Abstract

The domain of speaking assessment has been rigorously examined within applied linguistics. Nevertheless, many contemporary investigations predominantly emphasize elements such as delivery methodologies, linguistic standards, and the validation processes of assessment instruments, frequently overlooking the incorporation of ethical and religious considerations. This research investigates the views and practices of English teachers regarding speaking assessment in Islamic high schools in East Java, aiming to develop a framework that is more attuned to cultural needs. Using a qualitative descriptive methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, document analysis, and stimulated recall interviews with four intentionally selected teachers. The findings reveal that educators perceive the evaluation of speaking as serving a bifunctional purpose: gauging linguistic competence (encompassing aspects such as pronunciation, fluency, and grammatical accuracy) and promoting the development of students’ moral and religious principles, including attributes like politeness, respectfulness, and integrity. Prevailing methodologies predominantly emphasize performance-oriented tasks, the implementation of analytic assessment rubrics, and the provision of corrective feedback; however, they infrequently integrate ethical standards cohesively and systematically. In light of these outcomes, the study puts forward the Religious-Values Infused Speaking Assessment (RV-ISA), which aligns CEFR descriptors with Islamic ethical principles (e.g., ṣidq, ḥilm, ḥusn al-khuluq). Conceptually, this broadens the understanding of speaking assessment to encompass value-oriented factors. This model offers teachers a clear and context-sensitive rubric, enhancing communicative competence and character education within Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

In order to preserve justice and the truth, student organizations and movements support students in expressing their goals. Along with developing their interests, skills, and innovations, students can also become more perceptive and logical. The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether student groups at the Islamic College "Ma'had Aly Al-Hikam" in Malang have an impact on the development of leadership qualities. Quantitative research methodologies are used in this work. Researchers utilize questionnaires to gather data. Validity testing, reliability tests, traditional assumption tests, and hypothesis tests utilizing basic linear regression tests are all used by researchers during the data analysis and processing process. It is possible to draw the conclusion that student organizations significantly impact the development of leadership character based on the data analysis results. This can be demonstrated by comparing the significance value with a probability value of 0.05, which is the outcome of the simple linear regression analysis test. A significance value of 0.001 <0.05 was determined using the Coefficients table's significance value. According to this study, student organizations have a 76.4% impact on how leadership character is formed; other factors account for the remaining 23.6%. Furthermore, it is believed that the independent variable has a significant impact on the dependent variable, as indicated by the R-Square determination coefficient (R2) of 0.764. This suggests that H1 is accepted and the hypothesis Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be said that the variable of leadership character building (Y) is influenced by the student organization variable (X).

Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of Virtual School Tours (VSTs) in helping schools expand their information reach, present their facilities more persuasively, increase data transparency, and strengthen relationships with prospective students. The study employed a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through in-depth conversations with school officials, direct observation of various digital platforms used for publication, and document searches related to the dissemination of school information. The research findings indicate that VSTs enable the public to gain an overview of the school without having to physically attend, thus making access to information easier and more inclusive. The presentation of facilities through videos and digital tours provides a more vivid picture of the school's strengths. Information transparency increased because the data displayed on official channels was more organized and easily accessible. Furthermore, interaction with prospective students increased along with the increase in responses.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation and success of the WAFA method in the Tahfidzul Qur'an program at Mohammad Hatta Islamic Elementary School, Malang. The WAFA method is an innovation in Qur'anic learning based on right-brain optimization, utilizing the TANDUR strategy and a multisensory approach. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies during the period of October–December 2021. The results showed that the implementation of the WAFA method was effective, carried out through five structured stages (5P) with an emphasis on the Hijaz rhythm and meaningful movements. Approximately 78.3% of fifth and sixth-grade students successfully memorized the entire juz 30, indicating a significant improvement compared to the previous method. This success is influenced by factors such as teacher creativity, a conducive learning environment, and systemic school support. The findings provide a theoretical contribution to the development of neuroscience-based Qur'anic learning methods and practical implications for managers of Islamic educational institutions. It is recommended that teacher training modules be developed and technology integrated into the implementation of the WAFA method.

Abstract

The role of public relations in implementing the PPEPP cycle from the planning stage to the improvement stage to meet the National Education Standards analyzes the strategic role played by madrasah public relations. The type of research uses a qualitative approach, a case study type with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were the madrasah principal, Deputy Head of Public Relations, teachers and students. The results of the study show that at the planning stage the role of public relations is apparent through the process of identifying information and preparing communication patterns that are in line with the institution's quality policy. In the implementation stage, public relations plays a role in coordination between sectors so that information about the quality program is conveyed accurately. In the evaluation and control stage, public relations responses are collected and documentation related to public relations activities is recorded. In the improvement stage, public relations activities are evident through madrasah publications, documentation, and strengthening public trust in the madrasah. The PPEPP process involves public relations providing encouragement for quality management. These findings indicate that public relations plays a strategic role in ensuring educational quality so that efforts to meet the National Education Standards continue to develop and remain consistent.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy provides opportunities for students to gain direct learning experiences in professional settings through internship activities. The Islamic Education Management Study Program at UIN Palopo has implemented the MBKM internship program as an effort to enhance students’ academic, professional, and practical competencies. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the MBKM internship program using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. This research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while quantitative data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to MBKM internship participants. Qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while quantitative data were analyzed using percentage-based descriptive analysis. The results indicate that in the context aspect, the internship program holds strong relevance and urgency for competency development, supported by curriculum alignment and students’ need for workplace experience. In the input aspect, student readiness and supervisor support were generally good, although challenges remained such as unequal prior understanding regarding internship procedures. In the process aspect, the internship activities were carried out according to established guidelines, yet coordination among students, supervisors, and partner institutions was not always optimal. In the product aspect, quantitative data show significant improvements in students’ administrative, managerial, and practical work competencies. Overall, the study concludes that the MBKM internship program in the Islamic Education Management Study Program at UIN Palopo has been effectively implemented, although improvements are needed in partner selection and mentoring mechanisms. These findings provide recommendations for enhancing the quality of internship implementation in the future.

Abstract

This study examines the integrative curriculum management system that combines diniyah and formal education at the Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving members of the Majelis Ilmu (Science Council), educators, and students. The results show that curriculum planning is systematically implemented through a professional Majelis Ilmu (Science Council) consisting of 12 experts, using Focus Group Discussion mechanisms and needs analysis. The organization applies a dual-track structure with the Santri Affairs Division managing the diniyah curriculum and the Formal Division managing the general curriculum, coordinated through the Consultative Assembly. Implementation follows centralized command from the foundation with a phased approach from adapting national standards to pure pesantren products. Evaluation is carried out periodically through monthly reporting using the CIPP model with a single integrated report card format. Key challenges include teacher readiness, duplication of materials, and students' cognitive load, which are addressed through continuous coaching, differentiated material distribution, expert-based governance, and a balanced curriculum approach. The study contributes empirical documentation of deliberative curriculum development in the pesantren context, indigenous knowledge development, and a tri-dimensional holistic evaluation system that integrates religious and academic assessments

Abstract

Abstract Rendahnya minat baca Al-Qur’an di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar menjadi tantangan serius bagi lembaga pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen dan implementasi program literasi Al-Qur’an dalam meningkatkan minat baca siswa di SD Muhammadiyah Prambanan, Sleman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah dan guru, serta studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi program literasi Al-Qur’an dilakukan melalui empat tahapan manajemen: (1) Perencanaan yang matang dengan menetapkan target capaian harian; (2) Pengorganisasian melalui pembagian tugas wali kelas dan guru pendamping; (3) Pelaksanaan melalui kegiatan pembiasaan tadarus pagi dan metode klasikal; (4) Pengawasan melalui buku kendali mutaba’ah. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan minat baca siswa yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya frekuensi bacaan harian, antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti jam literasi, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran mandiri untuk membaca Al-Qur’an. Faktor pendukung utama adalah budaya sekolah yang religius dan dukungan sarana prasarana yang memadai. Kata Kunci: Manajemen Program, Literasi Al-Qur’an, Minat Baca, Sekolah Dasar. Implementation of Al-Qur'an Literacy Program in Increasing Students' Reading Interest in Elementary Schools The low interest in reading the Al-Qur'an among elementary school students is a serious challenge for Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to describe the management and implementation of the Al-Qur'an literacy program in increasing students' reading interest at SD Muhammadiyah Prambanan, Sleman. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with principals and teachers, and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the Al-Qur'an literacy program was carried out through four management stages: (1) Careful planning by setting daily achievement targets; (2) Organizing through the division of tasks for class teachers and assistant teachers; (3) Implementation through morning tadarus habituation activities and classical methods; (4) Supervision through the mutaba'ah control book. The research findings indicate an increase in students' reading interest characterized by an increase in the frequency of daily reading, student enthusiasm in attending literacy hours, and the growth of independent awareness to read the Al-Qur'an. The main supporting factors are the religious school culture and adequate infrastructure support. Keywords: Program Management, Al-Qur'an Literacy, Reading Interest, Elementary School.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen sarana dan prasarana pada pendidikan kejuruan di wilayah perdesaan, dengan fokus studi kasus di SMKS Yapis Santong, Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Kajian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan kritis dalam perencanaan, pemeliharaan, dan pengadaan alat praktik serta merumuskan solusi resiliensi yang relevan dengan konteks lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus lapangan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah dan pengelola sarana, observasi langsung terhadap kondisi bengkel, serta dokumentasi inventaris aset. Analisis data mengikuti model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian pada tahun 2026 mengungkapkan bahwa tantangan utama meliputi 2 rasio alat praktik terhadap siswa yang kritis (1:8), yang memicu percepatan degradasi fisik alat. Selain itu, terjadi "distorsi pemeliharaan" di mana dana operasional sekolah secara dominan terserap untuk belanja pegawai honorer, sehingga menyisakan alokasi yang sangat minim untuk perawatan preventif. Untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut, sekolah mengimplementasikan model "Manajemen Resiliensi" melalui inovasi "GuruTeknisi" dan kemitraan "Laboratorium Komunitas" dengan bengkel lokal. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa keberlanjutan pendidikan kejuruan di wilayah rural sangat bergantung pada fleksibilitas manajerial dan konsolidasi modal sosial untuk menyubstitusi keterbatasan fiskal. Temuan ini menyoroti perlunya kebijakan distribusi alat yang berkeadilan untuk menjembatani celah kompetensi antara lulusan vokasiperdesaan dan perkotaan.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the role of TGKH. Zainuddin Abdul Madjid’s spiritual leadership in the implementation of the curriculum at Ma’had Darul Qur’an Wal Hadits Nahdlatul Wathan. The research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, display, and verification techniques. The findings reveal that spiritual leadership functions as both an ideological and operational foundation in educational management. The values of tawhid, sincerity, role modeling, and educational struggle are integrated into the curriculum structure and academic culture of the pesantren. Implementation is carried out through role modeling, habituation of collective worship, and academic-spiritual integration. The impact is reflected in students’ intellectual competence, consistency in worship, and strong moral character. This study confirms that successful curriculum implementation in Islamic boarding schools is strongly influenced by spiritual leadership capable of transforming values into a sustainable educational system.
