Abstract

This research analyzes effective managerial strategies in developing Islamic boarding school curricula to prevent radicalism. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach focusing on two Islamic boarding schools in Banten Province: Al-Mizan Cikole and Daar Falah Mandalawangi. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and document analysis with stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the curriculum implemented is integrative, comprehensive, and independent, fostering positive interactions between students, teachers (ustadz), and religious leaders (kyai) in the Islamic boarding school community. Kyai and their administrators serve as role models, and mosques act as centers of activity where no radical ideology is taught or spread. Curriculum planning and content reflect collective efforts to prevent radicalism, providing significant benefits to the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools. The management program for curriculum development to prevent internal and external radicalism has been implemented and carried out systematically from primary education to higher education. It is recommended that the integrative and comprehensive curriculum approach be maintained and continuously improved. Regular training and workshops for teachers and kyai should improve their anti-radicalism education skills. Collaboration with experts and external institutions must be fostered to enrich the curriculum with diverse perspectives. A continuous monitoring and evaluation mechanism must be established to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum in preventing radicalism and make necessary adjustments.

Abstract

This study investigates the connection between character education and the readiness for employment in the context of chemistry education students. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach and a correlational method to examine this relationship. Sixty-nine chemistry education students were randomly selected from a population of 220 students through random sampling to participate in this research. The data collected were subjected to analysis using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation method. The analysis results unveiled a statistically significant positive correlation between character education and work readiness among chemistry education students (r = 0.532, p = 0.000 < 0.01). This outcome suggests that character education is associated with an improved state of preparedness for work among students. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of incorporating character education into the chemistry education curriculum. Doing so is vital for equipping students with the holistic self-preparation necessary to succeed in a competitive job market and face the challenges of the professional world more effectively.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess the viability and effectiveness of religious culture programs in elucidating the religious inclinations of students in private schools. The study adopts a 4-D model: definition, design, development, and implementation. The study's population comprised all ninth-grade students, with one class (IX-1) as the control group and another class (IX-2) as the experimental group, totaling 30 participants. Student responses were analyzed in small groups of 10 students and a limited field group of 30. The research outcomes indicate: First, the religious culture program's feasibility was confirmed through validation by three experts. The program's feasibility was assessed based on three components: content, language, and design. The validation results from the three experts revealed the following average scores: 81.82 for the content component, 77.88 for the language component, and 69.79 for the presentation component. These scores fall within the excellent category, signifying that the religious and cultural programs can be employed with minor revisions. Second, the effectiveness of the religious culture program in enhancing students' religious attitudes was assessed by comparing the control class and the experimental class. The average score for the control class was 64.00, whereas the average score for the experimental class was 72.22. The data analysis results indicate that an effective religious culture program can positively impact the Islamic character development of ninth-grade students at Madani Middle School, particularly in Islamic religious education.
