an English teacher and second-grade students. Data were collected through classroom observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the use of flashcard media was implemented in a structured manner through vocabulary introduction using illustrated flashcards, joint pronunciation practice, and interactive exercises. The flashcard media increased students’ learning activeness and enthusiasm and had a positive impact on improving students’ English vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low underhand passing skills of junior high school extracurricular students due to limited training media and fear of using standard balls. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of plastic ball modification on improving the underhand passing skills of junior high school extracurricular students at SMP Negeri Satu Atap 1 Kabupaten Karawang. The research employed an experimental method with a quantitative approach and a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 27 volleyball extracurricular students. Data collection techniques were conducted through underhand passing skill tests before and after the intervention, while data analysis used descriptive statistical tests and paired difference tests. The results showed an increase in the average underhand passing ability of students after being given treatment in the form of training using modified plastic balls. These findings indicate that plastic ball modification is effective in improving underhand passing skills because it provides a sense of safety, increases the frequency of training, and encourages active student participation. The study concluded that the use of plastic balls as a modified training medium positively influenced the improvement of students' underhand passing skills in volleyball. The implication of this research is that teachers and coaches are advised to utilise plastic balls as an alternative medium for teaching and practising basic volleyball techniques in schools.

Abstract

The digital transformation, marked by the massive use of social media among students, presents new challenges in shaping civic ethics and behavior in the digital space. Various issues such as the spread of false information, hate speech, violations of communication ethics, and low awareness of digital law demonstrate the need to strengthen values education relevant to the digital context. Civics Education plays a strategic role in shaping students' digital ethics through the internalization of Pancasila values, social norms, and the principles of democratic citizenship that are adaptive to technological developments. This study aims to examine the role of Civics Education in improving students' digital ethics in using social media. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with literature review techniques. Data were analyzed through a process of reduction, thematic categorization, and concept synthesis to obtain a comprehensive picture of the contribution of PKn to the formation of digital ethics. The study results show that Civics learning, which contextually integrates digital literacy, digital citizenship, and Pancasila moral values, can increase students' ethical awareness, critical thinking, and responsibility in using social media. Thus, Civics Education plays a significant role in shaping the character of young citizens who are ethical, critical, and responsible in digital life.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The ability of junior high school students to solve mathematical problems related to Two-Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV) remains quite low, primarily due to a focus on teacher-led instruction and the limited participation of students. This research aims to evaluate how effective the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach, supported by the Wayground educational game, is on enhancing students’ skills in solving math problems, as well as to assess how Habits of Mind (HoM) affect those skills. A quantitative method was applied, utilizing a nonequivalent control group layout, with the study participants drawn from three classes sharing similar variance; specifically, class VIII A served as the experimental group, class VIII C acted as the control class, while class VIIID was designated for the instrument trial. The tools for this research included a test to measure mathematical problem-solving capabilities and a questionnaire on HoM. Analysis of the data was conducted using nonparametric techniques, such as the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, the Mann–Whitney U test, and the Spearman correlation test. Findings from the research revealed that the PBL approach, when paired with the Wayground educational game, significantly improved students’ math problem-solving abilities, achieving a classical completeness rate of 80. 77%. Moreover, there was a notable distinction in math problem-solving skills between the experimental and control classes, although HoM did not show a significant impact on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to describe the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning based on the perceptions of Civics (PPKn) and to analyze the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilization in Civics learning on strengthening students social responsibility.This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive interpretative research design. Data were obtained from primary and secondary sources through observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data was ensured through source and technique triangulation. Data analysis was conducted through several stages, including data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study be concluded that civics teachers perceived the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, as a learning support tool that assists in lesson planning and material enrichment, without replacing the essential role of teachers as the main educators in guiding and shaping students character and the utilization of AI in Civics learning had an influence on strengthening students’ social responsibility, especially in terms of social awareness and understanding. Students showed better comprehension of social issues and civic responsibilities; however, this influence had not been fully reflected in consistent changes in students’ social attitudes and behaviors. The development of empathy, social concern, and responsibility still requires continuous teacher guidance, experiential learning activities, and support from the school environment and families. Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of using the contextual learning model on students' understanding and learning independence at UPTD SDN Pejagan 1 Bangkalan in Pancasila education. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study consisted of all 21 students in class 5A. The instruments used in this study were questions and questionnaires. The analysis tests used were validity tests to determine the validity of the instrument data, reliability tests to determine the consistency level of the valid instruments, normality tests to determine whether the distribution of the instrument data was normal or not, and paired sample t-tests to determine the difference in the mean of the data of two variables from two samples using the SPSS application. This can be proven in the use of the contextual learning model through the use of kartopan media in Pancasila education, which has a significant effect on students' understanding and learning independence based on the analysis results of a sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning through the fun learning approach and its impact on students’ emotional intelligence at Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) Faturrahman, Tangkit Baru Village. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the fun learning approach through playing, singing, storytelling, and educational games creates an enjoyable and participative learning atmosphere. It increases students’ motivation, activeness, and understanding of IRE materials. Furthermore, this approach contributes positively to the development of students’ emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, emotional control, empathy, cooperation, and social skills. The obstacles faced include limited learning media, short learning time, and differences in students’ abilities.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the importance of developing students’ emotional intelligence as a foundation for character formation in the school environment. Through the Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R), the school organizes emotional management life skill activities to equip students in dealing with social dynamics and peer pressure. This study aims to analyze the implementation and impact of emotional management life skills in fostering students’ emotional intelligence and its implications for strengthening moral intelligence and character at SMP Negeri 22 Semarang. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation to collect in-depth data. PIK-R administrators delivered the material through interactive sessions, including concept presentations, group discussions, educational games, and question-and-answer activities. The program encourages students to recognize their emotions, regulate their responses effectively, understand others’ feelings, and develop positive peer communication. Although not all students demonstrated optimal participation, the activity provided initial experiences that enhanced self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and social skills. Overall, the emotional management life skills program through PIK-R contributes to the development of students’ emotional intelligence, which serves as a foundation for strengthening moral intelligence and character within the school context.
