Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of a science process skills (SPS) assessment instrument in an online magnetic field practicum on the topic of single coils using Remote Physics Lab (R-PhyLab). The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) limited to the Develop stage. The instrument was structured in 15 multiple-choice questions covering five aspects of SPS: observing, predicting, measuring, interpreting data, and communicating scientifically. Content validation by three experts using the Gregory formula resulted in an 80% suitability level, with 12 items declared valid and 3 items requiring revision. The trial was conducted on two groups of students at MAN Insan Cendekia Paser. The analysis results showed that all questions were in the easy category (P > 0.70) and the instrument reliability was in the moderate category (KR-20 = 0.46). This instrument has implications for the availability of measuring tools that can help physics teachers identify students' scientific skills authentically in the context of online practicums. In the future, this instrument can be adapted for other physics topics or developed with a more varied assessment format to support deep learning-based learning in the understanding phase.

Abstract

This research aims to revitalize Buya Hamka's integration of faith and morals in rebuilding the concept of humanization in modern education. This study stems from concerns about the moral crisis and dehumanization in the education system, which overemphasizes cognitive aspects and neglects spiritual character formation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with library research, through hermeneutic analysis of Hamka's key works, such as Tafsir al-Azhar, Lembaga Budi, Falsafah Hidup, and Sufism Modern. The results show that Hamka viewed faith and morals as two inseparable elements: faith serves as a spiritual foundation, while morals are a concrete reflection of living faith. This integration creates an educational paradigm that balances intellectual, moral, and spiritual aspects. The implication is that the education system needs to be directed towards the formation of the whole person (insan kamil) through synergy between the family, school, and community. This study confirms the relevance of Hamka's thought in the context of contemporary education, which faces the challenges of globalization and a values crisis. Furthermore, it enriches the theoretical discourse on Islamic education by offering a new conceptual framework based on faith and morality as a foundation for the rehumanization of education.

Abstract

In order to fulfill the educational rights of every citizen which have been regulated in law, one of which is to realize services and equal distribution of educational quality, the Government issued regulations regarding the zoning system. The policy regarding the zoning system is stated in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 14 of 2018, namely Admission of New Students (PPDB) which emphasizes the distance or radius between the student's house and the school, so whoever is closer to the school is more entitled to receive educational services from that school. Since it was implemented in 2018, the New Student Admissions (PPDB) zoning system has reaped sharp pros and cons and problems in society. The aim of this research is to analyze the pros and cons phenomena and problems of the zoning system in society within the framework of legal sociology as an evaluation of efforts to improve the system. This research uses a literature study method by collecting and analyzing results from various sources and relevant data. The results of this research reveal that the main challenges in implementing zoning policies are the lack of preparedness of stakeholders affected at the local level, the lack of distribution in public schools, school infrastructure, teacher resources, educational assistance, as well as a pragmatic culture or cheating that is commonly carried out. The implementation of the zoning system must always be evaluated and improved in order to achieve quality education.

Abstract

Era disrupsi dan persaingan global telah mengubah lanskap pendidikan, menuntut lembaga pendidikan Islam untuk berinovasi guna meningkatkan daya saing. Masyarakat kini mengevaluasi pengalaman layanan secara holistik, menjadikan kualitas jasa sebagai faktor penentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi dan dampak manajemen kualitas jasa pendidikan dalam perspektif manajemen pemasaran pendidikan Islam. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur yang mendalam, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kerangka kerja Total Quality Management (TQM) dan Service Quality (SERVQUAL). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kelima dimensi SERVQUAL (tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy) menjadi model efektif yang diperkuat oleh integrasi nilai-nilai Islam seperti amanah, ihsan, dan rahmah. Implementasi ini terbukti tidak hanya meningkatkan kepuasan dan loyalitas stakeholder, tetapi juga membentuk karakter peserta didik yang unggul secara akademis dan spiritual. Dari perspektif pemasaran, kualitas jasa yang konsisten dan autentik berfungsi sebagai investasi strategis untuk membangun ekuitas merek (brand equity). Kualitas menciptakan siklus virtus: pengalaman positif melahirkan kepercayaan, yang memicu loyalitas dan advokasi dari mulut ke mulut.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of differentiation strategies and learning motivation on critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah on the theme of Ecosystems, as well as the interaction between the two. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method. The sample consisted of 41 students from grades VA and VB. The instrument was a critical thinking skills test, and the data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test. The results showed that differentiation strategies had a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills (p = 0.030), which indicates the importance of implementing learning tailored to students' needs, interests, and abilities. In contrast, learning motivation did not show a significant effect (p = 0.812), as did the interaction between differentiation strategies and learning motivation (p = 0.859). These results indicate that an appropriate and differentiated learning approach has a greater influence on the development of critical thinking skills than internal learning motivation. Therefore, teachers are advised to implement adaptive and responsive strategies to optimally support students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Bojonegoro Regency Government in expanding access to education for people with disabilities through the Education Without Borders policy, which is oriented towards inclusive development and social justice. The main problem identified is the limited physical, social, and economic accessibility for people with disabilities to obtain adequate educational services. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews with officials from the Education Office, Social Services Office, Transportation Office, organizations for people with disabilities (PPDI and HWDI), as well as direct observation in inclusive schools and public facilities. The results show that the Bojonegoro Regency Government has committed to expanding access to education through various initiatives such as providing free transportation for students with disabilities, adding inclusive schools, training special assistant teachers, and building disability-friendly public facilities. The inclusive transportation program has been proven to increase the attendance rate of students with disabilities by up to 35%, reduce the dropout rate, and strengthen student self-confidence. However, limitations in fleets, human resources, and inter-agency coordination remain major obstacles in policy implementation. Overall, the Education Without Borders policy in Bojonegoro has demonstrated effective inclusive governance practices and can be used as a national model for other regions in expanding access to inclusive education based on social justice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how Sidogiri Media, as a pesantren media, represents the discourse of the authority of converts' da'wah in its 211th edition entitled "Converts Preach, Isn't It Dangerous?" This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type and applies Teun A. van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis model which includes three main dimensions: text structure, social cognition, and social context. The results show that Sidogiri Media frames the phenomenon of converts' da'wah as an issue that needs to be controlled and directed by religious scholars, especially pesantren. Through evaluative diction, instructive sentences, and contrasting patterns between "those with knowledge" and "those who are just learning," this bulletin emphasizes the position of pesantren as a scientific authority and guardian of the legitimacy of Islamic da'wah. From a social cognition perspective, the author's view is influenced by traditional pesantren values that uphold sanad and knowledge as the basis of da'wah authority, while from a social context, this text is a form of pesantren's ideological response to the disruption of religious authority in the digital era. Thus, Sidogiri Media not only functions as a medium for preaching, but also as a means of reproducing Islamic boarding school ideology in maintaining the structure of religious authority in the Islamic public sphere.

Abstract

This study aimed to produce a diagnostic assessment instrument for mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students, describe the quality of diagnostic assessment instruments, and describe the profile of mathematical reasoning ability of junior high school students in Barru Regency based on the diagnostic assessment developed. This study used a development research approach referencing instrument development procedure from Edi Istiyono. Test and measurement subjects included 534 grade VIII students in Barru Regency. Data analysis included content validity through expert judgement analyzed using Aiken's V coefficient; construct validity through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA); reliability estimation using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient; and item analysis based on item response theory with GPCM model. Results showed: (1) Construction of diagnostic assessment instruments for mathematical reasoning ability developed based on five aspects: compiling conjectures, providing reasons or evidence, drawing conclusions, examining validity of arguments, and finding patterns and making generalizations; (2) Instrument quality reviewed from content validity with V Aiken declared valid; construct validity tested through CFA, resulting in 19 items indicating loading factor > 0.35; instrument reliability using Cronbach Alpha in high category; (3) Mathematical reasoning ability results were categorized as very high (18%), high (21%), low (41%), and very low (20%).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of waiters and waitresses in improving performance in hotel and restaurant businesses in Parepare City. The background of the study is based on the strategic role of waiters as the spearhead of service that is directly related to customer satisfaction and loyalty. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies of hotel and restaurant managers. The results show that most waiters and waitresses in Parepare have not received adequate professional training, either in technical skills or soft skills, so that service quality is not optimal. The main constraints are limited training facilities, low work motivation, and the lack of sustainable human resource development programs. This study recommends the need for competency-based training, improved training facilities, foreign language proficiency, and local government support in implementing waiter development programs. Thus, it is hoped that the quality of hotel and restaurant services in Parepare City can improve, support business competitiveness, and strengthen the city's image as a tourism destination.

Abstract

This study discusses the role and status of mothers in the family based on the story of Maryam bint Imran from the perspective of the Qur’an. Islam places mothers in a strategic position, not only as biological figures who give birth and nurse, but also as educators, character builders, and guardians of spiritual values within the family. The study employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, using the tafsir tahlili method, which interprets the Qur’anic verses sequentially and contextually. The findings reveal that Maryam’s role includes dedicating her child for the sake of religion, providing proper education and a good name, praying for her child, preserving her chastity, and enduring pregnancy and childbirth with steadfast faith. In the Qur’an, the status of mothers is exalted due to their piety, spiritual strength, and contribution to nurturing a faithful generation. The story of Maryam affirms that Allah Almighty chose the family of Imran as the best family and selected Maryam above all other women on earth.
