Abstract

In the Islamic context, the quality of the relationship between husband and wife is greatly influenced by the husband's character, which is measured based on the hadith "Khiyārukum Khiyārukum Linisāihim," narrated in the Sunan al-Tirmidhi. This study aims to analyze the normative meaning of this hadith, particularly in relation to the husband's character within the family. The research methodology employed is qualitative, using a library research approach and the Takhrīj al-Ḥadīṡ technique to verify the sanad and matn of the hadith, along with a syarah analysis to understand the relevance of the hadith's content to the husband's character in building a sakinah family. The findings of this study indicate that the quality of a husband's faith is reflected in his treatment of his wife, which includes love, justice, responsibility, and gentleness. This discovery contributes to understanding the importance of the husband's character in creating marital harmony and reducing the potential for divorce. In conclusion, this research affirms that this hadith is not only theologically relevant but also practical in establishing a sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah Islamic family. Future research is expected to further explore the application of the values in this hadith within the context of modern social realities.

Abstract

This study explores the voices of Banjar migrant women who experienced polygamy, focusing on their lived experiences and the socio-cultural mechanisms that legitimize this practice. Employing a life history method, the research draws on in-depth interviews with Banjar women subjected to polygamous marriages in Serdang Bedagai, Indonesia. Data were analyzed through a systematic process involving data reduction, narrative presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that polygamy within Banjar society is deeply embedded in religious interpretations, cultural traditions, and social norms, all of which are reinforced by the authority of Tuan Guru (religious leaders) who frame the role of polygamous wives as spiritually honorable. However, beneath this constructed legitimacy lies a system of male domination that operates through three interrelated forms of power: material power, manifested in male control over economic resources; symbolic power, which enhances male social status through polygamy; and normative power, which restricts women’s resistance through religious and cultural justification. Together, these forms of power constitute a cohesive structure of gendered subjugation, wherein polygamy functions not only as a personal or cultural practice but as an institutionalized mechanism of oppression.

Abstract

This paper examines the integration of Islamic education and the sociology of education perspective as a response to the crisis of dehumanization in modern education. Modern education, which tends to emphasize cognitive and instrumental aspects, has neglected the spiritual and moral dimensions of humankind. Through the approaches of classical sociologists such as Émile Durkheim and Talcott Parsons, as well as the thoughts of Muslim scholars such as Hasan Langgulung, Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, and Abdurrahman an-Nahlawi, this article demonstrates that Islamic education offers a holistic educational model. By making tawhid (Islamic unity) the foundation, morality the goal, and worship the integration of knowledge and practice, Islamic education can shape perfect human beings who are not only intellectually intelligent but also morally, spiritually, and socially sound. This conceptualization positions Islamic education as a humanistic, transformative, and relevant alternative solution in addressing global challenges.

Abstract

Beggars or individuals who seek to earn money without making an effort to work are often seen as symbols of social issues, which are called social pathologies.  Because this clearly violates the norms of goodness and harms many people, one of the factors is poverty that has not been overcome. This research aims to find out the hadith law about begging, its contents, and its implications for begging mental coping. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research, and uses two types of data, namely primary and secondary. The primary data source is obtained from interviews while secondary data sources are obtained from literature studies, literature, books, or journal analysis studies that are relevant to the topic discussed. The results of this study show that in Islamic sharia begging is a highly prohibited act. Especially if it is done by deceiving others and pretending to be weak, but people are allowed to beg under certain circumstances. The implementation of the prohibition of asking in the Holy Tower needs to be seen from two sides, namely the person who asks and the person who gives, while still paying attention to the manners and rules in the Kudus Regional Regulation. In this research article, it is hoped that it can provide a deep understanding to beggars about the prohibition of begging, as well as its implementation on mental overcoming of begging.

Abstract

The implementation of an environmentally friendly education system is increasingly gaining attention in sustainable social development. This approach includes efforts to encourage the development of environmentally conscious Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). In their development, Islamic boarding schools are not only known as religious educational institutions and social centers, but awareness of the surrounding environment is still often neglected. Using qualitative methods and a library research approach, this article aims to examine community service activities that lead to a paradigm shift in Islamic boarding schools. The results of the study indicate that Islamic boarding schools not only carry out educational functions but also play a vital role as agents of social transformation to improve the quality of life of the surrounding community. Furthermore, Islamic boarding schools can be pioneers in creating a sustainable environment. This research uses a literature review method to develop an Eco-Pesantren strategy and evaluate its impact on socio-economic aspects, both for the Islamic boarding schools themselves and the wider community. The Eco-Pesantren concept is positioned as a foundation for teaching that prioritizes the value of environmental concern, while environmental theology enriches this concept with a profound philosophical-ecological approach.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy of the gold pawning product (rahn) at BSI KCP Rungkut 1 and its impact on the increase in the number of customers. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews with internal bank representatives. The research findings indicate that the marketing strategies implemented encompass the 7Ps of marketing: a sharia-based product, competitive pricing without interest, active promotion through social media and direct visits to markets ("market raids"), as well as fast, transparent services guided by the AKHLAK values. These strategies have successfully attracted new customers, particularly from the MSME sector and housewives. The number of customers increased from 300 in 2023 to 425 in 2024. This proves that an effective marketing strategy, based on community engagement and sharia principles, can enhance customer trust and loyalty toward the gold pawning product.

Abstract

The Kelurahan Cinta Statistik (Kelurahan Cantik) Program is a development program implemented by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to improve literacy and utilization of statistical data at the village level as a basis for data-driven development planning. The success of this program is greatly influenced by stakeholder readiness, particularly in terms of human resources. This study aims to determine stakeholder readiness in implementing the Kelurahan Cinta Statistik Program in Kebun Geran Village. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that stakeholder readiness in implementing the Kelurahan Cinta Statistik Program in Kebun Geran Village is in the sufficient category. Village heads have a good understanding and play an active role in supporting the program, while statistical agents and village officials have basic knowledge and skills that still need to be improved. Supporting stakeholders demonstrate a positive attitude and participation, but their involvement is still limited. Based on the Diffusion of Innovation Theory, this program is in the early to intermediate adoption stage, requiring strengthening of human resource capacity and infrastructure support for optimal and sustainable program operation.
