Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the addition of fermented E cottoni seaweed flour with the EM-4 fermenter in commercial tilapia feed. This research was conducted for 50 days at the Fish Production and Reproduction Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram, while for proximate analysis it was carried out at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Feed Sciences, University of Mataram. The research method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications with the addition of seaweed flour 0%/kg, 10%/kg, 20%/kg, and 30%/kg of commercial feed. Parameters measured were absolute length absolute weight, specific growth rate, feed utilization efficiency ratio (EPP), feed conversion ratio (FCR), survival rate, and water quality. Data were analyzed using the ANOVA test at the 5% level. Then proceed with Duncan's test level of 5%. The results showed that the addition of different concentrations of EM-4 fermented E. cottoni seaweed flour to commercial feeds could affect growth, EPP, and FCR, but did not affect the survival rate of tilapia. The addition of E. cottoni seaweed powder fermented by EM4 at a concentration of 20% could increase the absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate, EPP, and FCR of tilapia which were better than the control treatment, which were respectively 7.44 g, 3, 48 cm, 2.31%/day, 93% and 1.2.

Abstract

Java Koi Center is one of the largest local koi carp business in Cimahi City. This research aims to analyze the financial feasibility of Java Koi Center, Cimahi City, West Java. This research uses a quantitative descriptive analysis. The data collected in this study are aspects that exist in business feasibility and the main thing is the financial aspect. In the financial aspect, the data studied are business capital, investment costs, operational costs, Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C) and Break Even Point (BEP). To analyze financial feasibility, investment assessment criteria are used including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C) and Payback Period (PP). Based on data analysis, it was obtained that the R/C value was 1.90 and Break Even Point was obtained BEP Sales Mix for Kohaku koi totaling 23 heads with total sales of Rp28.716.952, Sanke koi was 21 heads at a price of Rp18.796.550, Hi-utsuri totalling 15 heads with a price of Rp13.157.584, Bekko koi fish was totalling 13 heads at a price of Rp7.518.620 and Sushui koi fish 17 heads at a price of Rp10.024.827. In the calculation of financial feasibility analysis, NPV value was obtained at Rp275,228,463, IRR value of 81%, Net B/C value of 3.07 and the Paypack Period for 1.17 years. So from the results of this research, Java Koi Center business is very feasible and profitable to run and develop in the future.

Abstract

Pangasius is a freshwater fish included in the main commodity by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia. Siamese catfish production ranked 4th in freshwater fish commodities in 2016 after goldfish, tilapia, and catfish. Pangasius has a lack of EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) if compared with fish from the sea. Application of additional different levels of soybean oil in commercial fish fed to enhance EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) in Perkasa pangasiid flesh. This study was conducted to determine the effect of adding soybean oil with different levels of commercial fish feed given to Perkasa striped catfish on growth performance, feed efficiency, EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid), and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). This experimental study used a Complete Randomized Design (CDR) with triplicates and five treatments with additional levels of soybean oil in commercial fish fed: (a) 0%, (b) 2%, (c) 4%, (d) 6%, and (e) 8%. The result showed that treatment of (e) is the best treatment for increasing the EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) in Pangasius flesh. However, additional different levels of soybean oil in the commercial fish feed have no negative effect on growth performance and feed efficiency in Perkasa pangasiid.

Abstract

Efforts to increase microbial populations in fish intestines tract can be done by utilizing microbes in the fish's digestive tract as probiotics. The application of Bacillus subtilis in fish feed mixtures can provide better growth performance in modifying microbes in the intestines of fish. The aim of this research was to analyze the bacterial community in the intestines of Common Carp(Cyprinus carpio) that have been given probiotics from the bacteria Bacillus subtilis with metagenome sequencing using 16S rRNA through Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology. Common carp samples were collected from maintenance conducted with different treatments, namely control fish without probiotic administration and fish treatment with mixed feed probiotic Bacillus subtilis. This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Fisheries Biotechnology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Padjajaran University. Then molecular identification was carried out using Illumina's NGS in Novogene, Singapore. The results of the identification of using probiotic bacteria Bacillus subtilis in Common carp(Cyprinus carpio) feed affect the bacterial community in the fish intestine. In the intestines of carp that were given probiotics, the highest abundance was Proteobacteria, Fusobacteriota, and firmicutes. The highest abundance at the genus level in both samples was domiciled by the genus Cetobacterium followed by the Sphingomonas and Aeromonas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the quality of crabs from the addition of crab mustard in the manufacture of shrimp crackers, increasing the usefulness of crab mustard which are generally discarded and can be used as processed cracker products. The use of crab mustard in this study as an additional ingredient in the manufacture of shrimp crackers. Quality parameters in the form of nutritional composition include: protein, fat, carbohydrate, water and ash, organoleptic test (texture, taste, smell and color) and Total Plate Count (TPC). Experimental method, analysis of data by F test on product quality with 5 treatment composition comparisons: flour, mustard and shrimp meat, namely: L (50%: 50%:0%); A (50% : 37.5% : 12.5%); B (50% : 25% : 25%); C (50% : 12.5% : 37.5%); U (50% : 0% : 50%), each treatment had 3 replications. The results of proximate analysis (protein, fat, carbohydrates, water and ash), organoleptic test showed a very significant difference (P<0.01) between treatments, but for TPC there was no significant difference (P>0.05). The best nutritional composition in treatment C. The best organoleptic test results in treatment C. The best TPC value in treatment A.

Abstract

Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is important for the processing industry because it contains carrageenan used as a stabilizer, thickener, material forming an emulsifier. This study aimed to find the best and optimal initial seed weight treatment for maximum biomass production, growth rate, and carrageenan content. The research location was in the waters of Aeng Batu-Batu Village, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi in August-September 2022. The randomized block design method (RAK) consisted of 4 treatments each with 4 repetitions. Seaweed seedlings from spores were weight of 20 g, 40 g, 60 g, and 80 g planted at 60 cm depth respectively and maintained for 45 days. Data analysis used (ANOVA) and W-Tuckey to determine the differences between treatments. The result of the analysis of variences showed that the weight of 40 g, 60 g, and 80 g had an effect on the biomass production, growth rate, and K. alvarezii carrageenan content. However, the highest yield was obtained at a weight of 20 g which had a very significant effect (p<0.01).
