Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem alat pengukur sudut kontak yang merupakan salah satu metode penentuan karakteristik permukaan material kayu. Data analisis yang dihasilkan oleh sistem alat yang sudah purwa rupa ini, berupa citra digital berbentuk video lalu dipotong pada kelipatan 10 detik dengan perangkat lunak GOM Player. Sudut kontak dari setiap potongan gambar tersebut kemudian diukur dengan menggunakan aplikasi Image J dan diambil data nilai sudut kontak pada detik ke 100, 200 dan 300 dengan 7 kali ulangan, lalu ditentukan nilai %RSD untuk menentukan tingkat kepresisiannya. Hasil pengolahan data sudut kontak secara statistik menunjukan tingkat presisi yang baik. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil pengukuran sudut kontak cairan finishing pada kayu mahoni yaitu  (46,379 ±1,728)O dengan nilai RSD sebesar 3,73%  pada waktu pengambilan gambar 100 detik, ( 45,335±1,930)O dengan nilai RSD sebesar 4,26% pada waktu pengambilan gambar 200 detik dan (44,198±1,170)O dengan nilai RSD sebesar 2,65 % pada waktu pengambilan gambar 300 detik. Pengukuran sudut kontak yang presisi menjadi hal penting untuk akurasi penentuan karakteristik material yaitu tingkat keterbasahan, hidrofobisitas, dan tegangan permukaan serta aplikasinya yang luas di bidang pendidikan, penelitian dan industri.

Abstract

Literature studies on the application of the inclining test, in accordance with BKI (Indonesian Classification Bureau) standards, have been widely applied to large ships. But in practice in the field, large ship media is difficult to obtain. In supporting ship building practicum and ship stability, especially in inclining test practicum, a miniature ship is really needed to help students understand ship building, ship stability, and understand the inclining test procedure which is a benchmark for ship stability. So in this study, focusing on ship design, for fabrication of ship buildings and the addition of lubricating media, as well as calculation tables as a guide in carrying out building practicum and ship stability. In the fabrication of miniatures that have been produced, the stability point values are KG = 3.54 cm, KM = 20.17 cm, KB = 3.41 cm, GM = 16.63 cm, and BM = 16.73 cm where the results are has been obtained in accordance with the theory of stability where the position of each point is in accordance with the top order of K, G. B. and M.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the production of occupational health safety (OHS) videos in microbiology laboratories. The procedure used is "ANKER", which is an acronym for work analysis and reconstruction from making OHS videos used in workshop activities to increase work awareness in the microbiology laboratory. The OHS video analysis score using the VEE diagram obtained 38 points on a scale of 100. The work procedure was carried out by testing the OHS video with 37 workshop participants. On the basis of obtaining the scores above, video reconstruction needs to be carried out which includes adding Focus Questions, clarifying knowledge claims, adding data recording processes and activities. The results of interviews with respondents showed an incompatibility between the music and the storyline so that the background music in the video needed to be replaced. After the reconstruction process using the VEE diagram, a score of 94 points on a scale of 100 was obtained. Thus, the use of the "ANKER" procedure using the VEE diagram can be used to increase awareness of working in a microbiology laboratory. Respondents were of the opinion that K3 information via video was very helpful in increasing awareness of working in the laboratory. Submission of information about K3 must be carried out before carrying out laboratory activities and after carrying out laboratory activities as part of the practical evaluation

Abstract

Pendidikan dalam bidang fisika memiliki peran penting membentuk calon ilmuwan dan teknisi yang berkualitas. Salah satu faktor dalam proses belajar mengajar fisika adalah penggunaan peralatan laboratorium yang memadai, namun terkadang penggunaan peralatan laboratorium tidak efektif karena pengguna kurang memahami cara pengoperasian yang benar. Selain itu, kesulitan dalam mengakses informasi mengenai peralatan yang tersedia dan cara penggunaannya dapat menghambat proses belajar mengajar di laboratorium Fisika. Hal inilah yang melatarbelakangi dilakukannya penelitian ini.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ADDIE yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan  wanwancara dan angket yang dibagikan kepada beberapa  ahli dalam bidang mengevaluasi kelayakan katalog. Selain itu angket juga diberikan kepada pengguna katalog berbasis QR-code yaitu mahasiswa sebagai peneliti dan praktikan di Laboratorium Fisika Dasar.Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam meningkatkan efektivitas penggunaan peralatan laboratorium Fisika Dasar, serta memberikan inspirasi untuk pengembangan teknologi QR-code dalam bidang pendidikan. Dari penelitian  diperoleh  skor rata-rata uji kelayakan adalah 88% menyatakan  katalog sangat layak. Sedangkan   skor rata-rata untuk uji efektivitas adalah 89% yang menyatakan katalog sangat efektif.Dengan demikian, pembuatan katalog klasifikasi dan Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) pengoperasian peralatan Laboratorium Fisika Dasar berbasis Quick Response (QR)-code dapat meningkatkan efektivitas kegiatan praktikum dan penelitian di laboratorium Fisika Dasar.

Abstract

The competence of a midwife has a major influence on the quality of midwifery services provided. The Midwifery education program structure contains 40% theory and 60% practice. Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a rapid and drastic change in health education. With the restrictions during the pandemic, student access to the laboratory is also hampered. Objective: This research allows the creation of new learning media based on game animation that can provide students with a real audio-visual picture of a particular midwifery care procedure. Methods: The design of this research is Research and Development (Research and Development). The development research model used is ADDIE with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development and, Production, Implementation, Evaluation. The data collection method used in this study was means of observation and questionnaires. Tests in this study were conducted to test the usability aspect. Results: This application can be used on Windows-based personal computers and Android-based mobile phones. The results of testing the usability quality of the NGT installation game application are 91.56% and get a very good predicate so that this application can be used for practical learning. Conclusion: The NGT installation game application can be used as a KDM practicum learning media.

Abstract

Teknologi pengolahan limbah ternak sapi untuk produksi biogas skala rumah tangga. Dalam praktikum pengolahan limbah peternakan dilakukan perlakuan perbandingan kompisisi campuran air dengan limbah kotoran ternak sapi dalam produksi biogas. Digester terbuat dari drum plastik 60 liter kemudian diisi slurry sebanyak 40 liter. Waktu pengamatan dilakukan selama 10 hari. Perbandingan komposisi campuran air : kotoran = 1 : 1 ; 1,5 : 1 ; 2 : 1. Kemudian melakukan pengujian kualitas gas metananya di Balai Penelitian Lingkungan Pertanian Jaken, Pati Jawa Tengah. Dari hasil percobaan, diperoleh kadar gas metana sebesar 228406,38 ppm pada perbandingan air : kotoran ternak = 2 : 1, 195337,56 ppm pada perbandingan air : kotoran ternak = 1 : 1 dan 110969,13 ppm perbandingan air : kotoran ternak = 1,5 : 1. Hasil uji ANOVA dari percobaan perbandingan air : kotoran ternak menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak menunjukkan nilai yang signifikan terhadap konsentrasi CH4, CO2 dan N2O (P>0.05).

Abstract

The sheet metal working laboratory must be equipped with the latest tools and technology to facilitate effective learning for students, including the use of sheet metal cutting tools. This research aims to design and construct an efficient, safe, precise, and production-accelerating sheet metal cutting tool to support the sheet metal working laboratory at the DIV Manufacturing Engineering Technology program, Mechanical Engineering Department, Banyuwangi State Polytechnic, which is moving towards the Teaching Factory (TEFA) program. The research involves literature review, conceptual design, actual design, material cutting based on the design plan, assembly, finishing, and performance testing stages. The manufacturing and performance testing of the tool are conducted in the bench working laboratory of the mechanical engineering department at Banyuwangi State Polytechnic. Performance testing includes cutting time, thickness of material that can be cut, and the quality of the resulting cut. The results indicate a shorter cutting time and non-damaged edges (NG) compared to other tools like angle grinders and lever shears. Therefore, Rotary Cutting Shears are considered a more efficient option with straight, precise, and even cutting edges for various thicknesses ranging from 0.5 mm to 2 mm. Laboratorium kerja plat harus dilengkapi dengan peralatan dan teknologi terbaru agar mahasiswa dapat belajar dengan baik dan efektif dimana salah satunya adalah alat potong logam lembaran. Alat ini dirancang untuk memotong material logam lembaran. Dalam penggunaannya, alat potong harus memenuhi kriteria presisi, kecepatan, dan efisiensi untuk menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas tinggi dan mempercepat proses produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sebuah alat potong logam lembaran yang efisien, aman dan presisi guna mendukung kinerja laboratorium kerja plat pada program studi DIV Teknologi Rekayasa Manufaktur  Jurusan Teknik mesin  Politeknik Negeri Banyuwangi yang menuju program Teaching Factory (TEFA). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tahapan studi literatur, perancangan konsep, pembuatan alat dan pengujian performa. Pengujian performa dilakukan untuk mengetahui kinerja alat potong. Pengujian meliputi waktu potong, ketebalan material yang dapat dipotong, dan hasil potongan yang dihasilkan. Alat potong digerakkan oleh motor elektrik three phase 380V dengan gearbox sehingga operator tidak perlu lagi melakukan feeding secara manual dan dibuat secara ergonomis agar nyaman digunakan oleh operator. Desain ergonomis juga memperhatikan aspek keselamatan kerja dan kenyamanan operator saat menggunakan alat potong. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengadaan alat potong logam lembaran yang modern dan efisien. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga dapat menjadi acuan bagi pengembangan Teaching Factory di masa depan dan memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pengembangan industri di wilayah Banyuwangi.

Abstract

The performance of a lathe in the turning process is greatly influenced by the components in the lathe itself such as the fixed head, removable head, rotating center, lathe tool, drill chuck and center drill. Reduced lathe performance can cause lathe failure. The incision made by the lathe chisel on the workpiece will determine the result of the turning work. The cylindricity/flatness of the workpiece results from the parallelism of the lathe tool and the workpiece axis. If the lathe tool is not parallel to the workpiece axis, it will produce a workpiece that is oval (not cylindrical) or has an uneven surface. In aligning the lathe tool on the workpiece axis, you must first bring the lathe tool closer to the end of the rotating center, which sometimes takes quite a long time. Laser Auto Level in Lathe Life Center (LAL3C) is a hand tool that functions to make it easier to align the lathe tool on the workpiece axis as an effort to improve the performance of the lathe machine. The research results show that using LAL3C can make it easier to align the lathe tool on the workpiece axis and can shorten the time.

Abstract

  Solid soap as a result from process analysis practicum can be produced using with hot process method using raw material of palm oil and a strong base in the form of NaOH. The aim of this research is that apart from fostering student inquiry regarding the soap making process, they are also able to analyze the parameters of solid soap over a certain period based on variations in the amount of added surfactant. The methods used in practicum activities are dividing practicum groups, making solid soap, and collecting practicum reports. In the activity of making solid soap, the concentration of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) was varied for each group, 0, 1, 2 and 3% w/w respectively. The parameters measured in this research were the pH value, water content, ability to form foam, free fatty acid content and ethanol insoluble material in solid soap. The pH characterization of the results of the saponification process shows that soap at all variations in SLS concentration is predominantly alkaline. The characterization carried out showed that the levels of free fatty acids and ethanol insoluble substances met SNI 3532:2016 standards. Water content parameters do not meet these standards because the measurements were carried out during practical activities and without the process of holding the soap product. From the results of observing these parameters, in general it can be concluded that the solid soap products resulting from the practical work have the best quality under the condition of adding SLS with a concentration of 1%.

Abstract

In the electrical energy conversion laboratory, the stable operation of the induction motor is one of the most important factors. Failure of induction motor operation can be fatal in research activities in energy conversion laboratories. Prevention is needed so that the performance of induction motors remains optimal. this paper was created as an alternative for laboratory users of electrical energy conversion in maintaining the performance of induction motors. Based on a survey conducted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the main cause of electric motor operation failure is generally caused by insulation failure, so electric motor testing is generally dominated by insulation testing. Many insulation testing methods such as Insulation Resistance (IR) testing, Polarization Index (PI), Delta tangent, and other tests. In this paper, IR-based testing is proposed, because it is relatively cheap and easy to implement. The IR testing process is carried out using direct voltage from the Insulation Tester to the sample to be tested using the IEEE 43TM-2013 Standard. The test results show the IR value of the sample motor is good. This condition is categorized as safe to operate, so research activities that use induction motors can run well and safely.
