Abstract

This research aims to examine the application of mutlaq and muqayyad interpretation methods in understanding the verses of the Qur'an accurately, systematically and contextually. The methods of mutlaq and muqayyad are important instruments in the discipline of interpretation and ushul fiqh which also function to maintain the accuracy of the meaning and accuracy of the exploration of Islamic law..This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method, namely reviewing and analyzing various literature sources in the form of books, tafsir books, and scientific journal articles relevant to the study theme. The results of the study indicate that mutlaq is a word that shows the ultimate meaning without any limitations of nature, size, or certain conditions, while muqayyad is a word that is limited by certain properties, circumstances, or conditions that bind its meaning. These two rules refer to the way the pronunciations in the Al-Quran are viewed in terms of the meaning they carry. Understanding these two rules is very important for mufassir and mujtahid in the istinbath al-ahkam process so that there are no misinterpretations of the text of the Al-Qur'an. Thus, mastering the methods of interpretation of mutlaq and muqayyad is the key to understanding the Al-Qur'an comprehensively and in accordance with the objectives of Islamic law. This study is expected to make an academic contribution to the development of contemporary Islamic interpretation and education studies in higher education.

Abstract

In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), epistemology not only emphasizes the importance of knowledge as a path toward Allah but also encourages the integration of revelation and reason within the learning process. This article outlines how integrative epistemology can be implemented in the design of Semester Learning Plans (RPS), teaching materials, and PAI instructional methods to produce learning that is meaningful, contextual, and oriented toward the development of Islamic character. This research aims to conceptually examine the implications of integrative epistemology on three essential components of higher education practice: Semester Learning Plans (RPS), Teaching Materials, and Instructional Methods. Integrative epistemology is an effort to unify religious and general sciences within a single, holistic scientific paradigm. As a framework that rejects the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences, it emphasizes the unity of knowledge sources, whether derived from revelation (naqli) or reason and experience (aqli/kauni). Results show that this application demands a paradigm shift in micro-curriculum design, encompassing spiritual dimensions and interdisciplinary approaches like PjBL to produce insan kamil.

Abstract

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an essential component of educational human resource management aimed at improving tutors' competencies in responding to the demands of twenty-first-century learning. Preliminary observations indicate that tutors teaching at BUNGA Tutoring Center still face limitations in designing digital learning media that are engaging and easily accessible for learners. This condition highlights the need for a structured, simple, and relevant CPD program within the context of non-formal educational human resource management. This study aims to develop a CPD program based on the ADDIE model to enhance tutors' competencies in designing digital learning media using Google Sites. The study employs a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research participants comprised 15 tutors teaching at elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, product assessments, response questionnaires, and observations. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results indicate an improvement in tutors' competencies, as evidenced by increased pre-test and post-test scores with a high N-Gain category. The developed digital learning media products were categorized as good to very good, and tutors' responses to the CPD program were classified as highly positive.

Abstract

The implementation of pre-departure crisis management is a crucial aspect in the implementation of the International Community Service Program (KKN). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the crisis management strategy implemented by UIN Walisongo Semarang in addressing the obstacles in issuing transit visas for Saudi Arabian students participating in the International KKN program, and to formulate practical solutions as recommendations for the institution. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive case study approach, involving in-depth interviews with the KKN organizing committee, travel agents, and affected participants. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the pre-crisis phase experienced significant failures due to the lack of updated information on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) transit visa regulations by the Tour Leader and the underestimation of visa processing time. Nevertheless, crisis management strategies during the crisis phase (crisis event), such as problem-focus and adaptive coping, successfully minimized the impact of losses. These findings emphasize the urgency of crisis management and effective strategies in international KKN. This study presents an in-depth analysis of transit visa crisis management, which has rarely been studied, particularly in the context of the Hajj and Umrah Management program at UIN Walisongo Semarang.

Abstract

Child education based on the Qur'an serves as a fundamental foundation for developing character, spirituality, and holistic intelligence from an early age. This study aims to examine and formulate a Qur'an-based early childhood education model to strengthen Islamic character in response to the challenges of the digital era. Using a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach, the study analyzes Qur'anic verses, Hadith, classical and contemporary Qur'anic exegesis, and Islamic education literature. The findings indicate that Qur'an- and Hadith-based child education emphasizes faith formation, moral habituation, and balanced development of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This educational model is relevant in addressing moral crises and value disorientation in modern education. The findings indicate that a Qur'an- and Hadith-based child education model encompasses three main pillars:(1) Habituation (Value Inculcation): the cultivation of manners and moral conduct through Qur'anic narratives;(2) Understanding (Islamic Cognition): the introduction of fundamental concepts of creed (ʿaqīdah), Islamic law (sharīʿah), and worship through simple translations and interpretations; and (3) Practice (Internalization): the daily practice of acts of worship such as prayer and fasting, supported by age-appropriate guidance. Overall, the study demonstrates that the Qur'an and Hadith provide a comprehensive framework for child education through the inculcation oftawḥīd, the habituation of noble character, the development of intellect, and the balanced integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Qur'an- and Hadith-based child education is therefore highly relevant in addressing the moral crisis and value disorientation prevalent in modern educational systems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of modulation translation techniques applied in the subtitles of the film Under Paris and analyze the effect of their application on the shift in meaning between French as the source language and Indonesian as the target language. This study focuses on modulation techniques based on the theoretical framework of Vinay and Darbelnet and the adjustment of meaning based on the theory of Nida and Taber. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data sources in the form of dialogue in the subtitles of the film Under Paris (2024). Data were collected through listening and note-taking techniques, then analyzed interpretively. The results of the study are that all seven forms of modulation techniques according to Vinay and Darbelnet were found in the data, namely abstract-concrete shifts, cause-effect, whole-part, positive-negative, active-passive, physical-psychological, and space-time. Of the total data analyzed, 40 data were found containing modulation techniques, with positive-negative modulation as the most dominant form. In addition, the application of modulation techniques shows a close relationship with the adjustment of meaning as stated by Nida and Taber. Although not all semantic adjustment categories appear in every modulation data, context-based adjustments are the most frequently used category, indicating the importance of situational and visual context in subtitle translation. The study concludes that modulation techniques play a significant role in producing subtitle translations that are natural, acceptable, and appropriate to the audiovisual context.

Abstract

Zakat management in the contemporary era faces challenges not only in the collection aspect, but also in the effectiveness of governance and its relevance in realizing sustainable community welfare. The main problem of this research is the extent to which zakat governance carried out by BAZNAS Siak Regency has been aligned with the objectives of the Qur'an (maqāṣid al-Qur'ān) and contributed significantly to improving the welfare of mustahik. This study aims to analyze the practice of zakat management in Siak Regency through the maqāṣidī interpretation approach, emphasizing the orientation of zakat as an instrument of social and economic empowerment. The method used is qualitative-normative research with a descriptive-analytical approach, through the study of Qur'anic verses on zakat, contemporary maqāṣidī interpretation literature, and empirical data on zakat management and distribution of BAZNAS Siak Regency. The results of the study indicate that zakat governance in Siak Regency, through programs such as Smart Siak, Healthy Siak, and Prosperous Siak, has generally been in line with the maqāṣid al-Qur'ān, especially in the aspects of welfare equality, protection of human dignity, and economic empowerment of mustahik. The increase in zakat collection to Rp4.8 billion in Ramadhan 1446 H reflects institutional effectiveness and increased public trust. However, this study also found challenges in the form of limited integration of mustahik data and the need to expand productive zakat. This study concludes that zakat in Siak Regency has functioned as a welfare instrument oriented towards Qur'anic goals, but still requires strengthening of governance for a more sustainable impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of school climate on student engagement with peer support as a moderator variable in students of MTs Islamiyah Guppi. The background of this study is based on the importance of a positive school environment and peer support in increasing student engagement in learning activities. The research subjects were 269 students in grades VII, VIII, and IX with an age range of 13–15 years. This study used a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis method. The research instruments included scales of school climate, peer support, and student engagement that had been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it was found that school climate had a positive and significant effect on student engagement with a coefficient value of 0.475 and a p-value of 0.000. In addition, peer support also had a positive and significant effect on student engagement with a coefficient value of 0.475 and a p-value of 0.000. The results of the moderation test showed that peer support significantly moderated the relationship between school climate and student engagement, with a coefficient value of 0.131 and a p-value of 0.024. The total effect value of 0.606 indicates that the more positive the school climate and the stronger the peer support, the higher the level of student engagement in learning activities. This finding confirms that student engagement in school is influenced not only by a conducive school climate but also by social support among students, which strengthens these positive relationships.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and formulate the steps involved in a community needs assessment (Needs Study) and to identify the most required new study programs with the potential for realization at the State College of Buddhist Studies (STAB Negeri) Raden Wijaya. This Needs Study was conducted through three main steps: Identification of Community Needs, Analysis of Internal and External Factors, and Formulation of Recommendations. The research findings indicate a significant demand from the Buddhist community in Indonesia for several non-traditional study programs, with the top five being: Computer Education (11.22%), Mandarin Language Education (9.65%), Early Childhood Education (8.36%), English Language Education (8.04%), and Guidance and Counseling (7.08%). Based on a comparison between community needs and the availability and readiness of Human Resources (HR) at STAB Negeri Raden Wijaya, four study programs are proposed for immediate establishment: English Language Education, Education Management, Educational Technology, and Indonesian Language and Literature Education. These four proposed programs possess a strong internal HR foundation, consisting of lecturers holding S2 (Master's) and S3 (Doctoral) degrees with specific expertise in the relevant fields, demonstrating the institution's readiness to quickly form core program management teams and teach essential courses.
