Abstract

Abstract Hi-Link program of Community Service is a form of cooperation between the Director General of Higher Education, Polytechnic of Malang, the Government Bondowoso and Partners Farmers Group. This program aims to improve the economic growth of rural communities Karangmelok Bondowoso, and realized through an increase in the production of solid organic fertilizer. Increased production requires innovative production equipment, application of research results, and application management of natural resources. Quality and increased production of solid organic fertilizer is highly dependent role of microbioactivator that rely on local knowledge. Research methods and application made directly to members of farmer groups Karangmelok village. Results of monitoring and evaluation of performance indicators showed a significant increase from the first year to third year. Keywords: Hi-Link program, agriculture, solid organic fertilizer, micro-bioactivator AbstrakProgram Hi-Link Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat merupakan bentuk kerjasama antara Dirjen Dikti, Politeknik Negeri Malang, Pemerintah Kabupaten Bondowoso dan Mitra Kelompok Tani. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat desa Karangmelok Kabupaten Bondowoso, dan diwujudkan melalui peningkatan produksi pupuk organik padat. Peningkatan produksi membutuhkan inovasi peralatan produksi, penerapan hasil penelitian, dan penerapan manajemen pengelolaan sumber daya alamnya. Kwalitas dan peningkatan produksi pupuk organik padat sangat tergantung peran mikro-bioaktivator yang mengandalkan kearifan lokal. Metode penelitian dan penerapan dilakukan langsung pada anggota kelompok tani desa Karangmelok. Hasil monitoring dan evaluasi menunjukkan indikator kinerja mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan dari tahun pertama hingga tahun ketiga.Kata kunci: Program Hi-Link, pertanian, pupuk organik padat, mikro-bioaktivato

Abstract

Disaster Preparedness School (SSB) is an effort to build school preparedness against disasters in order to raise awareness of all elements in the education sector both individually and collectively in schools and the school environment before, during, and after a disaster occurs. The training was conducted at Widuri PAUD located in Kubang Welut Village, Ciwandan Sub-District, Cilegon City. Method of training is simulations. Simulations in disaster management can measure and improve one's readiness in facing of disasters. In this training needed the support of principals, teachers, staff, and all parties in the school and active participation of all students. There are two stages in this exercise and simulations. First, to learn about the threat of danger, to find out whether schools are safe from the threat of earthquake disasters. According to the circumstances and location of each school, students must learn, pay attention to the situation and location of the school guide by the teacher. Second, disaster simulation training, to increase knowledge about ways to do early warning and rescue when a disaster occurs. Simulation exercises is to shape attitudes, togetherness, cohesiveness, and mutual help. In this exercise the teacher, the staff, parents are guided to increase the awareness and develop skills of students in rescuing in the moment of disaster. In order for the simulation to succeed well, this exercise needs to be planned, prepared, carried out, and evaluated repeatedly.Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Sekolah Siaga Bencana (SSB) merupakan upaya membangun kesiapsiagaan sekolah terhadap bencana dalam rangka menggugah kesadaran seluruh unsur-unsur dalam bidang pendidikan baik individu maupun kolektif di sekolah dan lingkungan sekolah baik itu sebelum, saat, maupun setelah bencana terjadi. Kegiatan pelatihan siaga bencana pada anak-anak ini dilakukan di PAUD Widuri yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Kubang Welut, Kecamatan Ciwandan, Kota Cilegon. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah dengan simulasi. Simulasi di dalam manajemen bencana dapat mengukur dan meningkatkan kesiapan seseorang dalam menghadapi bencana. Dalam pelatihan ini diperlukan dukungan kepala sekolah, guru, staf, dan semua pihak di lingkungan sekolah dan partisipasi aktif siswa. Ada dua tahap dalam latihan dan simulasi ini. Pertama, menyampaikan materi kepada para guru tentang ancaman bahaya, untuk mengetahui apakah sekolah aman dari ancaman bahaya bencana gempa bumi. Sesuai keadaan dan lokasi sekolah, siswa/i agar dapat belajar, memperhatikan keadaan dan lokasi sekolah dengan bimbingan para guru. Kedua, latihan simulasi menghadapi bencana: untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang cara-cara melakukan peringatan dini dan penyelamatan ketika terjadi bencana. Latihan simulasi bertujuan untuk membentuk sikap, kebersamaan, kekompakan dan saling tolong menolong. Dalam latihan ini dibimbing oleh guru, staf, dan orang tua untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan siswa dalam melakukan penyelamatan bila terjadi bencana. Agar latihan simulai dapat berhasil dengan baik, maka latihan perlu direncanakan, dipersiapkan, dilaksanakan, dan dievaluasi secara berulang-ulang.

Abstract

Women are the mobilizer in managing health and improving family economy. Women's participation in the economic field is one indicator of increasing welfare. When women have independent income, this is a sign of increased household welfare. It needs to empower women to manage family health and income. The purpose of dedication is 1) the empowerment of women in managing the health and family economy, 2) describe the results of women's empowerment in managing family health and family economy. The activity was held in Bukit Agung Village, Kerinci Kanan District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The method used is survey and interview method. The technique of selecting the participants is done by purposive sampling that is the farmer who received the fish assistance from Indosawit Subur company. The results of this activity showed that after training there was an increase of knowledge about the benefits of consuming fish (80%), processing fish into nuggets and fish meatballs (80%), nugget and fishballs (80%), and fish (60%) . After being trained, participants have used fish not only fried, grilled and burned but have been able to make fish nuggets and fish meatballs for family consumption.Keywords: empowerment, women, health, economy.

Abstract

The research method is the most essential element in conducting scientific research. Teachers need to master scientific research methods as a prerequisite for writing scientific papers, which are part of improving teachers' quality and professionalism. In addition, scientific research and publications are requirements for applications for promotion of functional ranks and government teacher certification. The aim of this workshop is to help teachers understand quantitative and qualitative research methods. The workshop is carried out through class discussions with the participants. The speaker first presented the material, then continued with a simple guided exercise in the class discussion. The data from the workshop were collected by means of tests to see the participants' understanding of the material and a questionnaire to see the usefulness of the workshop given. Based on the survey results, it was found that this research method workshop was well understood and beneficial to teachers.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Metode penelitian menjadi elemen yang sangat penting dalam membuat penelitian ilmiah. Para guru perlu menguasi metode penelitian ilmiah sebagai bekal menulis karya ilmiah yang termasuk salah satu upaya peningkatan kualitas profesionalisme guru. Lebih lagi, penelitian ilmiah dan publikasi merupakan syarat pengajuan kenaikan jabatan fungsional guru serta sertifikasi. Tujuan dari workshop ini adalah untuk membantu para guru untuk memiliki pengetahuan mengenai metode penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Workshop dilakukan melalui diskusi kelas dengan peserta. Pembicara terlebih dahulu mempresentasikan materi, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan latihan terbimbing sederhana dalam diskusi kelas. Data hasil workshop dikumpulkan melalui tes untuk melihat pemahaman peserta terhadap materi dan angket untuk melihat kegunaan workshop yang diberikan. Berdasarkan survey angket, diketahui bahwa workshop metode penelitian ini dapat dipahami dengan baik dianggap bermanfaat bagi para guru.

Abstract

 AbstractCollaborative design known as co-design is a design method that enables many stakeholders (designer, manufacturer, and users) to collaborate each other. This paper tries to study how the co-design method is applied to a commutiy service design project collaborating product design student 2013 batch collaborating with Peusar Artisans Community. From the study can be suggested that this methodology is fit to design process on the stage of discover and develop, through interview, forum group discussion and collaborative workshop to reduce the social culture background differences. Means of communication proven effective to be used in co-design are drawing and product sample. This method is proven to be very helpful for product design student because, it obliged the student to interact directly with the artisans, more empathy can yield better design outcome. Abstract

Guidance and assistance in learning are necessary for every child, whether it is for the students who have attended school or not. Most of the parents who live in the Bonang area can not fulfill this activity. Parents who have not be able to accompany their children in learning after school are caused several factors, namely cognitive inability of parents, the busyness of parents in work, and the inability of parents economically to send their children to learning center, and some are even do not trust some learning center. Mathematics education students are prepared in the field of school mathematics teaching and learning expertise. For them, this activity is a valuable opportunity to gain teaching experience, as well as learning to implement the theories that have been learned, both in terms of pedagogy and mathematics. The purpose of this community is as a place to synchronize students’ need to implement their learning practices with the needs of schoolchildren around Bonang. The activity is in the form of assistance at one of the residents’ houses in Bonang. The benefits of this assistance activity are felt by all parties, schoolchildren as learning participants receive learning guidance in terms of cognitive and character, parents who are assisted and feel happy to see children's development in education, and the tutors can directly learn to implement knowledge and practice teaching.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Bimbingan dan pendampingan belajar diperlukan oleh setiap anak, baik yang bersekolah maupun yang tidak bersekolah. Kegiatan tersebut belum dapat dipenuhi oleh sebagian besar orang tua yang berdomisili di daerah Bonang. Orang tua yang belum dapat mendampingi anak-anaknya dalam belajar sepulang sekolah disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yaitu ketidakmampuan orang tua secara kognitif, kesibukan orang tua dalam bekerja dan ketidakmampuan orang tua secara ekonomi untuk mengikutsertakan anaknya di dalam bimbingan belajar yang bersifat komersial, bahkan ada yang kurang percaya pada bimbingan belajar tertentu. Mahasiswa pendidikan matematika dipersiapkan pada bidang keahlian belajar mengajar matematika sekolah. Bagi mahasiswa, kegiatan tersebut merupakan kesempatan yang berharga untuk mendapatkan pengalaman mengajar, sekaligus belajar untuk mengimplementasikan teori yang sudah dipelajari, baik dari segi pedagogy maupun keilmuan matematika. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah sebagai wadah untuk mensinkronisasikan kebutuhan mahasiswa untuk mengimplementasikan praktik pembelajaran mereka dengan kebutuhan anak sekolah di sekitar Bonang. Adapun kegiatan bimbingan belajar tersebut diselenggarakan di rumah salah satu warga di Bonang. Manfaat kegiatan bimbingan belajar ini dirasakan oleh semua pihak, anak-anak sekolah sebagai peserta belajar mendapatkan bimbingan belajar dari segi koginitif dan karakter, orangtua yang terbantukan dan merasa bahagia melihat perkembangan anak dalam pendidikan dan mahasiswa pendidikan matematika yang menjadi tutor dapat secara langsung belajar mengimplementasikan ilmu dan praktek mengajarnya.

Abstract

Background of Community Service activities on health education is to provide understanding for senior high school students who are in the age range of adolescents. In the adolescent age group tend to have an unstable personality, very susceptible to negative environmental impact, drug use, and free sex behavior. Health education is a preventive action that needs to be done by various parties to fight against drug use and free sex among adolescents. The purpose of this evaluation is to get constructive feedback from students to improve the quality of the implementation of community service for the next period. Evaluation of the implementation of community service was distributed to the students through the existing evaluation form. The evaluation instrument consists of seven statements using a Likert scale. This scale consists of five options of answers with a score range of 1-5, which is very satisfied (score 5), satisfied (score 4), quite satisfied (score 3), dissatisfied (score 2), very dissatisfied (score 1). The population of activity evaluation was 133 senior high school students at Institution X in Tangerang, sample took by total sampling technique. Data analysis was used univariate analysis. Evaluation of the process of community service activity was obtained the result that time and place of execution can be executed according the plan, but the target numbers were exceed target, that was initially only first grade student only, then become increasing grade 2 and 3 because the material is important, so the total number of participants became 133 students. The evaluation of the process of community service activity is focused on the students' perception on the content of the activity material, which consists of seven components: the conformity of the topic / material with the needs, material conformity and the purpose of counseling, the benefit of the topic / material for the participants, the achievement of the target of the extension program, the efficiency of the use of extension time, and the method of delivery of extension materials used. The results of the assessment of the seven components are between 84.4% - 96.6% (satisfied - very satisfied). It can be concluded that the activity of community service is running well.

Abstract

The resident of Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit consists of various segments of society. Most of the male work as laborers, only some people that work as government employees. Most of the female in Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit help her husband by being a laundry worker, selling cookies and domestic helpers. Many of them do not work. In terms of economic level, most of the population is in middle until lower economic levels. The Conditions was motivate the team of community service to add skills in entrepreneurship at Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit, one of them by developing entrepreneurial spirit in the plantation sector to some communities in Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit. The product of this plantation can be used for self-consumption, even for sale, considering the high price of hydroponic vegetables. Therefore, the team of community service is motivated to provide information on appropriate technology in the form of information delivery, training and skill enhancement in hydroponic gardening that is to grow plants with water as the media, to obtain new superior product from Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit, i.e. the hydroponic fresh vegetable product . In addition, the community will provide knowledge on the marketing strategies so that the vegetables can be marketed to consumers. Thus, community service activities can form a productive society, self-reliant, high performing, have strong economic strength and improving the welfare of people living standards.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Cemara mempunyai bahan baku berupa daun kelor tetapi tidak mempunyai teknologi pengolahan, sedangkan tim PkM Jurusan Teknologi Pangan UPH mempunyai teknologi pengolahan daun Kelor.  Tujuan dari PkM yang dilakukan adalah untuk mengajarkan dan melatih KWT Cemara mengenai teknologi pengolahan daun kelor hingga dapat diaplikasikan menjadi produk minuman instan. Metode yang digunakan dalam PkM adalah metode sistem pembelajaran dengan partisipasi aktif (PALS = Partisipatory Action Learning System). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa KWT Cemara mampu mempelajari teknologi pembuatan minuman instan daun kelor dan dapat mengembangkan menjadi produk yang siap dijual.

Abstract

Three theories in educational psychology: (1) Flow (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi), (2) Grit (Angela Duckworth), dan (3) Growth mindset (Carol Dweck) open the possibility for fun learning. Flow according to Csikszentmihalyi happens when the challenge in an activity is balanced with the necessary skill, so that one can experience flow during the activity. This feeling of flow is actually what makes learning fun. The concept of grit consists of two components: (1) perseverance and (2) passion for long term goals. Duckworth discovered that grit can predict success better than mere intellect (IQ). Growth mindset is a psychological state where one is not afraid to look stupid and therefore is more open to challenges because he/she focuses more on the learning process rather than momentary results. In the workshop in one private school in Tangerang, the three concepts were explained with concrete examples from movies and other illustrations. Furthermore, we did a demonstration in optical physics with simple equipments to simulate natural phenomena: A rainbow, the red evening sky, and laser deflection due to refractive index difference. Pre-test and post-test results after the fun learning workshop show that the concept of flow and grit is easier to comprehend by the teachers than growth mindset. After the workshop, there is an increase in the opinion that math and physic lessons can also be fun.
