Abstract

When students are given assignments, sometimes some students do not respond. In fact, teachers have not provided creative learning innovations to students. As a result, the teacher's instructions do not do the task. The study aims to describe the use of Google Classroom applications to attract and train students' skills in writing literacy in Indonesian learning, particularly writing anecdotal texts. The method used in this study is qualitative as for obtaining the data by conducting in-depth interviews using a recording device, then collecting data through a questionnaire to get valid data from students. The subject of this study was a student of class X SMK Negeri Samarinda consisting of the high, medium, and low achievement. The results showed that students are happy to use classroom applications as a medium of learning anecdotal text because they can write creatively and want the application to remain used to share ideas. However, the use of classroom applications also requires a good internet network.

The focus of this research is an analysis of the forms of recognition of biodiversity that are displayed in the folklore of East Borneo. Biodiversity in question includes the diversity of genes, species, and ecosystems. The folk tales studied were stories that had been transcribed into a book entitled East Borneo Folklore (1981) published by Balai Pustaka. There are 20 titles of stories in it with the background of the life of the people of East Kalimantan and 3 stories were selected as research samples. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data was obtained by using reading and note-taking techniques. The approach chosen in this research is the study of children's literature and eco-sastra. The purpose of this study is to describe the diversity of genes, species and ecosystems typical of East Borneo in folklore so that they can be used as learning media for children to recognize, love, and protect the natural environment of East Borneo. The results of the study found the diversity of flora and fauna typical of East Borneo. There are not many forms of exploration of genetic diversity in the research sample. Data on species diversity was found in the research sample, namely various types of fish endemic to East Borneo: biawan fish, jelawat fish, haruan, porpoise fish. It also explained the myth of the formation of the dolphin fish and the Borneo rhinoceros. The river ecosystem dominates daily life which is clearly visible in all of the existing folklore. Abstract

One of the negative impacts of social media is the rise of language wars. Investigators involve linguists in handling language cases as evidence. In addition to considering lingual elements, linguists also need to pay attention to extralingual elements. One of the extralingual elements can be identified with SPEAKING Dell Hymes. Analysis of social media language needs to pay attention to the virtual extralingual context. This study aims to reveal the virtual extralingual context on social media. The results of this study are useful in the study of forensic linguistics. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. Research data in language use in social media and language reports as legal evidence. The data sources are social media and police reports which are collected with documentation, listening, and followed by note-taking techniques. Data analysis used the extralingual equivalent method. The results show that each social media has language use characteristics that are influenced by user segments and service features. These characteristics will continue to change following the development of social media features and services. The virtual context of one social media cannot be used to understand the context of another social media. The forensic linguistic analysis makes the results of the analysis scientifically and legally accountable. It is based on the consideration that every result of language analysis as legal evidence made by linguists impacts one's fate.

Abstract

The use of women's language with a Balinese cultural background with a patriarchal culture is interesting to analyze. The novel 'Tempurung' by Oka Rusmini tells the story of women with Balinese cultural backgrounds. There are sixteen female characters in this novel, while three are male characters. This study analyzes the features of women's language used by female characters, which are analyzed using the referential, pragmatic, and distribution methods. Based on the results of the analysis, female characters use eight out of ten features of the female language, namely intensifier (40.72%), empty adjectives (17.01%), tag questions (16.49%), super polite form (7.22%), rising intonation on declarative (6.70%), hypercorrect grammar (6.70%), emphatic stress (3.09%), and lexical hedges or fillers (2.06%). Avoid strong swear words, and female characters do not apply precise colour terms. Female characters' use of women's language features is motivated by a patriarchal culture that makes men superior while women are inferior. The caste system in Balinese culture also underlies the use of female language features by female characters, for example, using polite forms when speaking with interlocutors who have a higher caste.
