Abstract

Sosis solo is a traditional food from Solo which is made from an omelette with meat filling. Sosis solo usually served as snacks in various events. In Solo there are many Small and medium enterprise (SME) producing sosis solo, one of them is SME Sosis Gajahan.  The SME has been developing and know the opportunity that sosis solo as a typical food from Solo, has the potential to be developed as typical Solo gift. However, there are problems faced by these SME, namely 1) the packaging is not attractive and has not been labeled in accordance with the requirements of the food industry and 2) the shelf life of sosis solo is short, less than 24 hours. The aims of the community service activity were to improve the packaging of the sosis solo so that increasing the seelling value. To overcome these problems, had been did 1) improvement of packaging and labeling, and 2) introduction of vacuum packaging to package the sosis solo so that the shelf life is longer. The results obtained from the activity are the better new packaging designs for sosis solo and more attractive so that it increasing the selling value of sosis solo. Sosis solo packaged with a vacuum method followed by cold storage has longer shelf life. It has an impact on wider marketing reach.

Abstract

This community service was held for students at Ora et Labora Senior High School in Tangerang, who needed education in using and making organic soap, especialy soap that does not pollute the environment and is also good for washing hands. This activity was completed by holding a training and doing an experiment to make soap using extracts of Nathopanax scultellarium and Piper betel leaves which contain secondary metaboliites compounds with anti-bacterial and antioxidant activities. The aim of this training was to introduce the students to soap ingridients and daily-life applications of medicinal natural products. The soap made is herbal soap with natural anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties. This herbal soap is also easily degradble by natural microbes, so it is safer for environment. The training to make soap can increase student's knowledge at Ora et Labora Senior High School about soap with extras of natural ingredients, the use of soal as an easy way to live a healthy life through the washing-hands-with-soap initiative, and the awarness about the importance of preserving the environment. Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: PkM ini dilaksanakan bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas Ora et Labora yang memerlukan edukasi pemilihan/penggunaan dan pembuatan sabun yang ramah lingkungan untuk digunakan dalam kegiatan Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS). Kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan praktek membuat sabun menggunakan ekstrak daun mangkokan dan daun sirih yang banyak mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yang berkhasiat sebagai antibakteri and antioksidan. Dalam pelatihan ini, muridmurid dapat mengenal bahan-bahan pembuatan sabun serta mengenal penggunaan bahan alam berkhasiat obat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sabun yang dibuat adalah sabun herbal yang berkhasiat antioksidan dan antimikroba alami. Sabun herbal ini juga mudah didegradasi oleh mikroba alami sehingga lebih aman bagi lingkungan. Pelatihan pembuatan sabun herbal dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa menengah atas Ora et Labora tentang sabun dari ekstrak bahan alam, penggunaannya melalui gerakan Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS) sebagai cara mudah hidup sehat, dan pentingnya menjaga kelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

AbstractThis article described the innovative program that has been implemented by Department of Industrial Engineering, Universitas Surabaya, in developing education on standardization and application of standard. The program was titled as "The Orchestration of Tri Dharma Activities" because this program was conducting the management of Tri Dharma activities in a high education institution to increase the society competitiveness. The objectives of the program which involved Tri Dharma activities in education and teaching, research and community service, are to: (i) increase the competence of teachers and students towards education and implementation of standards, and then it becomes the core competency, and (ii) using this core competency, that have been owned by the teachers and students, to develop and implement standards in a variety of manufacturing and service organizations. Each deployment of Tri Dharma activity presented not only the strategy and its execution but also their impact on improving the competitiveness of the community in terms of both departmental lecturers and students, as well as for companies and micro, small and medium enterprises as business partners of educational institutions.Keywords:  Tri Dharma, orchestration, standard, society competitivenessAbstrak Artikel ini berisikan program inovasi yang dilakukan oleh Jurusan Teknik Industri Universitas Surabaya di dalam mengembangkan pendidikan standardisasi dan penerapan standar. Judul program menggunakan istilah “Orkestrasi Kegiatan Tri Dharma” karena program berisi pengolahan kegiatan-kegiatan Tri Dharma di dalam Penguruan Tinggi yang mencakup bidang pendidikan & pengajaran, penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat, untuk peningkatan daya saing masyarakat. Tujuan pelaksanaan program inovasi ini adalah (i) meningkatkan kompetensi para dosen dan mahasiswa terhadap pendidikan dan penerapan standar, yang kemudian berkembang menjadi suatu kompetensi inti, kemudian (ii) berbekal kompetensi inti yang telah dimiliki oleh para dosen dan mahasiswa, dilakukanlah pengembangan dan penerapan standar di berbagai organisasi manufaktur dan jasa yang diwujudkan melalui kegiatan di bidang penelitian dan pengabdian bagi masyarakat bisnis dan industri. Abstract

One of the problems in education is that educators have not been able to prepare innovative teaching materials in accordance with the development of science and technology. Educators are required to provide innovations to increase students’ interest in learning, especially in industrial revolution 4.0. This activity aims to provide understanding and skills to students and teachers in using electronic-based teaching materials and training of e-magazine making in chemistry learning. The activity was carried out at a public senior high school (SMAN Pintar), Riau Province, which is located in the city of Taluk Kuantan. This school is a boarding school that has a good infrastructure and facilities to support the optimization of learning science and technology in the industrial revolution 4.0. The method of implementing this program is to give a socialization about 21st century learning and the use of e-magazine as innovative teaching materials, followed by training and mentoring of teachers in making e-magazine using the Kvisoft Flipbook Maker Pro application. The results of this program are e-magazine products, usage manuals, and review books program. This activity received a positive response from students and teacher of SMAN Pintar Riau Province.Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Salah satu masalah dalam dunia Pendidikan adalah pendidik belum bisa menyiapkan materi ajar yang inovatif dan sesuai dengan perkembangan IPTEK. Seiring dengan tuntutan revolusi industri 4.0 yang mengedepankan IT, pendidik dituntut untuk dapat memberikan inovasi untuk meningkatkan minat belajar peserta didik. Salah satu inovasi yang bisa digalakkan adalah membuat bahan ajar berbasis IT. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan kepada peserta didik dan guru dalam menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis elektronik melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuaatn e-magazine dalam pembelajaran kimia. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di SMAN Pintar Provinsi Riau merupakan sebuah boarding school yang memiliki infrastruktur dan sarana prasaran sudah memadai sehingga diperlukan usaha pengoptimalan IPTEK agar sekolah ini bisa berperan serta dalam revolusi industri 4.0. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini meliputi pemberian materi sosialisasi tentang pembelajaran abad 21, penggunaan e-magazine sebagai bahan ajar, pelatihan dan pendampingan guru dalam pembuatan e-magazine menggunakan aplikasi Kvisoft Flipbook Maker Pro. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa buku panduan program, buku tinjauan program, dan produk e-modul yang dibuat oleh tim EMBER KLASIK serta guru hasil pelatihan. E-magazine adalah modul elektronik yang memiliki tampilan seperti majalah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memperoleh respon positif dari peserta didik dan guru SMAN Pintar Provinsi Riau.

Abstract

Bungo acolytes Pairs of clinics and Padang Sarai average visitors per day, approximately 20-30 people from all types of immunization conducted each month. Both the clinics served respectively by 2 medical personnel, in charge of conducting immunization, treatment against the patient and make a report in priodik every month that are reported to the parent of clinics Down Vera. See the occurred situation of limited medical personnel because of the patient's medical treatment and serving and making a report. This has resulted in a report given to the parent of clinics are often late, so leadership received reports of discontent and lack of quality of service perceived by the community. Thus goals for improving the health of children is also not achieved, so there is nothing for kids healthy, intelligent and powerful will be difficult to obtain. To fix the issue, designed and created, applied and used application program information system-based database for the management of immunization. The methods used in the implementation and use of the application program information system namely immunization management application program installed on the laptop will be used by the Midwife clinics as administrator, and then stop the manual systems and use application program management of the immunization clinic services to enter data that is recorded on the books of registration and status of patients into a program application, the system will process and store data on immunization database. This application can do a search based on the number of patient data patient medical recam. The system aims to administer immunization, improve the quality of child health care in creating healthy Indonesia children, smart and strong especially at Bungo Acolytes Puskemas Pairs and clinics Maid field. Application programs can also help the activities of a midwife for the management of immunization data, generate reports, reports of patient registration patient examination, immunization and participant card status card to patient immunization, stored into the database, it can be given whenever required by the direction of clinics Down Vera with a quick, precise and accurate.

Abstract

Kubang Jaya village is located in a low land peat swampy area and often suffers from the flood in the rainy season.  Swampy peat area generally has a high groundwater level; thus, it can immerse the septic tank in the housing in the area.  The height of the groundwater table is approximately 50cm from the surface level, while the depth of the septic tank is 150cm.  When the septic tank below groundwater level, this could cause a mix of soil water and septic tank waste.  This community development activity aims to educate the community about sanitation and give lecture and training of installing bio-porta septic tank (bacterial portable septic tank) for housing in high groundwater level area. Bio-porta septic tank consists of two drums as sediment tank and aeration tank. Bio balls were used to speed up the decomposition by aerobic bacteria in the tank.  An aerator was added to the installation to increase the proliferation of bacteria. The community development activities were pre-test, lecture, post-test, practical and cadre training.  Results show that there was an increase of understanding and knowledge of community from 24% to 62% about the septic tank in high groundwater level area.  The community also agreed to replace the conventional septic tank into the bio-porta septic tank in the future.  The activity also has a positive impact on educating and changing the mindset and attitude the community of Kubang Jaya village in improving the sanitation with an intention to the bio-porta septic tank in the future.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Desa Kubang Jaya merupakan kawasan dataran rendah rawa gambut dan sering mengalami banjir saat musim hujan. Lahan rawa gambut umumnya memiliki muka air tanah tinggi sehingga dapat merendam tangki septik pada perumahan yang terdapat di kawasan tesebut. Rata-rata tinggi muka air tanah sekitar ±50 cm, sedangkan kedalaman tangki septik warga sekitar ±150 cm dari permukaan tanah. Apabila tangki septik terendam, maka hal ini dapat mengakibatkan pencampuran air tanah dengan limbah tangki septik. Oleh karena itu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberikan pengetahuan mengenai sanitasi lingkungan dan memberikan penyuluhan serta pelatihan pembuatan tangki septik bio-porta (bacterial portable septic tank) untuk rumah di lingkungan dengan muka air tanah tinggi. Tangki septik bio-porta terdiri dari dua drum yang berfungsi sebagai tangki pengendapan dan tangki aerasi. Untuk mempercepat proses penguraian oleh bakteri aerob di dalam tangki maka digunakan bio ball atau rumah bakteri. Aerator ditambahkan pada instalasi untuk mempercepat perkembangbiakan bakteri aerob. Kegiatan pengabdian terdiri dari pre-test, penyuluhan, post-test, praktek, dan pelatihan kader. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat dari 24% menjadi 62% tentang tangki septik di lahan dengan muka air tanah tinggi.  Masyarakat juga sangat setuju untuk mengganti tangki septik konvensional dengan tangki septik bio-porta di masa mendatang. Hasil kegiatan sangat berdampak positif untuk mengedukasi dan mengubah pola pikir serta sikap warga desa Kubang Jaya dalam memperbaiki sanitasi lingkungan tempat tinggal dengan keinginan untuk menggunakan tangki septik bio-porta di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Community service programs conducted in Sukamekar and Cisarua villages in Kecamatan Sukaraja has a theme "IbM Sukaraja Districts Towards an Energy Independent Village". The expected objective of the science and technology program for this community is to make the existing community in Sukaraja Sukabumi districts generally independent in the field of energy and particularly the villages of Sukamekar and Cisarua of Sukaraja Disticts. The method used by some stage of the electoral groups in each village based on the potential of cow dung waste, socialization biogas to a selected group, training and implementation of biogas installation and monitoring and evaluation of all activities conducted. The result of monitoring and evaluation of this activity shows that cow dung in Sukamekar and Cisarua villages of Sukaraja districts can be utilized to produce biogas that  used for cooking purposes IbM implementation provides some benefits in the field of economic, social, security and mastery of technology.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic emerging in early 2020 has significantly impacted various sectors, including education. The policy of home-based learning (defined as online learning), that is implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture becomes a challenge for students, teachers, and educational institutions. Online-based learning is still an unfamiliar concept to the world of education in Indonesia. Lack of preparation and planning during the switch to online-based learning leads to bad learning experiences for both students and teachers alike. This event was aimed towards Indonesian educators to discuss essential elements regarding digital literacy competence, namely basic principles of distinguishing face-to-face classes and online classes, deciding on a format, design, and interaction in online classrooms, as well as the cycle of teaching and learning. As many as 454 participants from the five major islands in Indonesia virtually attended this event on May 13th, 2020. This event utilizes the ADDIE training developmental model elaborated in five stages: 1) Analyze, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Pandemi COVID-19 yang muncul di awal tahun 2020 memberi dampak signifikan dalam berbagai sektor, termasuk Pendidikan. Kebijakan home-based-learning atau pembelajaran jarak jauh yang ditetapkan oleh Kementrian pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia menjadi sebuah tantangan bagi peserta didik, tenaga pendidik dan institusi pendidikan. Pembelajaran berbasis daring masih asing bagi dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Kurangnya persiapan dan perencanaan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar daring berakibat pada pengalaman belajar-mengajar yang buruk bagi peserta didik maupun tenaga pendidik. Kegiatan ini ditujukan bagi tenaga pendidik di Indonesia untuk membahas beberapa elemen penting dalam kompetensi literasi digital seperti prinsip dasar yang membedakan kelas tatap muka dengan kelas daring, menentukan format, desain dan interaksi kelas daring, serta siklus belajar mengajar berbasis daring. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 454 partisipan yang tersebar pada lima pulau terbesar di Indonesia berlangsung secara virtual pada tanggal 13 Mei 2020. Kegiatan ini menggunakan model pengembangan training ADDIE dengan 5 tahapan sebagai berikut: 1) Analyze, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation dan (5) Evaluation.

Abstract

The problem of the groundwater in the peat areas is the low acidity (pH) and the high content of organic matter (KMnO4). One of the relatively simple water treatment methods is to use rapid sand filter. The purpose of this community service activity is to socialize and apply rapid sand filter technology to farmer group in Kulim, Tenayan Raya, Pekanbaru. The method of socialization to farmer groups is done by making and installing rapid sand filter equipment in the location, water quality test and counseling about rapid sand filter technology. As a result, 4 rapid sand filter have been built and installed in 3 locations. Based on the parameters of pH, color and odor, the organic content of ground water quality in the area is not in accordance with the quality of clean water. The water quality after being processed in rapid sand filter has increased quality based on pH, color, odor, and KMnO4 parameters test.Keywords: peat water, rapid sand filter, water quality

Abstract

In the era of industry 4.0 technology development various modern food has grew abundantly that boomed and became viral in the community, this is just because that people’s mind set changed on food, their taste became simpler and instantly food. One of the food that become popular nowadays is fruit salad. Fruit salad is some fruits which have cut into pieces flavored with variant mayonnaise. This kind of fruit salad is became one of the most favorite food because it’s tasty. Observation and interview have been conducted in Sumberan, Pakal, Surabaya as the partner of this community service. As stated in observation and interview, the problems of the partner are: 1) Lack of concern on hygienic factors in processing fruit salad; 2) The process of packing fruit salad is not well done properly; 3) Human resources management are not managed well in the distribution of work; 4) Finance Bookkeeping had not conducted at regular intervals; and 5) Marketing and promotion has not yet to empower information technology.Due that problems, the team offered the solution as follows: 1) Supplying hygienic equipment in making fruit salad; 2) supplying an appropriate equipment packaging; 3) Training and workshop to improve packaging design to improve wrapping; 4) Refinement the label design in accordance to ‘PIRT’ regulation; 5) Training and workshop on human resources management, especially in the work distribution; 6) Training and workshop in finance bookkeeping which use online financial application; 7) Training and workshop on online marketing media for instance Ecommerce, WhatsApp business, Facebook, Instagram etc. The aims of this activity to increase the community economy and to produce hygienic, fresh and tasteful fruit in order to be consumed healthy.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Dalam era perkembangan teknologi industry 4.0, banyak berkembang olahan makanan modern yang merebak di masyarakat, hal ini diakibatkan oleh perubahan pola pikir masyarakat yang menginginkan varian makanan instan, salah satu yang mulai berkembang saat ini adalah salad buah. Salad buah merupakan salahsatu jenis makanan yang merupakan campuran dari potongan buah-buahan diberi varian mayonaise yang disukai banyak kalangan karena lezat dan segar. Berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan kepada mitra beralamatkan Pakal Sumberan, Kecamatan Pakal, Kota Surabaya. Permasalahan pada mitra adalah; 1)Dalam pengolahan salad buah kurang memperdulikan faktor higienitas, 2)Proses pengemasan salad buah belum sempurna, 3)Manajemen SDM tidak dikelola dengan baik dalam pembagian kerja, 4)Pembukuan keuangan tidak dilakukan secara berkala, dan 5)Belum memaksimalkan pemasaran dengan media teknologi informasi. Solusi yang dipergunakan pada mitra adalah; 1)Pengadaan perlengkapan yang higienis dalam pembuatan salad buah, 2)Pengadaan alat pengemasan yang lebih baik, 3) Pelatihan pengemasan agar tampilannya lebih menarik, 4)Perbaikan desain label kemasan dengan menyesuaikan aturan PIRT, 5)Pelatihan pada manajemen SDM terutama dalam pembagian kerja, 6)Pelatihan pembukuan keuangan menggunakan aplikasi keuangan daring, 7)Pelatihan pemasaran menggunakan media daring, seperti: eCommerce, WhatsApp Business, Facebook, Instagram dll. Tujuan dalam kegiatan ini untuk memperbaiki perekonomian masyarakat dan menghasilkan olahan buah segar yang higienis agar sehat untuk dikonsumsi.
