Abstract

Writing scientific papers is an important skill for all students in undergoing their education at schools and continuing their studies at universities. The skills to write scientific works are needed by the students in delivering their ideas scientifically and responsibly. Unfortunately, there are not many schools that equip their students to understand the importance of scientific writing skills and how to implement them properly so that the students experience difficulties in carrying out various tasks in writing scientific papers, both at the school levels and in the next stages of their higher education. The purpose of the scientific writing training conducted in the study was to provide an understanding of the importance of having scientific writing skills and helping Dian Harapan Daan Mogot high school students to have basic skills in writing scientific papers. This activity included an explanation of the materials of writing scientific papers and a training on writing scientific papers. The data were collected using the tests and questionnaires given to 58 students. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and the mean comparisons were tested through the Wilcoxon test. The results of this activity have indicated that the training provided can improve the students' scientific writing skills significantly.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship Develeopment Program (Pengembangan Kewirausahaan - PPK) at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) aims to produce entrepreneurs who come from UAD students and alumni. This program is expected to produce new entrepreneurs with information technology as competitive advantage. The design of PPK UAD used Experiental Learning Method (ELM). This approach broadly gives treatment to students to get the experience, competence and basic character of entrepreneurs. This program is carried out by UAD lecturers and involves business practitioners and other institutions as well as the business community outside Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Business practitioner partnets come from the financial, food, creative and information technology industries. The program also involved several business communities in Yogyakarta such as the Muhammadiyah and JCI Network. The implementation of PPK UAD includes management training and business expertise for tenants, especially in mastering IT business model and e commerce. In addition, internship to companies is also held as a benchmark of industry of each tenant. Tenants also receive business assistance and marketing facilities. PPK UAD activities in 2018 were followed by 20 tenants which were selected from 43 registrants. Tenant comes from PKM students, active students who pioneered new businesses and alumni. PPK UAD 2018 resulted in 5 new entrepreneur graduates ready to run the business. This new entrepreneur consists of 2 tenants who are very prepared with competitive advantages and 3 tenants who are ready to start new businesses.Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Program Pengembangan Kewirausahaan (PPK) di Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) bertujuan mencetak wirausaha yang berasal dari kalangan mahasiswa dan alumni UAD berbasis information technology (IT). Program ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan wirausaha baru dengan teknologi informasi sebagai basis competitive advantage. Desain pelaksanaan PPK UAD menggunakan pendekatan metode Experimental Learning (EL). Pendekatan ini secara garis besar memberi treatment kepada mahasiswa untuk mendapat pengalaman, kompetensi dan karakter dasar entrepreneur. Program ini dilaksanakan oleh dosen UAD serta melibatkan praktisi bisnis dan institusi lain serta komunitas bisnis di luar Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Praktisi bisnis berasal dari industri keuangan, pangan, kreatif dan teknologi informasi. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga melibatkan beberapa komunitas bisnis di Yogyakarta seperti Jaringan Saudagar Muhammadiyah dan JCI. Aplikasi nyata dari PPK UAD antara lain berbentuk pelatihan manajemen dan keahlian bisnis bagi tenant terutama dalam penguasaan sistem business model dan pemasaran berbasis IT.  Selain itu, diadakan pula pemagangan pada perusahaan yang menjadi benchmark pada industri masing-masing tenant. Tenant juga mendapat pendampingan usaha dan fasilitas pemasaran produk. Kegiatan PPK UAD tahun 2018 diikuti 20 tenant yang merupakan hasil seleksi dari 43 pendaftar. Tenant berasal dari kalangan mahasiswa PKM, mahasiswa aktif yang merintis usaha baru serta alumni. Program Pengembangan Kewirausahan PPK UAD tahun 2018 menghasilkan 5 lulusan wirausahawan baru yang siap menjalankan bisnis. Wirausahawan baru ini terdiri dari 2 tenant yang sangat siap dengan competitive advantage dan 3 tenant yang siap merintis usaha baru.Kata kunci: Kewirausahaan, Inkubasi Bisnis, Competitive Advantage, Information Technology

Abstract

Industry 4.0 era needs to introduce current information communication and technology (ICT) to the society starting from the elementary school. However, Mekarsari Elementary school does not have the facility nor curriculum to prepare the students to face the era. This corporate social responsibility (CSR) aimed to introduce the kids with the current development of hardware and software. The participants for the series of the workshop are the 15 4th and 5th grade students and two teachers from Mekarsari Elementary school. The intervention was devised by providing user-friendly teaching-learning materials with hands-on activities related to the current development of ICT. The type of study is the “direct philanthropic giving” because it aims at providing knowledge for free. As the result, the students are familiar with: the type of computer’s hardware and software; python programming; budgeting for their daily allowance using Microsoft Excel; and creating a short story and presentation in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Based on the survey, the students could comprehend and enthusiastic to complete the hands-on activities. This CSR suggests that each elementary school should have a curriculum and computer laboratory to prepare the youth to compete in industry 4.0 era.

Abstract

Leather shoe is the main attraction for consumers to protect and support the fashion. Relating to its fact, Resi 86 Safety Shoes is a business that carries intensive labor system which profit based socio-preneur of local communities in Pogot Surabaya. The issues of leather shoe craftsmen community in Pogot Surabaya are business no innovation ability, difficulty in finding qualify leather raw materials, passively and conventionally marketing. With such of issues, a lot of shoe craftsmen in Pogot Surabaya move to another job as the main job while the leather shoes craftmen as side job. Resi 86 Safety Shoes educate people in Pogot area by choosing or selecting raw materials and leather quality type according to SNI standard, designing a custom pattern and provide e-commerce in order to expand the product marketing. The result of labor-intensive application as sociopreneurship are: 1) creating a new product innovation and developing the resource potential for partner because the custom  system offere so that products are more innovative and creative, 2) providing high quality raw materials as the production capital 3) The products can be known by the public. Thus, as the economic turnaround, it is capable to move the economic potential that can be enjoyed by   the various parties involved.

Abstract

Housing and business centers are growing rapidly in the urban area. This causes agricultural land and other green lands increasingly narrow due to land conversion. One area affected by land conversion is Lengkong Kulon Village, Tangerang Regency, where most of the agricultural land has been turned into a residential area and business center. This condition has an impact on food availability which is getting lower and environmental quality is declining. To overcome these problems, Surya University, supported by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), organized community service activities by pioneering sustainable green villages and adequate nutrition through vertical farming. This program was implemented by the workshop and participatory community. The number of participants involved in this activity was more than 25 people from youth groups concerned about the environment, PKK members, and university students. This activity consisted of three stages: Community awareness building, Vertical and organic farming training, and Providing vertical farming equipment assistance packages. The result of this community service showed that participants knowledge about organic farming and vertical farming increased from 26% to 86% and from 11% to 72%, respectively. In addition, the level of community skills to apply organic farming systems also increased from 15% to 80%, and for vertical farming increased from 7% to 60%. This activity is expected to improve environmental conditions as well as food access for target communities through consumption of sufficients vegetables and fruits grown using the vertical farming system. Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Abstrak Pesatnya pembangunan komplek perumahan dan pusat bisnis di perkotaan telah menyebabkan semakin sempitnya lahan pertanian dan lahan hijau lainnya akibat alih fungsi lahan. Salah satu wilayah yang terkena dampak alih fungsi lahan adalah Kampung Lengkong Kulon, Desa Lengkong Kulon, Kabupaten Tangerang di mana sebagian besar lahan pertaniannya telah berubah menjadi kawasan perumahan dan pusat bisnis. Kondisi ini telah berimplikasi pada ketersediaan pangan yang semakin rendah serta kualitas lingkungan yang menurun. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, Universitas Surya yang didukung oleh Kementristekdikti menyelenggarakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan tema rintisan kampung hijau lestari dan cukup gizi melalui vertical farming. Program ini dilaksanakan menggunakan model workshop dan participatory community. Jumlah peserta yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini yaitu lebih dari 25 orang, yang berasal dari kelompok pemuda peduli lingkungan, ibu-ibu PKK, anggota posyandu, serta kelompok mahasiswa. Tahapan kegiatan ini meliputi pembangunan kesadaran masyarakat (community awareness), pelatihan vertical farming dan pertanian organik, serta pemberian paket bantuan peralatan vertical farming. Hasil evaluasi pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pertanian organik dari semula hanya 26% menjadi 86%, sedangkan untuk vertical farming dari semula 11% meningkat menjadi 72%. Tingkat keterampilan masyarakat untuk menerapkan sistem pertanian organik juga meningkat dari semula hanya 15% menjadi 80%, sementara untuk untuk vertical farming dari semula 7% meningkat menjadi 60%. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memperbaiki kondisi lingkungan serta adanya peningkatan akses pangan bagi masyarakat sasaran melalui konsumsi sayuran dan buahbuahan yang cukup, yang ditanam menggunakan sistem vertical farming.

Abstract

AbstractBackground, excessive exploitation of paddy land in the long term without the addition of organic matter have resulted in soil become damaged. To meet the needs of food (rice) healthy and improve the functioning of the land, then there is no best alternative except development of organic farming systems. To be able to implement a system of organic farming, it is necessary to institute internal quality assurance. Internal Control System for the establishment of needed care and support of various Stakeholders, Universities and the Institute for Certification of organic products. To realize the organic product certification program, so it will need the presence of the CSR programs of various Stakeholders and Businesses. The purpose, carry out assistance to Farmers and Farmers Group in the establishment of the ICS and the acquisition of organic certification. The method, is Focus Group Discussion which emphasizes dialogue interpersosnal and mentoring. Results, an increasing number of farmers' groups who implement the organic certification of 4 (four) farmer groups (40,59Ha) to 10 farmer groups (132,241Ha). In conclusion, most members of the Farmers Group Al-Barokah have felt: (a) the benefit of the treatment of organic in terms of soil quality and the products of organic rice and its by-products, (b) an increase in value-added organic products and farmers' income, (c) the importance of maintaining paddy according to its function, (d) have become independent farmers in organic rice cultivation.Keywords:  Organic farming systems, Organic certification, Interpersonal dialogue, Corporation Social Responsibility (CSR)AbstrakLatar belakang, eksploitasi tanah sawah yang berlebihan dalam jangka waktu lama tanpa penambahan bahan organik telah mengakibatkan tanah menjadi rusak. Untuk mencukupi kebutuhan pangan (padi) yang sehat dan meningkatkan fungsi tanah, maka tidak ada alternatif terbaik kecuali pengembangan sistem pertanian organik.  Untuk dapat melaksanakan sistem pertanian organik, maka diperlukan lembaga penjaminan mutu internal. Untuk pembentukan Internal Control Sistem diperlukan adanya kepedulian dan dukungan dari berbagai pemangku kebijakan, Perguruan Tinggi dan Lembaga Sertifikasi produk organik. Untuk mewujudkan program sertifikasi produk organik, maka sangat diperlukan keberadaan program CSR dari berbagai pemangku kepentingan dan pelaku bisnis. Tujuan, melaksanakan pendampingan terhadap Kelompok Tani dan Gabungan Kelompok Tani dalam pembentukan ICS dan perolehan sertifikasi organik. Metode, FGD yang mengedepankan dialog interpersosnal, pendampingan. Hasil, terjadi peningkatan jumlah kelompok tani yang melaksanakan sertifikasi organik dari 4 (empat) kelompok tani (luas 40,59Ha) menjadi 10 kelompok tani  (132,241Ha). Simpulan, sebagian besar anggota Gabungan Kelompok Tani Al-Barokah telah merasakan: (a) manfaatan perlakuan organik dari segi kualitas tanah dan produk padi organik serta produk sampingannya, (b) adanya peningkatan nilai tambah produk organik dan pendapatan petani, (c) pentingnya mempertahankan sawah sesuai fungsinya, (d) telah menjadi petani yang merdeka dalam budidaya padi organik.Kata kunci:  Sistem pertanian organik,  Sertifikasi organik, Dialog interpersonal, Corporation Social Responsibility (CSR)

Abstract

Institute of Dharma Keuskupan Agung Jakarta is a community that serves the poor and oppressed in the Jakarta area and beyond. One of the services provided is through the existence of the same Mission to teach residents to be diligent in saving. Currently the manager uses Microsoft Excel to process data 30 groups with 370 cooperative members manually, and this method takes a lot of time and labor. To help solve these problems, a cooperative information system was created that could process data and provide information quickly for cooperative managers using Microsoft Access. The system design is done by the Prototyping method, one of the Systems Development Life Cycle methods, which consists of four stages. The first, the Planning: system requirements are determined and a feasibility study is carried out. The second, the Analysis: functional and non-functional requirements are defined and behavior modeling is carried out. The third, the Design: the interface layer is designed. The fourth, the Implementation: the proposed system program is run and tested. The information system is made capable of receiving financial data input, members, and cooperative groups and then provide information on financial reports, book closing reports, and statistical reports automatically. The application has been tested by the cooperative manager and declared successful in providing information quickly, accurately and easily.Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Lembaga Daya Dharma Keuskupan Agung Jakarta merupakan sebuah komunitas yang melayani warga miskin dan tertindas di daerah Jakarta dan sekitarnya. Salah satu pelayanan yang diberikan adalah melalui adanya koperasi Misi Sama untuk mengajar warga untuk rajin menabung. Saat ini pengelola menggunakan Microsoft Excel untuk mengolah data 30 kelompok dengan 370 anggota koperasi secara manual, dan cara tersebut memakan banyak waktu dan tenaga kerja. Untuk membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut, dibuatkan sebuah sistem informasi koperasi yang dapat mengolah data dan memberikan informasi dengan cepat bagi pengelola koperasi dengan menggunakan Microsoft Access. Perancangan sistem dilakukan dengan metode Prototyping, salah satu metode Systems Development Life Cycle, yang terdiri dari empat tahap. Tahap pertama, Planning: kebutuhan sistem ditentukan dan studi kelayakan dilakukan. Tahap kedua, Analysis: kebutuhan fungsional dan non-fungsional didefinisikan dan permodelan perilaku dilakukan. Tahap ketiga, Design: dilakukan perancangan lapisan antarmuka. Tahap keempat, Implementation: program sistem usulan dijalankan dan diuji coba. Sistem informasi yang dibuat mampu menerima input data keuangan, anggota, dan kelompok koperasi kemudian memberikan informasi laporan keuangan, laporan penutupan buku, dan laporan statistik secara otomatis. Aplikasi telah diuji coba oleh pengelola koperasi dan dinyatakan berhasil memberikan informasi dengan cepat, akurat dan mudah.

Abstract

One of government efforts to deliver educational equity in society is conduct education equality program. Center of community learning (PKBM), an institution created by community or society that having management principle: by, from and for society. Two PKBM named P. Diponegoro and Bangunmulya are example of PKBM in Sleman District. Main problems faced by P Diponeforo and Bangunmulya PKBM are lacked of tutor or trainer to teaching life skills for student in PKBM even though life skills are important materials in addition to formal knowledge. The considerations why PKBM should teach life skill for student because they are easy to learn, less funding, short time to learn and marketable. The offer solutions for faced problems are conduct training activities such as : 1) utilization computer as aids to create and design creative products having economic value; 2) using of graphic design software to create and design mugs and pins cover; 3) Optimization Internet as promotion media; 4) Increasing entrepreneurial spirit in Internet Era; 5) Management and utilization of PKBM website. In addition to life skill training, PKBM website is developed to be information and promotion media for product made by PKBM students also as communication media between administrator, students and society. The outcome form this program are : 1) increase of student knowledge about informatics roles to create and design economic value products; 2) Bangunmulya PKBM students able to using CorelDraw software for create and design batik graphics and print it into mug media using sublime printer; 3)P Diponegoro PKBM students able to using CorelDraw software for create and design graphics and print it using printer press machine; 5) PKBM students are inspired from successful entrepreneurs that using web and social media in the business; and 6) availability of website as promotion and communication media between management, students and society.

Abstract

Packaging has a very important role to increase shelf life and the economic value of food products. In addition, packaging is able to attract attention of consumers so that they are interested in buying these food products. The purpose of this community service activity is that teachers and students of SMK Negeri 3 Pahungga Lodu are able to independently design packaging stickers for seaweed stick products. The method included giving materials, training in packaging design by using microsoft power point, making stick products, and accompanying of teachers and students. The results of the community service activity are in the form of seaweed stick products, knowledges and skills to produce packaging stickers for seaweed stick products. This community service activity received a positive response from teachers and students of SMK Negeri 3 Pahunga Lodu in the form of knowledge about the manufacture of seaweed stick products and attractive packaging sticker designs for seaweed stick products.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Kemasan memiliki peranan yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan umur simpan dan menambah nilai ekonomis pada produk pangan. Selain itu, kemasan juga mampu menarik perhatian konsumen sehingga konsumen tertarik untuk membeli produk pangan tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah guru dan siswa mampu membuat desain stiker kemasan secara mandiri untuk produk stik rumput laut yang dihasilkan oleh SMK Negeri 3 Pahungga Lodu. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini meliputi: pemberian materi, pelatihan desain kemasan menggunakan Microsoft Power Point, tahap pembuatan produk stik, dan pendampingan pada guru dan siswa. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah berupa produk stik rumput laut, pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menghasilkan desain stiker kemasan untuk produk stik rumput laut. Kegiatan pengabdian ini mendapatkan respon positif dari guru dan siswa SMK Negeri 3 Pahunga Lodu berupa pengetahuan tentang pembuatan produk stik rumput laut dan desain stiker kemasan yang menarik untuk produk stik rumput laut.

Abstract

Singabangsa Village, Tenjo is a village located in Tenjo district, Bogor regency, West Java. The population of Singabangsa village recorded  in 2015 was 3,998. 2,002 residents were women who mostly worked as housewives, and they were categorized as underprivileged inhabitant. As the result, a program is needed for the empowerment of women so that standard living of family can be improved. The program carried out was development of honey bee farming business. The objectives of this program are to create a more independent farmer group by empowering women and be able to produce products in accordance to consumers’ preference.  This program began in February 2017, and it was divided into several stages. The initial stage was an introductory stage where the participants were explained about basic knowledge regarding honey bee cultivation, bee farm, and its equipment. The later stage was the implementation, where at this stage the participlants were asked to perform the knowledge that has been learned. At the last stage, the participants were given information about processing stages of harvested products. It is hoped that through the stages of socialization program, the Singabangsa’s Honey Bee Farmers group, Tenjo, can manage their honey bee farm independently. Harvesing of honey is done every 3 months with an average production yield of 3 kg honey/colony. The honey products is used for individual needs as a supplementary to family nutrient intake, and they are also packed in a bottle of 250 ml as an addition to family’s income.
