Abstract

The rapid technological shift in the hospitality industry requires organizations to continuously adapt, particularly in integrating digital services and strengthening work culture. At Maya Sanur Resort & Spa, the diffusion of innovation has progressed unevenly, as a number of employees remain hesitant to adopt new digital systems and rely on manual work routines. This study aims to analyze how innovation is diffused within the organization and how work culture is developed to support these changes. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving managers and employees directly engaged in daily hotel operations. The data were analyzed through the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show four main points. First, innovation diffusion occurs through mass communication, interpersonal communication, and the organization’s social system. Second, the work culture emphasizes discipline, openness, cooperation, responsibility, and professionalism, which shape employees’ readiness to accept new practices. Third, the combination of innovation and cultural strengthening creates an adaptive and competitive work environment that enhances service quality and customer satisfaction. Fourth, management support through training, mentoring, and transparent communication plays a central role in accelerating innovation adoption. Overall, the study highlights that a strong work culture is essential to ensure the consistent and sustainable implementation of innovation in hospitality settings.

Abstract

Growing pressure from stakeholders and global sustainability challenges has increased the demand for transparent and reliable non-financial disclosures. Although sustainability accounting frameworks such as GRI and ISSB have expanded rapidly, many companies still face inconsistencies in the quality and use of sustainability information. This study aims to explain how sustainability accounting can enhance corporate transparency and sustainability performance, while addressing the gap in previous literature that often discusses these components separately. Using a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes books, journal articles, and official sustainability reporting standards published within the last decade. Content analysis was applied to identify recurring themes related to the role, relevance, and impact of sustainability accounting in organizational practices. The findings show that sustainability accounting strengthens transparency by providing structured and comparable ESG disclosures, enabling stakeholders to assess environmental and social impacts more accurately. The study also finds that sustainability accounting contributes to improved sustainability performance by helping companies evaluate resource efficiency, emissions control, employee welfare, and governance quality. These insights demonstrate that sustainability accounting functions not only as a reporting tool but also as a strategic managerial instrument that supports long-term value creation. The study highlights the urgent need for companies to adopt consistent sustainability reporting frameworks to ensure accountability and maintain legitimacy in an increasingly sustainability-oriented business environment.

Abstract

This study examines how the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) influences the growth and financial practices of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Although QRIS has been widely promoted as a unified digital payment solution that can reduce reliance on cash and enhance transparency, its adoption among MSMEs remains uneven due to gaps in digital literacy, infrastructure limitations, and concerns about data security. To address these issues, this research employs a systematic literature review (SLR) of 20 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025. The review was conducted through a structured process involving keyword identification, database searches, screening based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, and thematic synthesis of the selected studies. The findings show that QRIS offers clear benefits in improving transaction speed, operational efficiency, and accuracy of financial records, which collectively support business growth and expand market reach. At the same time, adoption is strongly shaped by perceived usefulness, ease of use, and the influence of customers and peers. The review also highlights persistent barriers, particularly low digital readiness and sensitivity to transaction fees among micro-merchants. Based on the synthesized evidence, this study proposes a strategic framework consisting of digital literacy enhancement, infrastructure support, and strengthened data protection as key pillars for accelerating adoption. The results provide practical insights for policymakers and financial institutions in fostering a more inclusive and sustainable digital payment ecosystem for MSMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has transformed business practices among MSMEs, particularly through the adoption of e-commerce and digital marketing. However, the level of digital literacy and the ability of business actors to optimize digital platforms in Kupang City remain uneven, creating a gap between available technological opportunities and their actual utilization. This study aims to analyze how MSMEs in Kupang City employ e-commerce and digital marketing and how these practices contribute to business productivity. Using a qualitative method with an analyticalexploratory approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which includes data condensation, presentation, and conclusion verification. The findings indicate that e-commerce enhances business visibility, accelerates transactions, and expands market reach, especially for MSMEs with higher digital competence. Digital marketing through social media platforms also strengthens customer engagement when content is produced consistently and reflects local cultural nuances. The most substantial improvement in productivity appears among MSMEs that integrate e-commerce and digital marketing, resulting in increased sales, broader customer reach, and more efficient operations. Nevertheless, limited digital literacy, inadequate equipment, and weak content management remain obstacles for many business actors. These results underscore the need to strengthen digital capacity so that MSMEs in Kupang City can fully utilize digital opportunities and enhance their competitiveness.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has reshaped how individuals interact, work, and participate in economic activities, with Generation Z positioned at the center of this transformation. Growing up in a fully digital environment, this generation demonstrates distinctive behavioral patterns that influence shifts in consumption, entrepreneurship, and digital work practices. This study aims to explain how Generation Z contributes to the transformation of economic activities in the digital era and to identify the challenges they encounter. Using a descriptive qualitative approach supported by questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents and a review of relevant literature, this study examines their digital consumption behavior, use of online platforms for entrepreneurship, and engagement in technology-based economic opportunities. The findings show that Generation Z plays a significant role in driving the modernization of economic activities through the intensive use of e-commerce, digital payments, fintech services, and creative activities on social media. They increasingly engage in content creation, online selling, and personal branding as alternative economic pathways. However, the study also highlights several challenges, including uneven advanced digital literacy, impulsive online spending, mental health pressures associated with constant digital exposure, and the need for continuous skill adaptation in response to automation and artificial intelligence. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening digital literacy, entrepreneurship skills, financial awareness, and mental well-being to support their sustainable contribution to the digital economy.

Abstract

Universities are required to develop learning models that support effective learning processes and ensure student satisfaction. Medan State University has implemented a block system that organizes learning into intensive periods focusing on a single course at a time. This study aims to determine the effect of the block system on student satisfaction in the Management Department, Faculty of Economics. This research employed a quantitative approach using a structured questionnaire distributed to 50 students who participated in block-system learning. The instrument was validated and tested for reliability before use. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and simple linear regression after fulfilling classical assumption tests. The results show that all questionnaire items were valid and reliable, and the regression model met the assumptions of normality, homoscedasticity, and non-autocorrelation. Regression analysis indicates that the block system has a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction, expressed in the equation Y = 2.817 + 1.013X. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.859) demonstrates that the block system explains 85.9% of the variation in student satisfaction. These findings confirm that the block system contributes meaningfully to improving focus, comprehension, and learning experience, which lead to higher satisfaction among Management students at Medan State University.

Abstract

This research explores how content marketing on Instagram and TikTok differs in its ability to shape the brand image of Dimsum Mentai BityBite in Pematang Siantar. Although both platforms are commonly utilized by culinary MSMEs, studies that directly compare their influence on brand perception are still scarce. To fill this gap, the study evaluates the performance of identical content uploaded on both platforms and examines how each medium contributes to audience engagement and the formation of brand impressions. Adopting a qualitative case study design, data were obtained through direct observation of two matched posts on Instagram and TikTok, supported by in-depth interviews with the business owner. Indicators of engagement such as the number of views, likes, comments, and shares were analyzed to understand user responses and the visibility generated by each platform. The findings indicate that TikTok delivers a wider reach and stronger interaction, largely due to its recommendation-driven algorithm and the appeal of concise, fast-paced videos. These features help accelerate public awareness and reinforce the image of a contemporary, trend-oriented brand. In contrast, Instagram offers greater advantages for maintaining consistent visual identity, fostering communication, and building long-term consumer trust. Its features allow the brand to sustain relational closeness and a stable identity. Overall, the study highlights that both platforms possess unique yet complementary strengths: TikTok is more effective for broad exposure and initial engagement, while Instagram supports loyalty and lasting brand attachment. Therefore, combining the advantages of both platforms can create a more effective and balanced strategy for brand development.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has reshaped consumer behavior, especially among students who are highly familiar with online platforms. This study examines how the development of e-commerce influences the transformation of consumption patterns among students at Widya Mandira Catholic University, Kupang. Using a descriptiveexploratory approach supported by survey data, the research explores the level of adoption, purchasing preferences, and behavioral changes that emerge as students increasingly rely on digital shopping platforms. The findings show that e-commerce has become deeply embedded in students’ daily activities, with most respondents indicating a strong preference for online shopping due to accessibility, flexible payment options, and the appeal of promotions and discounts. Reviews and product ratings also play a decisive role in shaping purchasing decisions, reflecting the growing importance of social validation in digital consumption. Alongside these benefits, the study identifies several behavioral shifts, including more frequent purchases, a tendency toward impulsive buying, and challenges in controlling expenses. Despite this, many students report maintaining awareness of these tendencies and attempting to manage their online shopping more responsibly. Overall, the study highlights that e-commerce is not only a practical tool for fulfilling daily needs but also a significant force driving changes in consumption habits among university students in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the factors that influence students of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung in deciding to use e-wallets as a means of digital payment. The rapid growth of cashless transactions among young users has raised questions about what drives their adoption of digital financial services. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved 30 third-semester students of the Sharia Accounting Study Program selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaire items distributed via Google Forms, allowing respondents to describe their experiences, motivations, and perceptions regarding e-wallet usage. The findings show that the level of e-wallet utilization among students is notably high, with DANA emerging as the most widely used application. Students’ decisions are influenced mainly by ease of use, fast transaction processes, promotional offers, and social encouragement from peers. Perceptions of security are generally positive, supported by features such as PIN and OTP verification, although several respondents still expect improvements to prevent data breaches. Students also view e-wallets as more practical for small, daily transactions, while digital banking services are considered more suitable for saving or conducting larger transactions. Overall, the study highlights that e-wallets play a significant role in shaping students’ financial behavior by offering convenience, efficiency, and accessible digital financial tools that align with their everyday needs.

Abstract

Culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia face increasingly intense competition driven by shifting consumer preferences and rapid digital adoption. These dynamics highlight the need for a structured marketing approach. This study aims to examine how Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning (STP) strategies shape consumer purchasing behavior among culinary MSMEs operating in urban areas. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with MSME owners and consumers, direct field observations, and supporting documentation. The analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings show that MSMEs predominantly apply geographic and behavioral segmentation, focusing on consumers residing near the business location and those who actively rely on digital platforms for food purchases. Targeting strategies are directed mainly toward millennials and Generation Z, who demonstrate strong digital engagement and high purchasing frequency. Product positioning emphasizes authentic taste and the use of local ingredients, which strengthen consumer perceptions of value and encourage repeat purchases. The study concludes that integrating STP with digital media enhances visibility, accelerates decision-making, and contributes to stronger consumer loyalty, making it a vital strategy for sustaining culinary MSMEs in a competitive marketplace.
