Abstract

The college environment is often characterized by the dominance of the role of students who must undergo various academic burdens. Continuous demands in lectures and the presence of piling assignments have a negative impact on subjective well-being in students. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the extent to which perceptions of support in the social environment and academic pressure can affect subjective well-being in students. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach. A total of 101 students of the Faculty of Law, Mulawarman University were used as research subjects who had been selected through a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in data collection consisted of a subjective well-being scale, a social support perception scale, and an academic stress scale. The analysis was carried out by applying the multiple linear regression method. Based on the test results, it was indicated that the variables of social support and academic stress together had a significant effect on subjective well-being, with an F value of 37.194, an R² value of 0.432, and a p value of 0.000. This means that the influence of social support and academic stress on subjective well-being in students can be accepted statistically.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country where there is a lot of diversity in it ranging from the diversity of cultures, religions, languages, races, to ethnicities. There are more than a thousand tribes in Indonesia, one of which is the Batak tribe. The Batak tribe has many traditions in it, ranging from wedding customs, burials, to communication or what can be called partuturan. Partuturan is a kinship system in the Batak tribe where partuturan expresses kinship relationships between individuals in Batak culture. Until now, partuturan is still used by the Batak people both in North Sumatra and by the Batak people who migrated and are outside North Sumatra where the city is the city of Balikpapan. However, even so, the Batak community in the city of Balikpapan still applies partuturan in daily life when talking to fellow Batak tribes, so that the author is interested in researching the existence of partuturan in the Batak community in the city of Balikpapan. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the existence of partuturan culture in the Batak community in the city of Balikpapan This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative research method in which the author interviewed two Batak communities in the city of Balikpapan, both traditional elders and the Batak community who are considered to still understand the partuturan culture. Abstract

Despite ongoing digital transformation efforts, Indonesia still lags behind in global innovation rankings, raising questions about the organizational and psychological factors influencing individual innovation in the IT sector. This study examines the role of Ambidextrous Organizational Culture (AOC) and Psychological Safety (PS) in shaping Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) among IT employees in Indonesia. Grounded in the Interactionist Perspective on Creativity, the study uses a quantitative approach with an online survey of 144 IT professionals. Validated instruments were used to measure AOC, PS, and IWB, with data analyzed using linear regression and Hayes' PROCESS Model 4. The findings show that AOC significantly predicts IWB both directly (β = 0.3973, p < 0.01) and indirectly through PS (indirect β = 0.2239), indicating a significant partial mediation effect. These results highlight the importance of cultivating a dual-focused organizational culture and psychologically safe environments to stimulate employee innovation. Practically, organizations should integrate cultural and psychological enablers into their HR and innovation strategies to strengthen innovative work behavior in Indonesia’s IT sector.

Abstract

Changes in national curriculum policies require substantial adjustments to the quality and relevance of textbooks as the main means of learning. This study aims to analyze comparatively the textbook of Moral Faith class VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah which is used in the 2013 Curriculum (K13) and the Independent Curriculum (IKM). The research was conducted with a qualitative approach through a literature study of two textbooks, using a multicomponent approach that includes five main aspects: content, language, presentation, thematic concepts, and evaluation. The results of the study show that K13 books are conceptual and memorization-oriented with a linear approach, while IKM books are more contextual, communicative, and support active learning through the integration of character values and digital features such as QR codes. IKM books also show excellence in presenting materials that are relevant to students' lives and supporting the development of 21st century skills. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the Independent Curriculum book is more responsive to the needs of modern students and more effective in supporting the internalization of the values of faith and morals. These findings contribute to the development of religious textbooks as evaluation and reference materials in designing learning materials that are integrative, applicative, and in line with the spirit of the latest curriculum-based character education.

Abstract

Due to the historical journey during the sacred journey of Dang Hyang Nirarta and the expansion of the Karangasem kingdom, Bali, Lombok Island has many temples with Balinese architectural styles. This has resulted in many Hindus from Bali currently making religious trips to Lombok, so a study is needed that aims to understand the characteristics of Hindu religious tourism travelers from Bali to Lombok. This research method is qualitative research, where primary data is obtained through interview methods which are then analyzed comparatively. Of the 100 respondents, there were 55% female tourists, this figure shows a gender comparison that is close to equal. Regarding the question about the detailed purpose of religious travel, the most respondents answered was to perform yadnya (offerings), while the least detailed purpose of the trip was to perform spiritual healing or usadha (6%). A unique finding from this study is that the age group over 60 years is the second largest group as religious tourism travelers. This group is dominated by private motorcycle users with the dominant number of trip repetitions being more than two times. There is only 1 respondent from this age group who travels for the purpose of usadha, so it can be concluded that at retirement age which is also the age to carry out the vanaprasta stage of life, the health condition of religious tourism travelers is very good. Meanwhile, in the age group under 17 years old, which is the brahmacari age group, there are only 3% of religious tourism travelers who all come to participate in the piodalan, so it is highly recommended to provide education on the role of tirta yatra for the formation of the character of the young generation of Hindus in the future.

Abstract

This research analyzed the implementation of training need analysis (TNA) for employee development at Permata Bank's Collection & Recovery Unit in East Jakarta. The issue stemmed from a mismatch between training programs and employee needs, leading to suboptimal unit performance. The study aimed to describe training needs, TNA application, and influencing factors. Employing a descriptive qualitative case study method, data was gathered via interviews, observations, and documentation, validated through triangulation. Findings revealed TNA implementation was suboptimal due to L&D implementers' limited competence and insufficient employee involvement, resulting in irrelevant and ineffective training. Inhibiting factors included minimal management support, time constraints, and resistance to change, despite adequate training facilities. Recommendations included specialized TNA training for L&D, standardized TNA guidelines, benchmarking, and regular evaluation for continuous improvement.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the aim to comprehend the governance of Tutors as educators within the context of Distance Education, particularly at Universitas Terbuka, in light of the emergence of new forms of labor in the platform-based economy. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the performance and well-being of Tutors engaged in platform-mediated learning, and to examine whether their employment status reflects the characteristics typically associated with new forms of labor. Employing a qualitative descriptive method and a case study approach, data were collected through surveys, interviews, and document analysis focusing on Tutors of the Government Science Study Program. The findings indicate that Tutors perform their contractual duties with varying levels of dedication, receive their entitlements, and exhibit diverse professional backgrounds. The majority perceive the partnership system to be reasonably fair, enjoy a degree of work flexibility, and benefit from adequate technological support and training. Nonetheless, several challenges persist, particularly regarding the quality of instruction, recognition and reward systems, mechanisms for performance monitoring, and anxieties over the potential displacement of Tutors by artificial intelligence or other forms of automated reasoning. The study concludes that Tutors in Distance Education cannot yet be fully classified as new forms of labor, given their relatively stable work control and equitable partnership arrangements. However, signs of precarization remain evident, especially in relation to professional recognition and labor protection. Therefore, there is a pressing need for stronger regulatory frameworks and institutional strategies to safeguard the sustainability of the Tutor’s role within the Distance Education ecosystem.
