Abstract

Creativity is one of the important abilities that need to be developed in elementary school students, especially in fine arts learning to help students express ideas and develop creative thinking skills. However, in practice, art learning still does not utilize materials in the surrounding environment as meaningful learning media so that student engagement in the learning process is not optimal. Initial conditions indicate that student creativity is relatively low, where 62% of students have not reached the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 70. This study aims to describe the process of utilizing plastic waste materials in collage learning and increasing the creativity of fourth-grade students of UPTD SD Negeri 10 Juli, Bireuen Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects were 21 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and student performance tests. Data analysis techniques used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models which include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the use of plastic waste materials in collage learning can be implemented effectively through the stages of material preparation, the manufacturing process, and the completion of the work. Student creativity increased, as indicated by the percentages for each indicator: fluency (91.6%), flexibility (86.9%), originality (83.3%), and elaboration (78.5%), with an overall average of 85.1%, which is in the very good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of plastic waste materials in collage learning can enhance the creativity of fourth-grade students and provide an engaging, active, and meaningful learning experience.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of extracurricular scouting activities in forming the character of discipline in high-grade elementary schools. Strengthening the formation of disciplined character is important considering the many moral crisis incidents in various groups, including children. Therefore, character formation needs to be honed as early as possible. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that extracurricular scouting activities play a role in forming a disciplined character by getting students used to arriving on time, obeying existing rules, completing assignments on time and using good and correct language. (1) forms of scouting activities designed to form a disciplined character through physical training (PBB, pioneering, ropes and others), ceremonies (morning roll call), and social interactions (group activities and forming a squad). (2) Through the process of instilling habits with various forms of activity, over time students will start to get used to doing things such as arriving on time, obeying existing rules, doing assignments on time and using good and correct language repeatedly, so that students can have good personalities and discipline during scouting activities and in their daily routines in the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the jigsaw cooperative learning model on the Indonesian language learning achievement of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 2 Turatea, Jeneponto Regency. This study is a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects were all 20 fourth-grade students, with a total sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through written tests, observations, and documentation. The instruments used were learning outcome tests and student activity observation sheets. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the average pretest score of 54.65 was in the low and incomplete category, while the average posttest score increased to 85.75 in the high and complete category. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of <0.05 so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on the Indonesian language learning achievement of fourth grade students at UPT SDN 2 Turatea, Jeneponto Regency.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology requires increased use of computer devices in educational environments, particularly at SMK Negeri 8 Padang, which has a high intensity of computer laboratory use. However, the limited time available to technicians to diagnose computer malfunctions means that many devices are not used optimally. This study aims to develop a web-based expert system capable of detecting symptoms of computer malfunctions using the forward chaining method. This method works based on IF-THEN rules to draw conclusions from symptom data input by users. The system was developed using an iterative model approach within the SDLC framework and tested using the black box method and validated by experts and users. The results of the testing show that the system is feasible and effective to use, and is able to assist teachers, students, and technicians in accurately diagnosing damage. The evaluation results show that this system is capable of detecting computer damage according to its symptoms, accelerating the process of detecting computer damage, and increasing the accuracy and time efficiency of the computer damage checking process. The system has a validity rate of 84.17% and a practicality validity of 90.8%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning media in the form of a diorama assisted by a crossword puzzle game based on local wisdom for the IPAS subject that is feasible to use. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data collection techniques employed in this study include observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative and qualitative approaches, utilizing a scoring tabel with percentage criteria to determine the feasibility of the learning media. The results showed that the material expert validator obtained an average score of 82.85%, the media expert validator obtained an average score of 96.66%, and student responses achieved a score of 91.42%. Based on the results of material expert validation, media expert validation, and student responses, it can be concluded that the diorama learning media assisted by a crossword puzzle game based on local wisdom is categorized as very feasible for use in the learning process for third-grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of STREAM-based project assignments on the spiritual attitudes of fifth-grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research type. The research instrument is a spiritual attitude questionnaire used to measure students' spiritual attitudes. The data collection technique is carried out by distributing spiritual attitude questionnaires to fifth-grade students of SDN Kebraon 1/436 Surabaya. The data obtained are analyzed using statistical analysis with the help of the SPSS program. The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of STREAM-based project assignments on the spiritual attitudes of fifth-grade elementary school students. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of STREAM-based project assignments is effective in improving students' spiritual attitudes.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Catholic Religious Education in shaping the social interaction behavior of Catholic students in Oebobo District using a descriptive qualitative approach. The background of this study is the tendency of social dynamics among students that do not fully reflect Christian moral values ​​in everyday social interactions. The study was conducted at several universities and church communities in Oebobo District with 30 key informants consisting of active Catholic students, religious educators, and spiritual mentors. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation of educational activities and church services. The results of the study indicate that Catholic Religious Education plays a significant role in shaping the social interaction behavior of Catholic students. The analysis findings indicate that structured religious education, experiential learning (e.g., social service activities and spiritual retreats), and regular moral guidance from educators and spiritual mentors strengthen the internalization of Christian values ​​such as tolerance, empathy, honesty, and cooperation. The majority of respondents (more than 80%) reported positive changes in how they interact with peers, lecturers, and the wider community after consistently participating in the religious education program. However, challenges arise in consistently practicing values ​​outside of the faith community, particularly when faced with social or academic pressures. This study recommends developing more contextual models of religious learning and strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and church communities to maintain the positive impact of moral education on students' social lives.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the RADEC learning model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) integrated with a deep learning approach in map learning for fifth-grade elementary students and to analyze students’ conceptual understanding in terms of their learning motivation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants were 33 fifth-grade students of SD N Petompon 01. Data were collected through observation, conceptual understanding tests, learning motivation questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The results show that the implementation of the RADEC learning model integrated with deep learning was carried out systematically through the stages of read, answer, discuss, explain, and create and was able to create an active, contextual, and meaningful learning process. Students’ conceptual understanding differed across levels of learning motivation, where students with high motivation demonstrated better conceptual understanding than those with moderate and low motivation. In addition, the RADEC learning model integrated with deep learning provided positive learning motivation indicators, such as participation, interest, confidence, and persistence during learning. Therefore, the RADEC learning model integrated with deep learning can be used as an alternative instructional strategy to facilitate students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation in map learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a blueprint of IPAS test items based on Meaningful Learning for the topic of human body organs in fifth-grade elementary school that is valid and practical. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects of this study included two expert lecturers and one teacher as validators, as well as five fifth-grade teachers as respondents for the practicality test. The research instruments consisted of interview guidelines, expert validation sheets, and teacher practicality questionnaires. The validation process assessed the suitability of content, conceptual understanding indicators, integration of Meaningful Learning principles, construction, and language aspects. The results showed that the developed blueprint achieved a feasibility percentage of 93.3%, categorized as very valid. The practicality test results indicated an average score of 3.57, categorized as very practical. These findings indicate that the Meaningful Learning-based test blueprint is appropriate to be used as a systematic guide in constructing assessment instruments oriented toward students’ conceptual understanding. The developed product is expected to support the implementation of IPAS assessment aligned with meaningful learning principles and the Merdeka Curriculum demands.

Abstract

Students’ ability to solve real-life mathematical problems is an essential competency in elementary school mathematics learning, particularly in multiplication of whole numbers. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding and solving contextual problems because learning often focuses on procedural calculation rather than conceptual understanding. This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model on students’ real-life problem-solving ability in multiplication of whole numbers in third grade of elementary school. This research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method employing a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were 16 third-grade students. Data were collected through problem-solving test instruments administered before and after the implementation of the RME model. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ problem-solving ability after the implementation of the RME model. The mean score increased from 31.56 in the pretest to 64.44 in the posttest, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the use of the Realistic Mathematics Education model has a significant effect on improving students’ real-life problem-solving ability in multiplication of whole numbers.
