Abstract

Abstract

Learning mathematics in elementary schools is a subject that is mandatory for students to learn. one of the direct objectives of mathematics lessons which also plays an important role in learning is the inculcation of concepts from mathematics itself. Several previous studies have identified learning difficulties for students in understanding the place value of numbers. Therefore, mathematics learning media on two-digit value material can be developed using interactive media which will be designed and developed with the help of Articulate Storyline. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg & Gall development procedure which has been modified into 10 stages, but in this study it was only limited to stage 4. The simplification and limitation of the 10 stages to 4 steps is due to the limited manpower and time factors. The first stage is needs analysis, the second stage is Planning, Product Design Engineering, Design Validation Stage. The results obtained from the validation of material experts. The quality of the content and the purpose of the developed media get a value of 36, 80% with a feasible category. The quality of learning from the developed media gets a score of 20, a percentage of 80% with the appropriate category, the learning media that is developed is in accordance with the context of the application of the place value material for two-digit numbers. While the results of the validation from media experts stated that the technical quality of the media developed received a total score of 56, a percentage of 80% with a feasible category, the learning media developed was declared appropriate and valid for the feasibility test.

Abstract

Transformation in the field of education can be carried out by developing more innovative and creative learning designs through a student-centered learning approach. The use of technology as a learning medium is the right choice for teachers to improve the mathematical literacy skills of elementary school students, the combination of face-to-face learning with technology-based learning is then called hybrid learning. The mathematical literacy indicators used in this study refer to questions formulated in PISA organized by the OECD. Based on this, this study then aims to determine the effect of hybrid learning in improving students' mathematical literacy skills. The results showed that the average score of students after using this learning was 80.60 with a standard deviation of 14.505 and a maximum score of 100. As for the results of the effectiveness test on the results of the independent sample t-test, it showed significant results with the calculation results of F = 0.083, df = 80, sig (2-tailed) = 0.002, which successfully answers the research hypothesis of the normality test using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test states that the data value score Sig.0.002 ≤ 0.05, thus it can be ascertained that there is a significant effect of hybrid learning on students' literacy skills.

Abstract

This study intends to determine the impact of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) on student’s creative thinking as well as the reactions of students to the use of Creative Problem Solving technique. This lack of student participation in the teaching and learning processes is what motivated the researcher to conduct this study. The only teaching strategy that can improve student’s ability for creative though is Creative Problem Solving. One group pre-test and post-test models were employed in the quantitative model for this study. This study was carried out for fifth grades students at SDN Lemahputro 1 Sidoarjo. With fiftheen 15 students served as the sample for this research. The results of the student questionnaires and a paired sample T-test with a sig. 0,05 were employed in this study. The outcame of the hypothesis measurement is 0,00 because 0,00 < 0,05, meaning that H1 was rejected since it could be inferred that the creative problem solving approach had an impact on student’s creative thinking. As 85% of the students responded to the questionnaires, it is reasonable to assume that they were quite comfortable with the creative problem solving method.
