Abstract

The problem in this research was related to the culture values existed in Marah Rusli’s Memang Jodoh. The result of this research shows that the culture value found in Marah Rusli’s Memang Jodoh are: about tradition, marriage and matchmaking, polygamy, and relationship in Minangkabau culture. With the setting of living custom and tradition in the past Minangkabau society, this novel can be the valuable source when we want to understand how the the Minangkabau tradition and culture influence the living society in the past time and, until now, it can be experienced eventhough it has been scraped by the age. The most interesting culture value in this novel is about the tradition of marriage and polygamy. Minangkabau society, at that time, had a rule that the marriage must be done with the internal Minangkabau society only (internal), it was forbiden to have marriage with someone came from out of Minang ethnic.

Abstract

The problem of this research is many students get difficulties in writing especially in writing descriptive text. In this research the writer tried to investigate” Brainstorming” in teaching writing. The objectives of the research was to know and describe whether the average score of students’ ability in writing descriptive text which is taught through brainstorming is higher than which is taught through lecturing, to know and describe the influence of Brainstorming towards students’ ability in writing descriptive text. The research was conducted at the seventh class students of SMPN 2 Bukit Kemuning Lampung Utara in 2014/2015. In this research the writer used experimental method. The population of this research are 96 students. The writer took two classes as sample. The first class was VIIa as experiment class that consist of 32 students while VIIb as control class that consist of 32 students. The sample in this research was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. In data collecting technique, it was used written  test, it is include instruction that students should make a composition which consist at least 100 words based on the topics chosen, the topics are: My beloved mother, my best friend, my hometown. In data analysis, the writer used ttest formula. It was found that tratio > ttab. = 4.03 and ttable 2.00 So, the hypothesis null(Ho) is rejected and Hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted. It means that there is positive and significant influence of using Brainstorming towards students’ ability in writing descriptive text. Therefore to improve the students’ writing ability, the writer suggest that the teacher can use Brainstorming as an alternative technique in teaching writing and give more exercises in writing.

Abstract

The spread of corona virus in 2020 has an impact on various sectors in Indonesia including the world of education so that the learning system is changed to online based. Essay writing class in one of the courses that must be carried out online using an autonomous learning approach. Therefore, the purposes of this study were to know the students’ perception and the impact of the implementation of online autonomous learning in essay writing class. This research was conducted in quantitative and qualitative method. The participants in this study consisted of 36 second semester students of English education study program IKIP-PGRI Pontianak who were selected purposively. The data was obtained from questionnaire which was then randomly selected for online interview. The data was also enrich by document in the form of students’ score. The result of the study showed that the implementation of online autonomous learning is not really significant in helping students to understand materials, organize ideas or topics, helping them to be independent learner, and improving vocabulary on essay writing class. Besides, most of the students preferred face-to-face class where the teachers could guide them directly. Some students also find it difficult to find stable network. Then, the lack of detailed explanations and many assignments from the teacher make students reluctant to join the class.

Abstract

In the implementation of online learning there are often several obstacles, it can affect student motivation in following the learning process. This study aims to explain the conditions of student motivation in participating in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study was conducted at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang involving 20 seventh semester student in Industrial Engineering study program. Data collection techniques in this study used survey techniques with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used in this study was to calculating the percentage of each indicator data, then the data obtained from the percentage results are then analyzed in depth with the method of analysis. The results of this study indicate that the learning motivation of the 7th semester students of the Industrial Engineering study program at the Singaperbangsa Karawang University is classified as good, it is obtained from the acquisition of a motivation percentage score of 70%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the competence of implementing learning through supervision with continuous guidance techniques for teachers of SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi Academic Year 2019/2020. This school action research was designed in two cycles, from the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were teachers of SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi, North Lampung, with 6 teachers in each subject. The results of implementing academic supervision with continuous guidance techniques can improve teacher competence in implementing learning at SMK Negeri 3 Kotabumi Academic Year 2019/2020.

Abstract

This study was aimed to know and to describe the intrinsic elements of theme, plot, figure/character, setting, point of view, stylistic and message. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. The data was taken from a novel entitled “Bunda, Aku Kembali” written by Mohammad Zaenudin, published by Republika, Jakarta 2008, consisted of 296 pages, consisted of 9 parts. The data analysis done in this study was analyzing the parts of novel in the form of sentences or paragraphs shown in the characteristic of the figures. The result of this study shows that the content of Mohammad Zaenudin’s Bunda, Aku Kembali has some morality values. It can be seen from some utterances shown by the acts of the figures. Therefore, based on the result of this study, this novel can be used as a reference in acts in our daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Rotating Trio Exchange model on learning achievements of Mathematics subject of the eighth grade students of SMPN 17 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2014/2015 with the issues examined in the form of low Mathematics score of eighth grade students. This study used an experimental method which was conducting direct application usage models Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) in the experimental class and conventional model in the control class. The population in this study is the second semester of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2014/2015 with a sample of 2 classes taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The data was measured using essay test consisted 10 questions. The research instruments used by the writer must meet the criteria of a good instrument so the authors examined the instrument that researchers prepared in 32 respondents out of sample group. Based on the the result of the research, it is obtained that the results of tcount= 2.64 at distribution level 5% ttable= 2.02. It is proven that tcount> ttable so it can be concluded that there is the influence of the Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) model towards the Mathematics learning achievements at the second semester of eighth grade students of SMPN 17 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

The existence of new technology has changed various aspects of life. The life of a traditional society has changed into a modern society. Learning in the era of the industrial revolution is required to be able to adapt to a variety of existing technologies and applications. With the technology and various applications can facilitate learning activities. Various learning activities carried out online that use technology. Digital learning is increasingly developing along with technological developments. Learning with modern technology that provides a variety of learning applications with various learning methods. Digital learning can be developed for distance learning. Digital learning can also be integrated with classroom learning (blended learning). This research uses descriptive qualitative method. In collecting data using in-depth interview techniques, documentation and observation. Data analysis uses Interactive Model Analysis analysis techniques. The role of technology in digital learning is very important, where technology is a major part of digital learning. Technology is not just included in the learning process, but technology must be able to improve the quality of learning. In digital learning educators and students can adjust learning needs with a variety of technological sophistication in a variety of existing learning applications, so that the learning process is fun and facilitates understanding of the material. The learning process by utilizing technology must be supported by educators and students so that learning using technology can run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) Is there a relationship between leg muscle strength against dribbling skills on the futsal junior high school student extracurricular Daar El Salam. (2) Is there a relationship between the running speed of the dribbling skills on the futsal junior high school students extracurricular Daar El Salam. (3) Is there a relationship between confidence in dribbling skills on the futsal junior high school students extracurricular Daar El Salam. (4) Is there a relationship between leg muscle strength, running speed, and confidence together - equal to the dribbling skills on the futsal junior high school students extracurricular Daar El Salam. Researchers using multiple correlations that examine the relationship with regression analysis techniques. These results indicate that there is a leg muscle strength correlation coefficient of 0.825 with a degree of relationship is very strong, there is a running speed correlation coefficient of 0.847 with a degree of relationship is very strong, and confident there is a correlation coefficient of 0.67 with a strong relationship level. Based on the test results and significance of linear simple regression equation between leg muscle strength, running speed, and confidence in dribbling skills of 0.939 with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.882 yaiu great effect amounted to 88.2%, while 11.8% is affected by the other factors that are not within the study variables. As well as the significance test for multiple correlation Fhitung 52.32 where the value is greater than the F table.

Abstract

Having word knowledge is important in reading comprehension to help students understand English text. Repeated Reading (RR) strategy is believed that it can enrich students’ vocabulary and reading comprehension achievement. This study aimed at investigating the effects of RR strategy on vocabulary and reading comprehension achievement. Forty eight of eighth graders of MTs Negeri baturaja were chosen as the sample. Each group consists of twenty four students. Vocabulary and reading comprehension tests were administered to the students before and after the interventions. The results showed that there was significant difference in vocabulary and reading comprehension achievements (ρ<0.000) after the interventions.
