Abstract

Jelawat fish (Leptobarbus hoevenii Blkr.) is one of the fish that is in great demand by the public. This production has problems with the body shape of fish fry which has many asymmetries and abnormalities. The cause of this cannot be ascertained, but the assumption is due to the influence of high pressure and water currents. For this reason, there needs to be clear research so that the exact cause is known. This study aims to see the fluctuations of asymmetry and abnormality in jelawat fish (L. hoeveni Blkr.) as a result of semi-intensive spawning. This research method is a sampling method on fish from semi-intensive spawning that is 2-3 cm in size. Then meristic measurements were taken and asymmetric fluctuations and abnormalities were calculated. The results of the study found that the value of number asymmetric fluctuations (FAn) ranged from 0.451 to 0. 864, while the magnitude asymmetric fluctuation (FAm) ranges from -0.044-0.053. For an abnormality of 1.05%, absolute length growth of 3.15 cm/head, absolute weight growth of 0.55 grams/head and survival rate of jellyfish larvae 99.5%.%, The results of water quality measurements were temperature range from 26-28.1oC, pH 6.7-7, dissolved oxygen of 4.7-5.3 mg/L, carbon dioxide of 5.3-8 mg/L and ammonia content in maintenance water of 0.001-0.011.

Abstract

The increasing trend in catfish production is accompanied by an increase in feed requirements and prices. This will result in the high cost of catfish production. One of the savings solutions can be done by reducing labour costs with the use of semi-automatic feeders. This study aims to analyse labour productivity in feeding methods using semi-automatic feeders and manual feeding in catfish rearing. The treatments in this study were manual feeding pond (A) and semi-automatic feeder pond (B), each with 3 replicates. Catfish with a weight of 3.4 ± 0.82 g and length of 7.8 ± 0.65 cm were reared in a pond measuring 8 m x 12 m x 0.65 m with a stocking density of 481 fish/m3. During 83 days of rearing, the fish were fed three times a day. The feeder machine sprayed feed at a speed of 16 g/sec. Growth data were taken five times in 83 days of rearing. The results showed that the parameters of survival rate (TKH), absolute growth rate of length (LPMP), and absolute growth rate of weight (LPMB) had a significant effect, while the amount of feed consumption (JKP), feed conversion ratio (RKP), and total harvest showed no difference in catfish farming. Based on labour productivity indicators, catfish farming with semi-automatic feeders has higher productivity

Abstract

Amphilopus trimaculatus (Louhan in Indonesia) is a freshwater ornamental fish that is famous among the public because it is believed to bring good luck to its owner, so it has a fairly high selling price. Keeping flowerhorn fish requires food so that the fish can grow well. This research aims to analyze the nutritional value of artificial feed made from palm kernel meal which is fermented using EM4 for different lengths of time and to analyze its effect on the growth and feed conversion ratio of flowerhorn fish. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments applied were P1 not fermented, P2 fermented for 3 days, P3 fermented for 5 days and P4 fermented for 7 days. The fish used in this study had an initial length of 3-5 cm and an initial weight of 1.5-2 g. Fish were kept for 40 days in aquariums measuring 30×30×40 cm using a recirculation system. Each aquarium is filled with 20 liters of water with a stocking density of 10 fish/aquarium. Fish were fed 3 times a day using ad-satiation. The results of the proximate nutritional analysis of the feed showed that the protein content of the feed was 32.53%, 35.97%, 37.31% and 36.31% for P1, P2, P3 and P4 respectively. The feed fat content was 6.19%, 7.26%, 6.38% and 7.44% for P1, P2, P3 and P4 respectively. Data analysis was carried out using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a confidence level of 95% and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The best fish growth performance and feed conversion ratio were achieved by P2, although statistically there was no significant difference in fish growth (P<0.05) but had a significant effect on the feed conversion ratio (P>0.05).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of adding probiotics to feed on the growth of African catfish (C. garipenus). The study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications, including feed without probiotics (A/control), Probiotic dose 4 ml/kg feed (B), Probiotic dose 8 ml/kg feed (C) and Probiotic dose 12 ml/kg feed (D). The test fish that will be used are African catfish seeds measuring 4.22 cm - 4.71 cm. The main test material that will be used is probitic (Lacto-Bact) in the form of flour which is dissolved in distilled water at a dose of 2% kg of feed. The containers used in this research were 12 aquariums measuring 70x40x30 cm with a water volume of 24 L. The parameters observed in this research included feed conversion ratio (FCR), absolute weight growth (PBM), absolute length growth (PPM), survival, proximate test of feed and water quality. The results of the research showed that there was a very significant development in the length and average length. The initial weight of fish at stocking ranged from 0.83-0.89 g/head and increased by 184.89%-333.88% to 2.37-3.81 g/fish. The initial average length of the test fish at the time of stocking ranged between 4.22-4.72 cm/fish and increased by 59.14% - 67.39% to 6.72 - 7.89 cm/fish. The FCR value ranges between 1.33-3.23. PBM values ranged from 1.54-2.93 g/head. PPM values range between 2.50-3.18 cm/head. The SR value ranges between 81.39% - 88.89%. The highest protein content in treatment D was 23.6015%. Feed protein for all types of feed treatment varies relatively in the range of 17.5058%-23.6015%. The results of the water quality analysis of the rearing media show that the water quality is still within the appropriate range for rearing African catfish.

Abstract

The current concept of aquaculture technology development prioritizes zero waste discharge fish/shrimp production systems through an in situ biofiltration process to maintain water quality and recycle aquaculture waste into a highly nutritious supplementary feed source. This study aims to 1) Analyze the abundance, diversity, and dominance of plakton in tilapia rearing tanks of biofloc system with the addition of molasses and sugarcane juice as carbohydrate sources, 2) Analyzing the growth rate of tilapia specifications, weight growth, and length of tilapia (O.niloticus) in biofloc systems treated with the addition of molasses and sugarcane juice as a carbohydrate source. This study used the t-student test with a confidence level of 95%, with 2 treatments namely; P1 giving molasses; P2 giving sugarcane juice. The results showed that the addition of different carbohydrate sources in tilapia enlargement resulted in the highest tilapia weight growth in the P1 treatment with the addition of molasses has an average value of 32.97 g. P2 treatment with the addition of sugar cane juice has an average value of 24.55 g. In length growth has the highest average value in the P1 treatment given the addition of molasses which is 2.37 cm while for P2 with sugar cane juice treatment has a value of 2.27cm. The specific growth rate of tilapia was highest in the P2 treatment with an average value of 1.79% / day, while the P1 treatment had an average value of 1.51% / day. From the results of statistical analysis on weight growth and specific growth of tilapia significantly different but not significantly different from the growth of tilapia length. Plankton abundance in this study showed differences in each treatment, the results of observations from research for 30 days found data that the treatment of molasses has a plankton abundance value of 3780 individual plankton / l while for the treatment of sugar cane juice has a value of 2772 individual plankton / l. The conclusion of this study is the abundance of plankton in the fish tank. The conclusion of this study is that the abundance of plankton in the molasses pond treatment shows more diverse results and a higher abundance index compared to the sugar cane juice treatment, so the molasses-treated pond shows more fertile waters than the sugar cane juice treatment. Then for the growth of length and weight of tilapia given additional molasses showed better results than sugar cane juice, due to the addition of molasses can accelerate the growth of tilapia

Abstract

Broodstock transportation is a critical phase in aquaculture in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), directly influencing brood quality and reproductive success. This study investigated the effectiveness of sweet potato leaf extract (Ipomoea batatas) at varying concentrations in a closed transport system to reduce stress and improve survival. A completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications was employed: N1 (control, no extract), N2 (2 mL/L extract), N3 (4 mL/L extract), and N4 (6 mL/L extract). Parameters measured included survival rate (SR), daily growth rate (DGR), feed consumption (FC), water quality (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrite), and stress response via blood glucose levels. Results indicated that adding sweet potato leaf extract significantly influenced water quality, reduced stress, and improved fish survival. The 4 mL/L treatment (N3) yielded the best outcomes, with a 100% survival rate and the lowest blood glucose level (77.67 mg/dL), suggesting its potential as an effective natural antistress agent during broodstock transport.

Abstract

Water quality is a key factor that influences the success of Jatimbulan tilapia (Oreochromis sp) hatchery. Water quality parameters such as temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen must be maintained in optimal conditions to support the growth, reproduction and survival of seeds. Jatimbulan tilapia (Oreochromis sp) is one of the superior strains of tilapia which has the advantage of growing faster than other strains. The sustainability of the cultivation business, especially at the tilapia rearing stage, is very dependent on a stable seed supply and good water quality management, because water quality has a direct influence on the results of fish cultivation. This research aims to estimate the carrying capacity and production potential of Jatimbulan tilapia in the context of developing fisheries using traditional methods, by evaluating water quality aspects, namely physical and chemical factors. Sampling was carried out directly (in situ) in the spawning pond, with parameters measured including temperature, brightness, pH and dissolved oxygen (DO). Spawning is carried out to preserve the jatimbulan fish (Oreochromis sp) as well as produce superior seeds. Seed rearing shows a survival rate of up to 100%, a daily specific growth rate of 1.84 ± 0.06%/day. This shows that the quality of the waters at the Kepanjen Aquaculture Installation plays an important role in supporting successful spawning and producing superior quality aquaculture products.
