Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) model assisted by learning videos on environmental awareness and student learning outcomes in biodiversity material in Kalimantan class VII SMPN 22 Samarinda. This study was designed to evaluate how independent factors (X) affect dependent factors (Y). This study used a pretest-posttest control group research design and quantitative quasi-experimental methodology. In environmental awareness attitudes, a t-test was obtained with a significance value of 0.003 <0.005 and the N-gain test results were 0.66 in the moderate category. In learning outcomes, a t-test was obtained with a significance value of 0.001 <0.05 and the N-Gain test results were 0.68 in the moderate category. Thus, it is known that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected or the use of the CTL model assisted by learning videos has a significant effect on environmental awareness and learning outcomes in biodiversity material in Kalimantan class VII SMPN 22 Samarinda.

Abstract

This research was a continuation of the research and community service activities (PKM) of the author and the service to society team in January - May 2023 at the same location, namely the Darma Jati I Klungkung Bali Orphanage. This research discusses how orphanage children know about volcanoes and their mitigation. The research results obtained from the questionnaire show that they still lack knowledge about volcanoes and their mitigation). For the reasons mentioned above, the author and the PKM team carried out outreach activities using brochures containing volcanoes and their mitigation to provide basic knowledge of volcanoes). The results of PKM activities show that the children at the orphanage understand enough about the dangers of volcanoes and their anticipation. In this follow-up research, researchers are trying to create educational comics about volcanoes and mitigation to make them more interesting and easy to understand. This comic comes from a brochure that was made previously. The comic was given to the children living in the orphanage with the aim that the children could take steps to take before, during, and after a volcanic eruption. The results of the final research questionnaire showed an increase in knowledge from before.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to explore the effectiveness of implementing competition during a learning process to elevate motivation and science communication skills in a particular biotechnology education course among the third-year science education students at Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa using the BioVate competition, in which incorporates project-based learning (PjBL) within competitions during learning process. It is a unique model for competitive learning. A quasi-experimental model was employed on a sample comprising 67 undergraduate students. Students had no prior biotechnology training and the intervention lasted four weeks. It comprised problem identification and solving, solution development, as well as a culmination competition. In the assessment, significant changes with respect to motivation (mean 2.7 to 4.1, d 0.54) and comprehension (mean 8.7 to 18 out of 20, d 0.92) were noted in pretest-posttest analysis. In the observation, interview and document analysis, participants noted improvement with respect to good communication, articulation of complex ideas, increased self-confidence, and effective use of visual aids. The major premise of the BioVate model, the ability to tackle real problems (for example, the use of CRISPR technology for developing pest-resistant crops), was reported to have fostered intrinsic motivation and closed the theoretical-practical gap. These findings also support constructivist learning theory and self-determination theory by highlighting the impact of competition and collaboration on engagement. This new approach contributes to increasing comprehensive conceptual understanding in biotechnology and builds skills in future educators and science communicators to address societal issues with an interdisciplinary approach.

Abstract

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a cultivated plant that belongs to the Fabaceae family. One of the diseases that commonly attack peanuts is fungus. Fungi are one of the microbial organisms that are found in the soil and the attack carried out by fungi is through plant roots. Infections in peanuts are generally caused by fungi including Alternaria sp, Aspergillus sp, Deshlera sp, Fusarium sp, Mucor sp, Penicillium sp, Rhizoctonia sp, Stemphylium sp, Trichothecium sp. and Verticillium sp.  Isolation of pathogenic fungi in peanut seeds was carried out using the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA 1996) standard seed health testing method consisting of washing and blotter test methods. This research conducted on the identification of fungi, the results obtained were Rhizoctonia sp. Aspergillus sp. and Fusarium sp. Based on the research that has been done, the three types of fungi obtained are not included in the Quarantine Plant Disturbing Organisms, but are classified as Ordinary Plant Disturbing Organisms and the use of the Washing test and Blotter test method can be one way to identify the type of fungus in peanuts.

Abstract

Technology plays a very important role in learning activities in the digital era. In practice, learning activities in the INSTIKI class have not utilized technology optimally, especially the use of digital platforms to support mathematics learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of e-learning-based learning assisted by Geogebra on computer mathematics learning outcomes by controlling spatial ability. This study included a quasi-experimental design with a single factor independent groups design with the use of covariate. The sample was selected by purposive sampling of 61 people who were divided into two groups. The data collection method used a spatial ability test instrument to measure students' spatial abilities, as well as a learning outcome test instrument to measure computer mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis methods consisted of descriptive statistics, analysis prerequisite tests, and hypothesis tests. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference in the average score of computer mathematics learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group after spatial ability was controlled. From the results of the covariance test, the contribution of spatial ability to computer mathematics learning outcomes was 64.7%. Based on the research results, suggestions can be made including increasing the scope of teaching materials, involving a larger population, and adding control variables in similar research.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the flipped classroom learning model assisted by instructional videos on the critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Samarinda. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consists of 21 students, with the experimental group using the flipped classroom model and the control group using the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model. The results show that in the experimental group, the average pretest and posttest scores for critical thinking increased from 28.29 to 76.67 (N-gain 0.67), and learning outcomes improved from 24.76 to 77.10 (N-gain 0.69). In contrast, in the control group, critical thinking scores increased from 20.29 to 64.29 (N-gain 0.54), and learning outcomes improved from 16.48 to 62 (N-gain 0.54). The t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, with t-value > t-table for both critical thinking and learning outcomes. In conclusion, the flipped classroom model assisted by instructional videos has a significant impact on enhancing students' critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes.

Abstract

RIPIN (National Industrial Development Master Plan) 2015-2035 has placed the Pharmaceutical Industry as one of the priority industries to be developed. Meanwhile, the results of the ASEAN Summit in September 2023 held in Jakarta stated that Indonesia had the lowest score for indicators of drug availability and costs, which was 54.02. The existence of BPJS Kesehatan in 2014 greatly reduced the role and function of the Navy Pharmaceutical Institution as the pharmaceutical industry owned by the TNI AL. Currently, Lafial only produces pharmaceutical preparations for health support whose need is very limited because the state budget received is also reduced. In order to support and increase the availability of medicines in Indonesia, the role and function of Lafial should be utilized. The purpose of this study was to design the right business strategy for Lafial to meet the needs of national medicines while reducing dependence on the state budget through SWOT analysis and QSPM matrix. This was qualitative research using a descriptive analysis approach to further explore the internal and external parameters factors of Lafial. The data collection technique used was triangulation from in-depth interviews and FGDs on key personnel pharmacists as well as questionnaires through Google Forms for all pharmacists outside key personnel and secondary data collection. The results of the study on the strength component score was 2.022; the weakness component was 1.540; the opportunity component was 2.020 and the threat component was 1.673. With these results, Lafial's position is in cell number I of the IE matrix and quadrant I of the SWOT quadrant. The strategy analysis using QSPM provides that the strategy of sharpening market penetration through coordination with the Officials and Heads of the Navy health facilities to use Lafial's finished products has the highest TAS value with a value of 5,611. Then the strategy of developing the market through coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance to be able to produce and deposit PNBP has a TAS value of 5.204. The last strategy is a strategy to increase operational efficiency through coordination with the state-owned and private pharmaceutical industry through drug toll manufacturing activities with a TAS value of 4.332.

Abstract

This study discussed the development of Integrated Science teaching materials in the form of an Interactive Video Based on Papua's Local Ethnoscience. The local wisdom of Papua explained in the video includes sago trees, red fruit, matoa trees, and areca nut trees. This research used research and development (R&D) methods with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this study include one subject matter expert teacher, one media expert lecturer, and seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 26 in Sorong Regency. The instruments used to assess the feasibility of the interactive video based on Papua's local ethnoscience include a feasibility sheet by subject matter and media experts, a questionnaire to gauge students' responses to the use of the interactive video, and pretest and posttest trials to evaluate the effectiveness of the interactive video based on Papua's local ethnoscience. The data analysis results showed a score of 97.92% from the subject matter expert and 86.98% from the media expert, both of which fall into the very feasible category. The effectiveness of the Interactive Video Based on Papua's Local Ethnoscience was measured by student learning outcomes, which were categorized as high, with an n-gain score of ≥ 0.7. The students' responses indicated that 15 students 87% gave positive feedback on the use of the Interactive Video Based on Papua's Local Ethnoscience.

Abstract

This study aims to design a strategy for the company to face competition in the pharmaceutical distribution business in nuclear medicine facilities. As a company that acts as an importer, PT Gamma Mitra Lestari faces the challenge of intense competition with several competitors who have direct distribution power. This research uses a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview method with the company's key person to identify internal and external factors that affect business strategy. External factor analysis was conducted using the PESTEL model and Porter's Five Forces, while internal analysis used the VRIO framework to assess the company's resources and capabilities. The results revealed that PT Gamma Mitra Lestari has advantages in terms of relationships with suppliers and product quality, but is still limited in terms of efficient distribution channels. Based on these findings, the suggested strategies include improving market education to expand technology adoption and raise awareness related to nuclear medicine in new hospitals, supplier diversification to reduce the risk of dependence on a single supplier, and collaboration with BRIN and leading hospitals to develop products and meet local market needs with high TKDN. This research provides implications for other nuclear medicine industry players in designing adaptive and sustainable business strategies.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X yang berada dibawah rata-rata dan motivasi belajar yang menurun sehingga diperlukan inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran yaitu penggunaan e-LKPD untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperiment dan menggunakan desain penelitian Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampling purposive dengan menggunakan kelas X-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Independent Sampel t Test dengan taraf signifikasi 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data didapatkan bahwa uji t pada pengaruh penggunaan e-LKPD berbasis Techological Knowledge pada materi komponen ekosistem dan interaksinya terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa adalah (0,000 < 0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan e-LKPD berbasis Technological Knowlegde pada materi komponen ekosistem dan interaksinya terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda.
