Abstract

Eutrofication is an increase of nutrient supply (nitrogen and phosphor) to a very high concentration and above the limit that the nature can cope with. This recent research was aimed to predict the eutrofication  of the waters based on the distribution of nutrients and chlorophyll-a and conducted on November 2012. The research was carried out by considering two main parameters which were main research parameters and supporting parameter over physical, chemical and biological variables. The main research parameters consisted of total N and P, chlorophyll-a and dissolved oxygen of which those variables were the main variables used in the TRIX index analysis (an index used to characterized the trophic status of a body of waters). The fertility status of Kendari Bay based on TRIX index was categorized as eutrophic having TRIX index of 5.12. It is confirmed that the level of nutrient (TN and TP), chlorophyl-a and water clarity determines the fertility status of a water body ranging from oligotrophic to hypertrophic.

Abstract

Gastropods have important economic value because the shell can be used for a variety of decorations are expensive and the meat as a source of food. Gastropods also a key organism in the food chain in aquatic ecosystems. This research aims to determine the diversity and density of gastropods and environmental conditions that affect gastropods. The usefulness of the research is as information for the relevant agencies and parties that need as well as information for further research. The research was conducted in morindino village watersfrom August to October 2014. The placement transect squared/plots based on the state of the substrate is sandy and rocky beaches. The results found 20 species of gastropods which belong to 17 genera in 16 families. Density on the rocky shore organisms higher than the sandy beach that is 29.11 ind/m2 while the sandy beach that is 1.44 ind/m2. Rocky shore species diversity in higher at 1.8742 while the lower sandy beach which is 1.5858. However overall, the diversity of marine gastropods in Morindino village water was included in the medium category. Water velocity Parameter affects the density and diversity of gastropods.

Abstract

Green mussel (Perna viridis) is oyster has high potential to be developed. A huge market demand is an important factor to optimized green mussel cultivation, there are to system that could be applied for cultivation green mussel is polyculture and monoculture. The purposed of this study is to determined growth performance of green mussel which culture in monoculture and polyculture system. Green mussel is culture in floating cage bath of monoculture and polyculture system. In polyculture system green mussel placed within seabass (Lates calcarifer). Growth performance of green mussel determined by comparizing growth in wide and body lenght using T-test to analyzed factor that assigned to growth performance used principle component analysis (PCA) to environment factor such as Total Amonia Nitrogen (TAN), Total Organic Matters (TOM), Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and phytoplankton both in polycultured and monocultured system. The result of this research was shown that growth in this significant shown from third place where sample collected at 0-100 in depth The results showed that this significant growth was shown from the third place where the samples were collected at 0-100 in depth and the second place where the samples were collected at 100-150 in depth. This is caused by availability of feed source such as TOM and phytoplankton thy driven by sea current. The significant value shown by growth in wide of mussel shell at 100-150 cm in depth.

Abstract

Ocean Fishing Port Bungus Complex is an integrated area in ocean fishing port that bordered by the sea (Mentawai Strait), traversed by a small river and surrounding by paddy fields. There are several facilities in PPS Bungus Complex such as fishing port, waters surveillance, research, fishery processing industry, settlement and others. Various activities that exist certainly have an impact to the existing waters. The purpose of this research is to know the status of water quality based on water classification. The result of analysis based on Government Regulation No.82 Year 2001 which conducted on water classifiction at estuary and outlet shows that the condition of waters is including to the Class IV for agriculture and industry, while around wharf, waters including to the Class III, for fishery. The water index classifiction based on Living Environment Minister Decree No.115 Year 2003 shows that estuary, outlets and wharf are not polluted. Result of analysis to waters for Class IV showed index 0,780 at estuary and 0,712 at outlet, while at wharf showed index 0,794 or Class III. Some parameters such as turbidity, BOD and Cd in estuary and outlet slightly exceeded the quality standard but are still within tolerable limits (Living Environment Minister Decree No.51 Year 2004). Based on the Living Environment Minister Regulation No.3 Year 2010 on quality standard of waste water in industrial area, in this case the outlet, shows that parameter of COD, pH, TSS, Selenium and Copper are appropriate to quality standard.

Abstract

Perikanan rajungan di PerairanKabupaten Konawe, Sulawesi Tenggaradilingkupi permasalahan kurang efisiennyaalat tangkap yang digunakan (bubutunggal dan jaring insang dasar) yangberdampak pada tekanan terhadap populasirajungan. Penggunaan bubu rangkaidiharapkan dapat mengatasi permasalahantersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmenganalisis ukuran dan kematangan gonadrajungan hasil tangkapan bubu rangkaiberdasarkan fase bulan serta efisiensiekonomis alat tangkap ini. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan kecenderungan lebar karapaksdan bobot individu rata-rata yanglebih tinggi pada fase bulan awal terangdan fase bulan terang, walaupun rata-ratajumlah individu yang tertangkap per tiriplebih tinggi pada fase bulan terang danawal gelap. Hanya sedikit rajungan matanggonad yang tertangkap. Strategi yang dapatditerapkan untuk meningkatkan sifatramah lingkungan bubu rangkai adalah: Bubudipasang pada kedalaman >15 meteruntuk memperoleh ukuran yang lebih besar;Operasi penangkapan dapat difokuskanpada fase bulan awal terang dan teranguntuk memperoleh bobot individu yang lebih besar; Bila tertangkap rajungan denganlebar karapaks < 10cm atau betina matanggonad dapat dilepas kembali ke alam;Untuk efisiensi pemasaran, hasil tangkapandapat ditampung sementara dalam kurungantancap dan diberi pakan ikan rucah.Usaha penangkapan rajungan denganbubu rangkai layak dan menguntungkan secaraekonomis dengan nilai NPV Rp. 84 .098 . 870, B/C - ratio 23 dan IRR 605 %.

Abstract

Ikan hias adalah salah satu potensi  perikanan yang cukup besar di Indonesia. Budidaya ikan hias air tawar memiliki nilai ekspor yang cukup tinggi dan berpeluang dapat meningkatkan devisa. Ikan hias dapat dijadikan alternatif usaha yang dapat memberikan keuntungan finansial. Ikan pelangi (Melanotaenia parva) merupakan salah satu ikan hias air tawar yang memiliki warna, bentuk dan ukuran yang menarik, serta mudah dibudidayakan. Budidaya ikan pelangi memiliki kendala terutama pada ketersediaan benih. Ketersediaan benih berhubungan dengan waktu penetasan telur yang membutuhkan waktu lama. Peningkatan salinitas dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan benih ikan pelangi. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh salinitas terhadap daya tetas dan lama waktu penetasan telur ikan pelangi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan salinitas yaitu 0; 2; 4; 6; 8; dan 10 ppt dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penetasan telur menggunakan salinitas yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap lama embriogenesis. Telur ikan pelangi yang ditetaskan pada salinitas 4 ppt lebih cepat menetas dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lain. Kontras dengan lama waktu penetasan, ternyata salinitas  tidak berpengaruh terhadap daya tetas telur ikan pelangi. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar penggunaan air berkadar garam rendah disarankan untuk mempersingkat embriogenesis ikan pelangi.

Abstract

Zooxanthellae is one food source of clams. Zooxanthellae stay on the mantle tissue and photosynthesis activity. Quantity of photosynthesis is influenced by the zooxanthellae density and type of clam.  This study aims to determine the density zooxanthellae of symbiotic with clams Tridacna squamosa and Hippopus hippopus. The usefulness of the research will provide data and information on the density zooxanthellae of the Tridacna squamosa zooxanthella and Hippopus hippopus clams and as consideration for site selection translocated clams. The study was conducted in August-December 2013 by doing sampling clams in Toli-Toli and Sawapudo village waters. Mantle tissue clams taken 1 cm2 and analyzed in the laboratory. The results showed that Tridacna squamosa has the highest density zooxanthellae compared with Hippopus hippopus. Tridacna squamosa and Hippopus hippopus shell size > 15 cm has the highest density zooxanthellae compared with shell size <15 cm. High suspended solids in the water affect the density zooxanthellae of clams.

Abstract

Tubifex sp. merupakan salah satu pakan alami terbaik untuk larva lele. Kultur massal Tubifex sp .perlu dilakukan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan pakan lele secara kuantitas maupun kualitas khususnya pada stadia larva. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah mengkaji performa pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan larva lele dengan pemberian pakan Tubifex sp. yang dikultur massal menggunakan fermentasi limbah industri rumah tangga. Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah larva ikan lele (C. gariepenus) dengan berat0,06±0,03 g/individu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 kali ulangan yaitu perlakuan A (50 g/L kotoran ayam; 100g/Lroti afkir; 50 g/L ampas tahu); B (50 g/L kotoran ayam; 100g/L bekatul; 50 g/L ampas tahu) dan C (50 g/L kotoran ayam; 100g/L bungkil kelapa; 50 g/L ampas tahu). Pemberian Tubifex sp. sebagai pakan alami sebanyak 5 kali sehari secara ad libitum.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,01) pada laju pertumbuhan dan tidak berpengaruh yang nyata (P>0,01) kelulushidupan larva ikan lele(C. gariepenus). Laju pertumbuhan relatif larva ikan lele (C. gariepenus) memiliki nilai rerata berkisar antara 17.1%-18.7% dengan tingkat kelulushidupan berkisar antara 96,8% - 98,8%.  Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian, maka perlakuan A dengan nilai RGR dan SR 18.7% dan 98.8% merupakan perlakuan terbaik untuk meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan larva ikan lele (C. gariepenus).

Abstract

This research was aimed to study the effect of vitamin C on diets with low protein and high energy content on growth and survival rate of tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) juveniles. It is also to know the dose or the best level concentration of vitamin C on growth and survival rate of tiger grouper (E. fuscoguttatus) juveniles. Tiger Grouper juveniles of 0,77+0,07 g initial body weight were reared in aquarium 60 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm with 7 ind. / 35 L. Artificial feed were fed in at satiation. The juveniles were fed dry pellet diets which containing 40% protein and 20% lipid in different levels of vitamin C (Ascorbate-2-Sulfate):0 mg/kg, 75 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg, 225 mg/kg. The experimental laboratoris method was conducted using Completely Randomized Design with three replicate for each treatment. The result of the experiment showed that there was a very significant effect of treatments on the SGR (Spesific Growth Rate), FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio), PER (Protein Efficiency Ratio), SR (Survival Rate) of tiger grouper (E. fuscoguttatus) juveniles (P < 0,01). That values more higher after added vitamin C (Ascorbate-2-Sulfate). Best treatment was obtained at supplementation vitamin C of 150 mg/kg. On the other hand be lower at highest dose on treatment D (225 mg/kg). Its indicated that vitamin C can improve and give better on growth and survival rate. The optimum condition of water quality also have been led to significant improvement in growth and survival rate

Abstract

Some researcher’s claim some of fish have been studied in Kao Bay were at dangerous level because mercury and cyanide contains. Nevertheless, up to now people around Kao Bay were consumed a marine product as a livelihood sources and food sources. The purpose of this research were to determine of Pb,Cd, Cu and Zn on anchovy (Stolephorus sp) and white shrimp (Penaeus marguiensis) around Kao Bay. The result expected could contributingthe feasible of anchovy and white shrimp were consumed. The method were used to determine the content of Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn on anchovy and white shrimp by using AAS method with HNO3 reagent. Those research assess thecontent of heavy metals in laboratory of Mathematics and Science Faculty of Brawijaya University. The results obtained the metal content in anchovy were Zn> Cd> Pb> Cu and the  metal content in white shrimp were Zn> Cu> Pb> Cd. The results showed the content of Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn on anchovies had exceeded the maximum limit were set and the content of Pb, Cd, and Cu on white shrimps has exceeded except the Zn in was below the maximum limit but is already at a critical level.
