The data were analyzed using qualitative sis and quantitative descriptive analyses. The calculation of added value used Hayami added value method. There are two types of added value of melinjo chips such as uncooked melinjo chips and cooked melinjo chips. The results showed that added value is a positive value, meaning that both kinds of chips agroindustries are feasible to be developed. The value added of uncooked melinjo chips is higher than that of cooked chips. The R/C over total cost is 1.20, meaning that the emping melinjo agroindustry in Bernung Village, Gedong Tataan Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency is a profitable and viable business since R/C value is more than one.Key words: added value, melinjo chips, profit

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that affect production of vegetable (chili, mustard and cabbage)farming and the technical efficiency. The research was conducted in North Dempo and South Pagar Alam Subdistrict of Pagar Alam. Farmer respondents were chosen by using simple random sampling. Data were collected in May–Juny 2018 and analyzed using Cobb-Douglas production functionnamely frontier production function. The results showed that factors affecting the production of chili farming are area lands, seeds and nitrogen fertilizer. Factors affecting the production of mustard farming are landsize, seeds and potassium fertilizer, and pesticide. Factors affecting the production of cabbage farming are area landslandsizeand manure. Vegetable farming (chili, mustard and cabbage) is on an increasing return to scale (Ep>1) or in irrational area so that it does not meet the requirement for economic efficiency. Chili and mustard farming are technically efficient with an efficiency level greater than 70,00%. The level of technical efficiency of chili farming is 86,99% and mustard farming is 80,08%. Cabbage farming is not technically efficient because the efficiency level is below 70,00%, that is 68,72%.Key words: efficiency, farming, vegetable

The data collection was conducted in November - December 2017. The research method used was census. The number of organic and anorganic rice farmers sampled were 35 farmers. The data was analyzed by descriptive analysis, Spearman rank correlation and the Mann-Whitney test. The results of this research show that the performance of organic and anorganic rice farming were land processing, seeding, planting, pest and disease controlling, fertilizating, irrigating, and harvesting. The differences performance of organic and anorganic rice farming were in seeding, pests and diseases controlling, and fertilizing. The rice farmers' perception to organic farming systems was quite good. The related factors to farmers' perception were social interaction, community support, and farmers' interests. There were no significant differences between organic farmers? perceptions and the anorganic farmers? perceptions. Abstract

This research aims to analyzewhich tariff and non-tariff barriersare implemented by European Union (EU) on Indonesian Crude Palm Oil (CPO), whether the non-tariff barrier named ?Report on Palm Oil and Deforestation of Rainforest? which has been ratified by the European Commission (EC) have a significant effects on Indonesian CPO export, and bargaining positionof Indonesian CPO in vegetable oils market. This research used secondary data obtained from BPS, Indonesian National Export Development Agency, Central Bank of Indonesia, Eurostat, WTO, FAO, and supported by interviews with Indonesian Ministry of Trade and Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA). The results showed that the EU imposed tariff barriers that varied between 3.8 - 15%. However, tariff barriers were not appliedfor CPO with HS code 1511101000. The EU has implemented non-tariff barriers on Indonesian CPO since 1905 with various kinds of issues such as health, social and environment. The non-tariff barrier which was ratified in April 2017 by the EC does not significantly affect Indonesian CPO export, but it causes reduction on palm oil prices in Indonesia. Bargaining position of Indonesian CPO in the CPO trade to EU was still powerful compared with othervegetable oils such as Rapeseed Oil (RSO), Sunflower Oil (SFO), and Soybean Oil (SBO).Keywords:CPO, european union, non-tariff barriers.
