This research aims to discuss the ideology of discourse that appears in the slogans of student demonstrations. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data in the form of slogan discourse was taken from social media X. The data analysis technique uses Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis approach, which focuses on three dimensions: the text dimension, discourse practice, and sociocultural. The results showed that in the text dimension, a form of clause representation was found in the form of using metaphors as an affirmation of meaning, such as dikremasi, tukang kayu, disandera, and mengebiri. Religious vocabulary that shows moral values, such as halal, Yesus, and azab. The representation in the combination of clauses illustrates the coherence shown by the form of elaboration marked by the conjunctions: yang and tanpa. The analysis of the discourse practice dimension shows that the author of the slogan, namely students, plays a role as a driver of anti-political dynasty ideology. In the sociocultural dimension, a situational level was found where the slogan discourse was influenced by the condition of the community that was disturbed by the issue of political dynasties ahead of the 2024 regional head elections.

This research aims to apply Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminism in revealing the forms of gender injustice and transcendence strategies on female characters in the Mendhung Angendanu novel by Budiono Santoso Setradjaja. The descriptive qualitative method, which uses data collection techniques through reading and recording, is an important part of this research. The data analyzed are words, sentences, or paragraphs that show gender injustice and transcendence strategies applied by female characters. Data sources consist of primary and secondary data. The primary data source is the novel Mendhung Angendanu by Budiono Santoso Setradjaja, which consists of 303 pages and was published in 2022 in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Secondary data sources come from articles and books relevant to the research problem. The findings show that in the novel, female characters experience gender injustice in the form of subordination, marginalization, violence, and workload. In addition, it was found that the transcendence strategies carried out by female characters include working women, intellectual women, women who contribute to social transformation, and women who refuse to internalize the values of injustice.

This study employed a quantitative approach with a post-test only control group experimental design to investigate the impact of the hypnoteaching model on Javanese language learning in high school. The research subjects were 288 students, with two classes, X-5 as the experimental class and X-7 as the control class, randomly selected. According to the study, students who received instruction using the hypnoteaching approach showed increased motivation and learning outcomes. Observation data indicated that the experimental class's post-test score was 71.67, significantly higher than the control class's score of 50.56. With a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, far below 0.05, the T-test revealed a significant difference between the two groups. Due to monotonous teaching strategies such as lectures, students in the traditional group were less motivated and more likely to become disengaged. Conversely, using hypnoteaching increased student motivation and made the class more enjoyable. This study shows that, compared to traditional teaching approaches, the hypnoteaching model is more effective in enhancing student motivation and learning outcomes.

Political contestation often produces linguistic phenomena that are interesting to study, such as the presence of metaphorical hashtags. This study examines conceptual metaphors in viral political hashtags during the 2024 General Election on social media, specifically #AnakHaramKonstitusi, #TolakPolitikDinasti, and #BauKetekOligarki. The objective of this research is to contribute to the understanding of conceptual metaphors in social media, particularly their function as a form of social critique on political issues. These three hashtags are the main data to be studied. Conceptual metaphors provide a way to understand abstract concepts through concrete experiences and create connections between the source and target domains. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with cross-domain theory-based analysis to map the metaphorical relationships in these hashtags. The results show that these political hashtags reflect public thoughts and emotions towards political dynamics, such as injustice, nepotism, and oligarchic domination. The image scheme underlying these hashtags is identity matching, which creates a meaning match between linguistic symbols and socio-political reality. Through metaphorical language, these hashtags become an effective tool in voicing social criticism and building public awareness about complex political issues.

This study explores the role of openness to Batak culture as the majority culture in the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap to maintain its cultural identity amid diversity. The openness referred to here is the recognition and acceptance of the existence of minority cultures, in line with the concept of multiculturalism, to minimize the potential for horizontal conflicts that could threaten the survival of cultures. The research method employs a sociology of literature approach, with Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap as the material object of the study. The data analysis technique uses interpretive analysis with the aid of film narrative structure theory from Himawan Pratista and the concept of multiculturalism proposed by Charles Taylor. As this research is qualitative and descriptive, the findings are narrative. The results of the study indicate that multiculturalism, as a bridge for interaction between minority and majority groups, plays a role in maintaining the existence of each cultural identity within a multicultural society, marked by the creation of a dynamic and harmonious social environment.

This study aims to describe the profile of viewing learning activities at the junior high school level and map the needs of teachers in teaching the skill. The methods used in this research are descriptive qualitative methods and literature review. Primary data in this study was obtained through a semi-open questionnaire from 42 Indonesian language teachers at the junior high school level. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from the analysis results in previous studies with the help of the Publish or Perish application. The result of this research is the profile of viewing skills learning conducted by teachers and on previous research. From the analysis, it was found that the viewing skills learning carried out was still very limited. The presence of these constraints highlights the necessity for creating educational resources, organized lesson plans, assessments that genuinely evaluate students’ viewing abilities and teacher training. The findings of this study can significantly contribute to the advancement of learning models or strategies, teaching modules, supplementary materials, educational websites, or the creation of evaluations focused on visual literacy-based viewing skills for students, ensuring alignment with field requirements.
