Abstract

            Akademisi tidak hanya bertanggung jawab di rana pendidikan tetapi juga di masyarakat. Terletak hanya kurang lebih 3 kilometer dari Universitas Wijaya Putra, terdapat UKM Krupuk Kendung yang sedang berkembang. UKM Krupuk yang dipimpin oleh Bapak Fauzi ini mempunyai permasalah yang harus dipecahkan salah satunya adalah sangat menghandalkan sinar matahari untuk mengeringkan krupuk. Pengeringan krupuk tidak akan bisa dilakukan jika mendung dan ataupun hujan. Krupuk yang tidak kering akan tidak bisa mekar saat digoreng dan mengurangi kualitas krupuk tersebut. Untuk mengatasi permasalah tersebut UKM Krupuk kendung menggunakan oven pengering krupuk. Oven pengering yang dimiliki oleh UKM ini sangatlah sederhana dan tidak menggunakan teknologi yang memadai. Untuk itu Program Kemitraan Masyarakat menawarkan mesin oven pengering krupuk sebagai investasi serta untuk meningkatkan kualitas Usaha tersebut. Mesin Oven Pengering yang dirancang untuk UKM Krupuk merupakan investasi jangka panjang dan mampu meningkatkan penghasilan dan produktifitas UKM krupuk ini, sehingga pemberdayaan masyarakat yang telah dilakukan bisa lebih meningkat dan lebih membuka lapangan kerja.

Abstract

This research focuses on mimicry based on the theory of Homi Bhabha in Tanizaki’s Naomi. The research is a qualitative research. The findings of the research shows that Naomi  indeed imitate, copy, and adapt the western culture. Naomi in imitating, copying and adapting western norm through their physical appearance  uses western products such as cosmetics, magazine, fabric, food and seeing movie and enjoying western music. Meanwhile, Naomi’s manners and behaviors confirm the applying of the notion of mimicry which is said as an imitating, copying and adapting the western culture. Naomi is described as good imitator of western culture not only in her physical appearance but also she performs some actions which mimic of western culture. Those actions are being punctual if she has an appointment, and  having a lot of male westerner friends. Keywords : mimicry, postcolonialism

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam rangka lebih mengoptimalkan warga Kendung RT 01 RW 03 yang mempunyai jumlah usia sekolah lebih dari 40%. Anak-anak usia sekolah tersebut lebih banyak menghabiskan waktu senggang mereka dengan hanya melakukan kegiatan yang kurang bermanfaat dan tidak mendukung tumbuh kembang mereka. Jika mereka tidak sedang bersekolah mayoritas mereka hanya menghabiskan waktu mereka dengan asyik bermain ‘gadget’ atau sekedar duduk tanpa melakukan aktifitas yang berarti. Bisa dikatakan anak-anak tersebut terlalu banyak menggunakan waktu mereka dengan pengoperasian gadget seperti smartphone ataupun ‘tablet.’ Program ini diinisiasikan dengan latar belakang salah satunya permasalahan penggunaan waktu yang tidak bermanfaat dan sia-sia. Kharakteristik anak-anak usia sekolah di wilayah kedua Gang tersebut sama-sama menghabiskan waktunya untuk mengoperasikan gadget mereka. Dari survey yang telah dilakukan orang tua mereka juga tidak berdaya menghadapi sikap anak-anak tersebut, seharusnya orang tua diharapkan lebih berperan aktif untuk mengarahkan anak-anak mereka. Sangat diperlukan solusi yang bijak untuk seluruh masyarakat baik orangtua, anak-anak dan remaja lebih menjadi kreatif dan lebih tanggap terhadap perubahan yang terjadi. Target luaran kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini adalah sebuah model pemberdayaan kampung literasi bagi seluruh warga yang meliputi orangtua, remaja, dan anak-anak. Diharapkan dengan memaksimalkan kampung literasi dengan tujuan agar mereka lebih responsif, peduli terhadap sesama, dan lebih berdaya guna terhadap dirinya dan lingkungan sekitar sehingga masyarakatnya akan lebih kondusif dan kreatif. Metode yang diimplementasikan pada program ini adalah pengembangan dan pemberdayaan kampung literasi kampung Kendung RT 01 RW 03 Dan salah satu pengembangan dan pemberdayaan tersebut lebih mengoptimalkan Taman Bacaan Warga yang akan digagas di lingkungan RT 01. Selain itu pengadaan Taman Bacaan Warga, Parade Membaca, Festival Menulis Tokoh Kampung, tantangan mempresentasikan apa yang sudah dibaca, seminar dan workshop tentang membaca. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu meningkatan keterampilan baik soft skill dan hard skill di kelompok mitra binaan. Lebih jauh lagi, hasil kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu menciptakan masyarakat yang harmonis, tanggap situasi, peka terhadap perubahan sosial dan aman sejahtera jauh dari kejahatan.

Abstract

The progress of technology in communication and information is growing more rapidly, as well as the utilization. This progress has spawned various types of activities which is based on the Internet network, such as e-government, e-commerce, e-learning and more. One obvious example of the development of information and communication technology in education is the implementation of e-learning. This proves that the utilization of information and communication technology today has become a necessity in a learning process in schools, especially for learning English. Social Media is an online media, with users able to easily participate, share and create contents include blogs, social networks, wikis, forums and virtual worlds. One social media which is suitable to be used as a medium of learning English is Blog. Blog is a web based application that resembles the form of writings (published as a post) on a common web.With the facilities provided by blog, there are some benefits that can be obtained, namely: the first benefit, using blog as a learning center. The second benefit, as the source to search references from internet sites that match to the material taught in the class, or to find other websites that are useful to expand the global knowledge of the students. And the third benefit is that blog can be used as a place to share opinions between student and student or students and teachers. The step is to make a Blogger community between classes.

Abstract

Computer self-efficacy (CSE) and job satisfaction play an vital role in achieving education’s aims not only in general affairs but also in particular goals both in formal education institutions and teacher’s real life. This research intends to (1) analyze the effect of big five behavior model (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neurotisicm, openness to experience) toward computer self-efficacy of teachers in SMA – SMK Wijaya Putra Surabaya, (2) analyze the effect of big five behavior model (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neurotisicm, openness to experience) toward teacher’s job satisfaction of teachers in SMA – SMK Wijaya Putra Surabaya. It is highly hoped that the research could be a reference for the schools themselves and the stake holders to manage and improve the teachers. The population of this research is teachers in Wijaya Putra Senior High school and Wijaya Putra Vocational High School which is consisted 52 teachers. This research conducts census method with 46 questioners analyzed. Computer self-efficacy data, Teacher’s job satisfaction data is gained through CSE dan MSQ questioners. While Big Five Behavior Model (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neurotisicm, openness to experience) is obtained through the scoring Big Five Inventory (BFI). Those data is analyzed qualitatively with double regression technique The findings show that the factors big five behavior model with dimension agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness to experience effect partially while the dimension: extraversion and neuroticism do not influence significantly towards CSE of the teachers. The factors big five behavior model has the impact significantly on CSE of the teachers in stimulate way. In teacher’s job satisfaction, all of the dimensions influence in stimulate way and partially. It shows that dimension of neuroticism in big five behavior model is the dominant variable which affects the teachers’ Computer Self-Efficacy.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas arketipe dari seorang ibu tiri dalam Dongeng Grimm:  Hansel dan Gretel, Cinderella dan Putri Salju . Arketipe adalah model universal dari jenis yang sama. Ibu tiri dalam dongeng secara arketipe digambarkan mempunyai karakter yang  jahat dan selalu menganiaya ke anak (anak-anak) tiri nya. Tindak tanduk ibu tiri tersebut sering digambarkan dengan kecemburuan yang tidak masuk akal , kejam, kasar , egois, atau bahkan ingin membunuh anak-anak tiri untuk penjelasan yang tidak masuk akal dan tidak bermoral .

Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the implementation of a test of evaluating and test of creating as contained in the mid-term test and final test exercises during the era of Covid-19 pandemic by two English Foreign Language Lecturers.  This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a document analysis approach intended in analyzing the implementation of a test of evaluating and a test of creating as contained in the mid-term test and final test exercises. The source data of this study is the mid-term tests and final tests that were made during the era of the Covid-19 pandemic by two English Foreign Language Lecturers who teach in the English Literature department in a private University in Java. Data collecting technique is done using documentation and observation methods. The data analysis has been done by data coding. Then, the data is identified based on the categorization of level competency based on the Bloom taxonomy, particularly the evaluating and creating competency level. After that, the data will be analyzed and interpreted.  The finding showed that 'test of evaluating' appeared only one item that requires students to review especially criticizing based on the qualitative standard and criteria. Meanwhile, the second finding was 'test of creating' in mid-term and final test patterned on the ability to produce a new thing by implying the processes inside 'creating' that are 'generating, planning, and producing’.  By implicating Bloom's taxonomy, the lecturers are not only assisted but also expanded and sharpened the assessment, so the purpose of learning is not just teaching transfer but also covering all the cognitive processes needed in learning transfer.

Abstract

Melakukan penelitian tidak semudah menulis artikel. Menulis sebuah artikel dari hasil penelitian mungkin menjadi sesuatu yang sangat sulit bagi mereka yang belum pernah mengenalnya. Dalam menyusun susunan bagaimana sebuah artikel harus dibuat atau disusun guru perlu disesuaikan dengan cara bagaimana mereka seharusnya bekerja melakukan sebuah artikel. Melalui workshop online ini, tim pengabdi mencoba membantu para guru agar terbiasa menyusun sebuah penelitian menjadi sebuah artikel yang siap dipublikasikan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara online di mana terlebih dahulu guru diberikan penjelasan bagaimana seharusnya sebuah artikel dibuat. Setelah itu, mereka dibagi menjadi beberapa kelompok dengan tutornya untuk membantu mereka mengerjakan lokakarya.  Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan dan menambah wawasan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana menulis karya ilmiah utamanya menyusun artikel dari hasil penelitian. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab dan penyampaian materi. Hasilnya, salah seorang guru berhasil menyusun penelitiannya menjadi sebuah artikel yang siap dipublikasikan. Workshop ini sangat membantu para guru untuk membuka pikiran mereka tentang bagaimana artikel yang bagus dapat dibuat dari penelitian mereka sendiri. Sebagai kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah bahwa pelatihan ini adalah hal yang memang dinantikan oleh semuanya walaupun kenyataannya menulis karya ilmiah adalah hal yang cukup berat mengingat guru dengan faktor usia dan pekerjaan sekolah lainnya. Maka perlu adanya kegiatan sejenis yang berkelanjutan dan terarah
